Our main room has an Arc/One’s/Sub where we watch on an LG Nano tv through Apple TV 4K.  While watching Hulu (Killing Eve), the app shows Stereo PCM 2.0.  I just picked up a new TV for the bedroom, LG UN73,  where we have a Beam/One’s set up.  The new TV in the bedroom plays the same show in Dolby Digital 5.1.  Both TV’s are set to Auto, the main TV is set to Passthrough from ATV, and I have switched the Apple TV back and forth from allowing Atmos and forcing DD 5.1.  Right now, I can only see the difference being the Apple TV app, vs the LG app in the bedroom.  I am hoping someone can help me accomplish DD 5.1 out of the Arc.

I’m a relatively new, and relatively frustrated Beam (& rear Symfonisks) owner.  I have a Virgin Media V6 Tivo box, PS3 & Roku Express all going into my TV via HDMI, then out Via HDMI Arc to the Beam. I’m receiving Dolby Digital 5.1 & 2.0 from each device (confirmed in Sonos app). My frustration, like so many others, comes from not receiving DD from anything being broadcast in DD+ from the Roku, (Disney+/Netflix/Amazon) all the Beam receives is Stereo PCM 2.0, a vast difference in quality to DD.  After many, many hours of reading similar issues faced by others, I think the issue is with my TV, it’s a 2015 Sony KDL32w705c, while some TV’s can take in a DD+ signal and put out a DD signal, it doesn’t appear that mine can. I have tried every variety of settings.  Is there a cheaper option than a new TV? I was half contemplating a new TV, as I quite fancy something larger (40-43”). I read somewhere that TV’s produced from 2016 have a better chance of being suitable for my needs,

Hi All,I have just become the owner of a Sonos ARC which I have been looking forward to for a while. After setting up the ARC and having issues with my Sonos Play 1 surrounds I decided to hardwire my ARC and use the SonosNet configuration. I have an LG C9 and Apple TV 4K and have been using Netflix to tryout the Sonos ARC capabilities but for some reason the Sonos Play 1 surround speakers don’t seem to be in sync or on occasions don’t work. Or should I say sometimes for no reason vocals will move from the ARC to the Play 1’s… Sort of with a muffled effect. I just watched Formula 1 drive to survive on Netflix and the sound was everywhere even when a driver was doing an interview???It’s as though the voice flips back and forth between the ARC and the surrounds, making it sound very unstable.My ARC is connected to the eARC HDMI port and the LG C9 has eARC enabled and Passthrough configured???I have also checked my Audio settings on the AppleTV.Everything is running on the latest firmware’

hi Guys,Ive hooke up my arc via the DHMI ARC port on my sony bravia KD75XH8096BU 75 Inch 4K Ultra HD Smart Android TV.Issue im having is that i the audio is always via the sonos and i cant have the tv sound only,  i can select tv sound via the tv audio settings, but after a second or two the sound reverts back through the sonos.  how can i solve this,   i just want to use the sonos when watching a film and not running everytime the tv is on.  TIA  

My Sonos arc sub was working and sounding great until it stopped and “unpaired”, now nothing. I’ve tried everything;  reset the sub, reset the arc, deleted and re-uploaded the app..nothing will get the sub working. I get to the point it says “your sub has been added but may not appear in the systems tab. If so, unplug the power cord and plug it back in to finish setup from the systems tab.” Of course that’s not working. Anyone run into this issue? I’m really annoyed.

I was hoping someone has had a similar issue that I’m currently experiencing with the Sonos Beam and found some sort of solution. This has driven me crazy to the point that I’m ready to get rid of this sound bar. I have a Vizio P75 F-1 TV which I connected my Sonos Beam to using the HDMI ARC port. At first, the Sonos Beam worked great. My TV remote controlled the volume (though it was always delayed) and was always connected as soon as the TV was turned on. Then about 3 months later, the Beam stopped automatically connecting and I would have to manually go into my TV settings and connect the Beam. This was annoying but at least it still worked. Fast forward to about 6 months ago, my Beam is now completely useless. When watching TV, no sound comes out. When I go to the CEC settings on my TV, it says the Beam is connected, but no sound.    Some of the solutions I’ve tried: Power cycling both the TV and Beam Adjusting the Beam settings on the Sonos app (IR settings, TV set-up, etc) R

