Hey y’all. I have a Sonos Play:5 (Gen 2) set up in my living room and I recently purchased a Google Nest Mini (Gen 2) to control it. I’ve set everything up to the point where I can tell the Nest to do things like pause and start music on the Sonos, but when I try to command the Nest to play a specific artist / genre / playlist etc. (e.g. “Hey Google, play jazz on Sonos in the living room”), it replies with the following error message: “Sorry, it looks like Apple Music isn’t currently supported on the living room”. I have set up Apple Music as the default music service on the Nest, and have logged into the same Apple Music account on both devices. I’m a bit puzzled by the error message, since I’m pretty sure I was able to control Apple Music on the Sonos via the Nest at an earlier stage of setting the two devices up. But maybe I’m just misremembering. I’ve read suggestions elsewhere online that controlling Apple Music on a Sonos Play:5 via the Nest just isn’t supported. In any case, doe
Hi All,I hope someone can help me. I am trying to get Google Assistant to turn on a particular radio station (RTE Radio 1) on my Sonos. The strange thing is that it finds it and plays it on Google speaker but when I set the Sonos as default speaker it does not work. “Said turn on RTA Radio 1“Sure, RTÉ Radio 1 from TuneIn. Playing on Kitchen…Sorry, I can't find what you asked for….”I am not having this issue with any other radio channels I listen to. But unfortunately this is what my partner listens too and now wants to throw out the Sonos speakers.. Any help or ideas would be great.Thank you all.corcadorcha
These speakers are good enough. In a world where interoperability is the norm, Sonos just doesn’t cut it. I can’t get my TV audio to stream wirelessly.I can’t get my other non-Sonos speakers to play at the same time as the Sonos. If you have other Google home devices, don’t pay extra for the Sonos One’s with the assistant integration--they don’t integrate. You can only reinstall the music services and they will not work the same. I don’t know what the point of that is. Actually, the point is to likely to try and force Sonos users to buy only Sonos speakers. But the world isn’t like this in 2022. I hope the Product Owner was replaced and there are plans to actually make these work in a connected home with other devices. The speaker quality is 6/10 for the price. I might replace them with the Klipshe.
Really annoying that Apple Music doesn’t show up as one of the options to choose when being asked to choose music service in google Assistent. Only YouTube Music and Spotify are to be chosen. I don’t use neither of those. When is this going to be adjusted? I’m very disappointed that Sonos have these shortcomings.
I don’t really understand why I can’t use Google Assistant with Sonos when I can use it with Android. One of the reasons buying a Sonos product was it’s Google Assistant support. I found the list of supported countries: https://support.sonos.com/s/article/3491?language=en_US When will Hungary be added to the “coming soon” part and when can I expect it to be supported?
Hi,I've been trying to set up Google assistant on my two Beams.Neither of them allow me to turn the Microphone on.I have successfully added Google assistant to my Sonos One.Although I can turn the Microphone on for my Move, I cannot add the Google assistant to it either.Any tips would be greatly appreciated before I submit a support ticket. All of my speakers software have been updated.Thanks.
I’ve seen a few questions on this subject, but they all appear to be at least a year old.I just specifically purchased a One SL and paired it to a Google Nest Hub Max so I could use voice commands for Apple Music, but even that doesn’t work.Is there a timeline for fixing this?
I’ve just switched from Alexa to Google Assistant on my Sonos devices. Previously I could for example “stop bedroom music” spoken to any Sonos device, and it would stop the music currently playing on the device ‘Bedroom’ With GA, it only controls the music on the device I speak to, regardless of me specifically stating Bedroom. Am I missing something? I assume GA can do this?!
I’ve noticed a large conversation around getting "Support for Apple Music with Google Assistant”, whereby people were frustrated that Google Assistant on Sonos doesn’t support the ability to play music from Apple Music at this time. I just wanted to make people aware that they can workaround this limitation, albeit in a very limited capacity, by using IFTTT to play a specific "Sonos Favourite" you’ve already “Added to your My Sonos” app home screen area.Requirements: You’ll need to first have a basic IFTTT account with Google Assistant and Sonos added as Services. And you’ll need to have already added what you want Google Assistant to specifically play (ie a playlist) to your My Sonos area by selecting it in the Sonos app and choosing the option "Add Playlist to My Sonos". Steps: You then “create” a new applet in IFTTT that uses Google Assistant service for the "If This" part choosing "Say a simple phrase” to trigger it. Then you choose the "Then That” action which uses the Sonos serv
I have scoured these forums for different solutions here but to no avail. I have a Sonos Arc soundbar set up and added to my google home. The devices it created in the Home were “Sonos TV Control Soundbar” and “Soundbar”. I enabled the google assistant and it works great with my account. My wife is using iOS, and also has google home installed on her device. we have a google mini speaker that will recognize her voice and mine as separate, which is the desired result. On her account, when you go to the voice match settings, the Sonos soundbar is not listed as an available device to use with voice match. There is an option to add a new device to voice match which i tried. I had to log back into my sonos account and confirm adding the devices. After I did this, I now have two “Sonos TV Control Soundbar” and “Soundbar” devices on my google home, but voice match does not work for her account, nor is it listed as an option for voice match in the google app. We are both managers on the a
Hello there, I recently connected my Arc and Gen 3 Sub to my Prism+ TV through the HDMI (ARC) port without any challenges. The sound stage is stunning! Especially the solid and punchy bass from the Sub. However, the Google Assistant through the Arc is unable to turn on the TV. The TV’s built-in Google Assistant was working well. My TV model is Prism+ QE86 Pro.Any thoughts from anyone?
