Hi, recently the Google assistant volume on my Sonos One has become unlinked to the volume control of the speaker and is now currently too loud. I know for certain this is a new issue as this is my bedroom Speaker and it all of a sudden is deafening, and the volume of the voice does not change whether the speaker volume is 1 or 100. Can you please advise?

Same issue here.

Sonos appears to be aware of it and looking into a fix in the meantime as with Alexa:

I have the same issue. It started about 2 weeks ago after an update. Would love to know how to reduce the Google Assistance Volume.

Hi Corry P Sonos Staff,

Here the same issue with GA being way too loud. 2 weeks have passed since initial complains and we are still waiting on fixes. Doesn't seem Sonos has there development team on track yet. Hope for the best.

Since we do not know what causes this, we also do not know if it could have been corrected in two weeks or not.

Bizar this isn't still fixed.

Already taking more then 2 weeks for this to be fixed.

It's not like sonos is a small developer with no resources trying to make a fix here. I can understand it might be niche since there isn't enough people complaining about it and therefor QA didn't notice with testing before it got pushed out but this is already taking quite some time rendering my setup in the bedroom useless.

Was lucky I haven't been affected by the app debacle so I think my expectations should be lowered quite a bit seeing the time it takes for that to update :(

GA has always been too loud. But now it’s ridiculous. My first command in the “bedtime” automation is to lower the media volume to level 2. That made it partially tolerable. But now it’s not working at all after the update.  Any hope of Sonos fixing this issue and finally untethering the assistant volume from the general media volume and being able to limit the GA forever?

With the recent 82.2-59204 firmware update, it seems that Sonos has finally resolved the issue of Google Assistant (and other voice assistants) being way too loud (as introduced with previous firmware version 81.1-58210).

Here the GA volume seems reasonable again when it wants to say something 😁