I’m sold on the Arc + One SL setup for my home theatre but I have an issue.    My projector is up high at the back of the room (obviously) so routing the devices at the front of the room into it is impractical.   So they’ll need to go into an HDMI matrix, 4 in, 2 out. Then one HDMI out to the projector, the other to the Arc. I don’t want to use Optical for audio due to its limitations.  Does anyone know if or how I’d be able to control volume in this setup? My display has no speakers or volume control, so I couldn’t use that in the way a TV normally would.  Would my only option be the Sonos app? That’s a bit clunky and slow for that moment you want to grab the remote and change the volume.  Does HomeKit and AirPlay compatibility mean that the playback status and volume would show on the lock screen of my iPhone whenever the Arc was playing audio? Or are there any other options? Thanks in advance    

Hey,My Playbase randomly disappear from my system. The only way to make it visible again is to restart it by pulling the plug. This is very annoying as you might guess.Except from my Playbase i own four Sonos One, and they all work fine.Help!

I just bought a Sonos Arc with two Symphonisk as rear speakers, and although I am very happy with my choice, I feel sorry for one thing. Indeed, I am disappointed to find that the surround sound is always activated when the rear speakers are on. When I listen music from my NAS or a streaming music service, I don't need and don’t want a surround upmix. Unfortunately, the option to deactivate this feature is hidden in the sub menus and must be reactivated each time I want to watch a movie and then deactivated each time I want to listen to music. It is therefore very tedious to manage. My previous 5.1 amplifiers allowed to listen by default only the original format of the audio content. And I find it a real drawback that Sonos does not offer this option when you associate surround speakers with the sound bar. Why not offer the original format with the Ambience and Full options in the Music playback submenu in the Surround audio settings?

HiIs there a simple way, via the Sonos controller app (on iPhone/iPad) to retrun the source to TV after playing music? I’m sure there used to be an option but I cannot find it and wonder if it has been removed in a recent app update? I’ve read older posts which talk about an option in the app, but it doesn’t seem to be there. There are also posts regarding Beam that suggest “asking Alexa”, but since the playbar doesn’t have Alexa that option is also not available.Is there a way to do this now, or has the option been removed completely?Thanks

Hi. It is still a little unclear to me about the clearance needed when mounting the Arc to the wall. My TV/wall mount combo is about 3” from the wall and if I mounted the Arc to the wall, there would be about 2”-2.5” between the bottom of the TV and the top of the Arc. The Arc drivers take up a little over 2.5” of the front of the arc. I am wondering how thick the Arc mount is and how much further out it will make the Arc from the wall. Will the Arc stick out enough past the TV to avoid the sound being obstructed? If so, then is the 2-2.5” of clearance between the TV and Arc sufficient for the Arc to work properly?   Thank you and apologies if this has been answered before. I could not find the answer to my particular situation.

Hi.I got a samsung q60 series tv 2019.Ive got a sonos arc with Dolly atmos., but i dont get the atmos Chanel. What shuld i do?The svettigt on the tv is on dolby+ and the hdmi is conected to the arc hdmi on the tv.

Hi everyone   First post here - I pre-ordered the ARC fully knowing that it only has 1 HDMI-eARC port and its gonna be mega pain for PC users to Dolby Atmos to it unless you are gaming on a TV with eARC. So let’s start trying to find solutions….  hello I'm not sure where to put the question if I create a new post. I want to create a sound at home either 7.1 or dolby atmos, I don't know much about the subject. now i have 1 beam and 2 sonos one. My idea is to install 2 five, what I don't understand is what kind of configuration is left 7.0 or still 5.0 or this setting does not work as surround sound Thanks.  

I’m losing my mind over here :)I have an Arc + Sub (gen 3) + pair of One SLs connected to a Sony Bravia 900h TV on the latest firmware with the 2.1 HDMI features. When the TV  is set to run at 60hz the sound works fine. When I switch the TV to 120hz my audio drops or I get no sound at all when selecting Atmos output on the Xbox Series X. Switching to Dolby Digital or 5.1 uncompressed works fine.  Anyone else out there struggling with the Series X and the Sony 900h? I know Sony is having issues with this particular firmware version but I’d like to rule my Sonos system out as part of the problem. 