Hiwe are experiencing some GA issues with our sonos setup. We have a kitchen (1x play one) and a dining area (2x play one in stereo). The rooms are next to each other and it is very easy for all speakers to hear the “hey Google” trigger. If I ask a question, I would expect the closest room to reply, but both rooms reply and generates sort of an echo Is that how it is when it is not native Google speakers?
Google Assistant works fine on Sonos 1 if my phone is out of the room.If my phone is in my pocket and I'm in front of the speaker and say, "hey Google, turn up the volume". It turns up my phone instead of the speaker even though the speaker beeps in response to the hey Google.
Hi All,I have a Sonos Arc surround setup (Arc + Sub + Ones). I have NOT set up any voice assistants.Randomly (sometimes in the middle of the night!), the Arc will say "hmm something went wrong, try again in a few seconds", literally at maximum volume.Googling this phrase seems to point at a Google Home / Assistant error. Again, I do NOT have Google set up on any of my Sonos speakers. I do have 3 x Google Home minis dotted around the house, but obviously they should not be connected to the Sonos in any way.Any ideas what may be causing the Google Assistant buried within the Arc to randomly activate?! It's pretty creepy...Cheers,Su
I have seen old posts about this but no solutions. I have a Sonos One with google assistant. I also have a Roam and Move. None of these speakers are able to play white noise indefinitely like you can on Google Home/Nest products. It will play 15 minutes to 1 hour of ocean sounds and then stop. This is a problem if you use white noise for kids naps or sleep. Sonos phone and email support have not been able to explain to me the problem. I have seen complaints about this with Alexa too and it’s related to some sort of time out.Appreciate if others have the same problem or know what the reason is. I imagine Google also makes full implementation of their voice difficult.
I’ve bought a Beam 2 - first Sonos speaker. And I’m not overly impressed…Sonos have an exellent reputation but I’ve had quite a few annoying issues.Started with the setup not working and having to do it manually. It then decided my location was India and so neither voice assistants worked. When I finally got that figured out I discovered that every time I ask it to play ‘BBC radio 4’ it plays 4 Extra instead. Can’t find a solution to that one (other than the app).I also can’t seem to set up a speaker group with Google speakers. I naively assumed that since they all use Google Assistant that they would all be able to go into a group for synchronous playback.Does anyone know any solutions to these issues? I’m kinda wishing I’d just bought another Google speaker tbh.
For a while now I have had my Play 5 Gen 1 on the S1 system linked as my default speaker when I ask Google Home to play music. I recently bought an Arc on the S2 system. When I try to set it as the default speaker for a different Google Home speaker, it makes me relink my sonos account and the S1 system disappears. As if you can only have one of the systems linked to the google assistant at a time. Anyone found a solution to this? Or is it one or the other only?
I have Sonos speakers with Google Assistant enabled in all of my rooms. So far it worked as expected. My Sonos One and Arc speakers would only respond one at a time. So if I was standing between two rooms, even if two speakers reacted to the “Hey Google” keyword, the response would only come from the one I was standing closest to.Now I have added the Roam as my bathroom speaker. Annoyingly the Roam will always react to my commands. Even if I am standing closer to another speaker. This leads to an echo effect when the Roam plus another speaker are both responding. How can I disable the multi response and make only one speaker react to my voice commands?
I recently bought a Roam and added the Google Assistant. On all my other google assistant enabled devices (non Sonos) I can ask for BBC Radio 4 to be streamed and it works. If I ask the Roam for the BBC Radio 4 stream I get BBC Radio 4 Extra from Tunein.I have the BBC Sounds Service added to my configuration. All the BBC streams on Sonos come from Tunein. Only hand crafted BBC Sounds shortcuts work natively on Sonos as I’m set up at the moment. Tunein is still available as a service.I know BBC Sounds is still in pre-view too. Is this the problem and should I be more patient :-)
Hi everyoneNew Sonos user here. I’ve set my Beam Gen 2 and pair of One SLs (living room) with Google Voice, and I’ve also linked a Google Home Mini (kitchen) to the Sonos in the hope that:I can use the mini in the kitchen to control music on the Sonos system in the living room; I can transfer whatever is playing in the living room to the kitchen and vice versa; and I can duplicate whatever is playing in the living room in the kitchen and vice versa. Please can somebody let me know if this is possible? The problem’s I’m having are:When I try and transfer or duplicate music (e.g. by saying “play in the living room as well” it says it doesn't recognise that command? If I ask the google home mini to play something it defaults to playing on the Sonos system - I would have thought I’d need to specify that I wanted it to play in the living room and it would default to the kitchen?Any input greatly appreciated! Thanks
Trying to ask Google to play Pandora staton, but it tells me it looks like I have to log in again on this media provider
I only use Pandora as my music streamer, and I can use it when making requests in the Sonos app on my phone, but when I try the “Okay Google” verbal request, it acknowledges my question, but tells me that “It looks like you have to log in again to this media provider.” I’m logged in everywhere I can find. So I’m not sure where it’s wanting me to log in again.
Hello all, I have 2 Sonos systems in 2 different locations. I only use Google Voice service. I'm really disappointed when I switch from one to my other system (House).Sonos recognize the other system where I'm connected to. But I cannot set up Google Voice with Sonos app config.I'm always obliged to enter into Google Voice app and then make recognized the new system, and at the end I come back to Sonos to setup the link Sonos for each of my product to Google Voice. It's really f...g process!!!! How do you manage that? Why is n it automatic???Thanks?
