Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

I have had enough with three out of four Sonos Connects that stopped working. Time to Wiim. Sonos is garbage!!!!

When I try to connect a remote control the Ray via the app , in the app it almost immediately jumps to the next step stating no signal was detected. This is so fast that I do not even have time to push any button on the remote control.  anyone that has seen this before or tips how to solve this? I already restarted and even reset the Ray, still the same

I have a new broadband network and have connected the old sonos connect amp gen 1 via the Sonos S1 Controller app. So far so good.Unfortunately I made the mistake of connecting the three play 1 speakers to the new Sonos app. I am trying to downgrade them to S1 but as soon as I try to connect to the new WiFi the speaker cannot be found.This is driving me mad. All this pain because the old connect amp isn’t supported by the new app.Any suggestions for getting this downgrade to work and to get the speakers connected to the s1 controller app?

Why is this thing so bad. It lags, the UI is terrible and the features are crap. It reminds me of an old version of iTunes. Sonos you really need to take note from the likes of Spotify and Google, their apps are amazing. 

Hey!I have found a solution to the problem where my Iphone does not find the sonos system from time to time. And sometimes not at all.  The problem was that sonos have godt an IP adress like 192.168.68.55  , but the network my phone was getting from the mesh network was 232.168.xx.xxThis means that they wil not connect together.  The soultion was to turn of the 5G and airdrop, set wifi of and on again and then chek that the phone connects to 192.168. ***. ** Then i got in to the Deco app ( wifi app). And got to the advance menu. Here you want to set a permanent IP adress to your phone or device. I found the IP adress that is  on the same network as sonos (but ofcourse the last digits is diffrent) and set this up as the IP adress that i want the network to give to my phobe each time it conects to the network.  After this it has been working just fine, no more problem. ALSO! You must make sure there is no spesial symbols or “Æ, Ø, Å” in the networks name. I’m playing music from a personal library on a NAS, with the music managed by the Apple Music app on an iMac.Everything set up according to instructions etc - and everything works, plays etc. So far, so good. Metadata is correctly registered.But - the play screen on the app does not show album correctly. It shows some iTunes Library XML gibberish. On the MacOS app, album is shown correctly (image following in a post below)Is there something to do to correct this? Or is it yet another thing that hasn’t quite caught up btewwen the old and the new app?PS: Could we get correct sorting of names with starting with “The” and “A” - dropping these from the sort order as it should be?Screenshot showing correct album information from the MacOS app.Moderator edit: Combined posts

Somebody raised this issue a few months ago, related to an iPhone. You have marked it answered on the basis that Sonos are aware of the problem but have no idea when it will be fixed.I have had the problem on my Android phone for a few months.Please provide an update on the problem resolution.Best wishesBob, Austria

Hi all I want to buy two Sonos Roams to set up as a stereo pair using alexa voice command in white. what the best option being compatible and without doubling up on features unnecessarily please?

I have recently upgraded my broadband service and have failed to get my Play 1 to connect wirelessly. It connects fine with an ethernet cable to my router but as soon as the cable is unplugged it disappears from the app. I have followed advice from various forums but still no luck. Most advice talks about going into “Advanced settings “ in the app but there is no advanced settings option in my iOS Sonos app. Thanks in advance for any help with this. 

Another One for the "Lip Sync" CollectionI have a Samsung S90D, an Apple TV 4K, and a Sonos Beam. I've tried every possible setting, including the pass-through option on the TV. I'm using a high-quality HDMI 2.1 cable, but nothing seems to fix the issue.At this point, I've tried everything, and my Apple TV feels useless because I simply can't tolerate the delay.Does anyone have any good ideas?

Due to power outage, speaker not working. How do I reconnect to Wi-Fi? No options on the software

We have a Sonos system with some older devices (only play on Sonos 1 app) and a newer device (uses the new Sonos app).  We used to have 2 different network routers in our house, and the 2 systems worked on different networks. now we have changed to a single network, and can’t figure out how to use the different apps to get all our devices to work. My spouse’s iPhone can’t find the older Sonos system on his app. any suggestions would be appreciated before my husband throws them all out the window. 

Can you use two Ports in the same system? Used a Port last summer to sync inside music with outside speakers using a designated receiver. Remodeled basement over the winter and connected current Port to basement system and want to keep it as part of that setup. Spring is coming and we will soon need to set up outdoors. Want to use another Port (with its own designated receiver) to stream the same music in the house outdoors. Will two Ports work together to play same music inside, upstairs, downstairs, and outside? Appreciate any feedback on this setup.

Hi, I have just got my 2nd Gen Sky Glass TV and I’m trying to get my Playbar to work.  The tv comes with an audio optical socket so I’ve connect the bar to the tv.  I need to know the correct way to get it working / connected to the tvthanksheath 

While playing music there is no issues at all, while watching my TV the sound fades in and out. I’ve checked all my wires and even changed some wires and even change TV’s. any ideas

When talking with Sonos support they want me to send in a diagnostic, BUT the diagnostic won’t provide the information they need. Support informs me “everything is fine” because I assume the app sees the devices and thinks “all is good”. However, my use case is outside of the app (seriously who uses the Sonos app for anything other than setup?). We play music and then the speaker drops, sometimes we connect and the it says it’s playing music but there is no audio. iOSOne SL Everything is up to date.How can I get sonos to understand that their app won’t give them enough information and that I am enraged by their equipment everyday?All I know is I am never recommending sonos to a friend or even my future self. 

Not sure if this has been asked before but I’m curious if I can use USB A out from a Wiim Amp to the USB C in to the Sonos Era 100s? I’d have an SVS subwoofer also hooked up to the Wiim Amp which would act as the overall brain. Inputs into the amp would be bluetooth from a peloton bike and HDMI arc from a TV. Wiim confirms USB A is an output from their amp.The scenario I’m trying to justify is keeping the Sonos Eras while using an external subwoofer since I’m unable to use them without grouping with the Sonos Amp. Anyone tried this? If so, any audio lag between the Wiim and Eras using the usb output from the Wiim and input to the Eras?

Volume shuts off after playing for a few minutes. I have one pair of outdoor Sonos speaker powered off one amp. 

Why can’t I arrange my song lists as I want??? 

I used to shut it off by removing the music from all the different speaker groups… it would acknowledge it would shut down … not anymore… how do you turn it off?

Will there be further improvements to the EQ settings of the Sonos Ace? Perhaps more customization including bass and treble? Also will there be any on headphone dolby atmospheres/Spatial Audio like the AirPods Max?

Sonos does not appear to have fixed its glitches that well App still slow, hangs, freezes and can’t find the server despite my network being 100% okdoes this happen to others?

Roam 2.Question 2.  I cannot use the daily morning alarm as the speaker sleeps after 30 minutes. Seems useless. Bought a power charger it sits on but still alarm doesn't work.Question 2.  ...apparently you can turn the display lights off so not lit if speakers is set up on bedroom. This speaker doesn't give this option in settings Edit: Seems it must be fully charged and stay on charging station day and night for it to work. Hopefully the display lights can be turned off so doesnt light up a bedroom? Moderator Edit - Combined posts.

I just noticed the latest update for the Android App to 80.18.23 and upon launching it then invoked the update of each Sonos device to OS Version 84.1-63110. Unfortunately the new App hung at the “Finishing update” stage.  I left it for 30 minutes and nothing happened but the spinning wheel.The Android App and the devices are all reporting that they are at the correct level now so I presume it hung whilst cleaning up but it doesn’t fill you with confidence.