Hi, a little help required please.  I’ve an older (2012 KDL46” Sony Bravia TV) hooked up to a Sonos Arc and 2 Play ones as rears. As it’s an older TV we use a Chromecast for the normal catch up services and for our Amazon Prime and Disney+ subscriptions. My problem is I don’t think I’m getting 5.1 for anything that goes through the Chromecast. The exact same film watched straight from the TV sounds so much better (full surround) than when I stream from Disney+. I just had the opportunity to flick between a Pixar movie on BBC and  stream the same on Disney+ and the TV broadcast sound was full surround I’d say, the Chromecast just seemed to have an ambient or stereo rear split at a background volume. I’ve fiddled with a number of settings on the TV and the Chromecast but I can’t seem to fix it. Any ideas?

First I love the set up with the Beam and 2 play 1’s...I see that there is a problem with connecting a set of bluetooth headset.  I’m experiencing the same issue with two sets of bluetooth headsets.  This is definitely a Sonos issue….why don’t they just issue a software fix?  there is no reason the Beam has to control audio all the time….Sonos just fix it.

I set up a Beam in its own Sonos room. This is attached to the TV. I would like to move it to a Sonos room which contains 2 Play 1’s. These are in the same physical room as the TV/Beam. I have grouped them but can’t find the right mix for clear dialogue from the TV. I want to Trueplay the three components as a set but don’t believe I can do that for a group.

Hi everyone I have recently purchased a Sonos ARC (works perfect)I have since added a pair of Sonos SL speakers sync’d as a stereo pair and setup True sound with no problem.I can Stream music services with no problems at all, the problem is when I watch the TV and the Surround SL speakers keeps dipping in and out (skipping) which isn’t right.I’ve changed the WI-FI channels ( tried 1 & 11) as Sonos is set on 6 I have 4K HDMI lead connected to a OLED LG through the ARC port.ive tested my WI-FI strength and is a strong signali do also have a Sky router. any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks in advance👍

Hey folks, First time posting here. So I've set up my Sonos Arc via ARC to my LG C8. I've been getting Dolby Atmos just fine via my Apple TV 4K (thanks to my LG C8 being able to decode the Dolby Atmos signal into a lossy format for regular ARC), but when I started up my Xbox One X today and went over to the audio settings and changed it to HDMI: Bistream Out and then I choose Bistream format: Dolby Atmos for home theater, I get no sound, silence... When you initially choose that option, it makes you launch the Dolby Access app and then you can go to the product section to "setup" Dolby Atmos. I did that and it's turned on with the channel upmixer setting turned on as well. If I set it to Dolby Digital or stereo uncompressed, I get sound. Although sometimes, when I'm on Dolby Atmos and then switch to either one of those, I'll still get silence and will need to do a hard restart (hold down power button on console for 8 seconds). Wondering if anyone has found a way to get this to wor

While setting up my new Beam - 1st product purchase for me - the set up said that newer Beams would connect to 5G, but this one only connects to 2.4. I’m wondering if I should take this one back and get the implied “new product”.  I don’t want to start a new system with old hardware where there is already an upgraded version out. 

Playbar is installed for the TV with optical cable and TV´s own speakers are set off.Volume is controlled thru the Sony remote control, set up with Sonos.Playbar might change volume setting between the TV channels (also whatever streaming, Netflix etc. sources) or after restart.Volume might be very loud or you can´t hear nothing...To solve such issues, I found only way to push remote control volume down (step by step to zero) and then again higher reaching the requested volume level.This is really tiresome and I would be really thankful to find a way to solve the issues!

Are there any known issues with connectivity to Samsung QLED TVs? If yes, are they fixable?

Hi All, I have just bought the Arc, Sub and two One’s for the surrounds. I am trying to connect to a old TV (I am saving for a new one next year with eArc). The TV is a Pioneer PDP-LX508D, so was planning on using the optical out into the Arc.  However… it seems that: "The Pioneer PDP-508D only has the capability to send audio from it's own internal tuner over optical and is incapable of carrying audio over from any external sources" I don’t use any of the internal tuners - so there is no optical signal being sent from the TV for any of the inputs I use it for. :-( Any ideas on how to get this working (that does not involve me buying a new TV now!) Thanks. 

Hi,I have an odroid n2+ box with coreelec installed, and a sonos arc sound with the last update 12.2.When trying to play a movie the box crash. I tested the box directly to the tv sound and works.On the coreelec i have configured the audio output device:AML Augesound, HDMI ch PCM.My sonos arc is connected to my tv on the arc hdmi port.I do not know what to do more.PS: Also, i tried a nvidia shield and it works, on kodi.
