Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

Hello, I currently have a Samsung tv that does not support optical. First step in my troubleshooting was to buy the Sonos official optical adapter. Adapter did not support E-Arc nor did it support sound. After speaking with Samsung support they said I’m going to need an Audio extractor that is powered so that the e arc channel can register power is applied. Non of these options have worked. I’m pretty competent with reading schematics as I’m an Aviation Electrician, however this Sonos system is very limited and I just bought this tv and my Sonos ray is outside of its return policy. Any tips or troubleshooting I can do on my end to get these systems to work?

This has been going on wayyyy too long!!! GEE! Maybe we should all keep purchasing more SONOS products to throw all of our money out the window!!! You have all of us Customers that have spent Thousands of Dollars on this equipment!!! Then some pretend Brainiac decided to F%$# it all up - leaving countless - loyal Sonos Customers in the Wind!!!! Seriously! WTF??? During all of this - I purchased a new $900.00 (actually it was more) Router to supposedly accommodate these ridiculous ‘made up’ updates - and it STILL DOES NOT WORK!!!! Of course, during all of this - you feel safe and protected because you only hide behind a website and possibly some phone calls for assistance - which, been there - done that - and who has the time for that!!! As for owning a company myself - which deals with elevators - installation - maintenance and repairs - there is no way in hell - that we could skip along diddly not doing anything to FIX IT! How can I listen to Radio Sonatica (http://sonatica.fm) in UK?It doesn’t show up in a station search using the Sonos Android app.When I try to play Radio Sonatica on TuneIn using the web, TuneIn says I am not in the right region or country to listen to it. I am not sure where it is based or why this is a problem.Is there a way to get around this?

Does anyone know if the fact that I can only connect my Sonos Ace to 2 bluetooth devices a physical limitation or a software limitation?  Asking because if it is software, it would really be nice to be able to connect to more than 2.  I currently connect it to my PC and my Phone, but would be nice to connect to my tablet at the same time without having to kill one of the connections.

Last week my play 3 speaker turned into an old bean tin.  Vibrating base G.E  makes it worse, I'm about to launch it over a cliff, any ideas?.  Tried reboot, reset etc nothing.  No true play avaliable in the new app, which is dire by the way

seit 20 Jahren benutze ich Sonos und die Sonos App. Mehr oder weniger problemlos warum funktioniert auf einmal diese Sonos App nicht mehr? Warum kann ich auf mein Spotify Konto nicht mehr zugreifen? Ich bin so genervt, dass ich kurz davor bin. Diesen ganzen Sonos Krempel in den Müll zu schmeißen - hat irgendjemand eine Lösung für dieses Problem? 

Once again you do an update and the system is crap.  Speakers. Dropping out all the time take for ever for the app to connect to my music and radio stations go off more than on.   adjusting speaker levels take for ever. Open up the volume and by the time you get to the speaker you want it closes and you go again we never had any of these problems.   Bought new speakers and other bits. Wish now I never did  come on sort this out 

Since the upgrade my music volume flexuatrs or drops. Any solutions.

Since the terrible app update, my Sonos One speakers constantly fail to play music, regardless of the service I’m using. The app shows that the music is playing but no sound comes out of the speakers, regardless of volume settings etc. the only fix has been to reboot the speakers, every time this happens, which, at this point is daily. The speakers are running the latest firmware and there have been no changes to the wireless network    Has anyone experienced similar behavior and know of a permanent fix?

Like many on here I have an issue with intermittent cutting out of Era 100.Purchased Beam & 2 Era 100 speakers for tv. Set up no issues, but when playing TV Era speakers intermittently drop sound. Assumed network so upgraded Sky to guaranteed high WiFi in every room including (new router)  (at a cost), no improvement, at times it drops all sound for several seconds. Spent half my life it seems in chat with Sonos to be told to sit in a queue to talk to someone despite going through every diagnostic with chat support. Stil no closer. Even replaced era speakers with existing play 1 speakers and same issue occurs. Rebooted everything, reconnected everything and feel £900 wasted so far. It’s almost u listenable. Works ok for music, Spotify etc, but for tv it’s intermittent drop out since installation. Sonos seem to know about issue but customers are not getting solution. So, anyone help as I feel left and abandoned with a system that I cannot listen to.

Hi. I currently have a playbar, sub mini and two one SL as surrounds. If I replace the playbar with a beam gen 2 would I get atmos ? Are the SL’s compatible with atmos setup ? Thanks for reading. 

I have a pair of powered bookshelp speakers (not connected to a reciever). Can I hook them up to a Port and stream using the Sonos app?

I have a Sonos Five stereo pair connected to a turntable via line-in, and one side (the one that is connected to the turntable) doesn’t work. The pair works fine for streaming (Spotify), but not line-in. I have tried disabling Wifi from the connected speaker (Right side) and connecting it via Ethernet,as per other discussions in this forum, and it still doesn’t work. At a loss here. I’ve paid a lot for this system and am very close to giving up and selling it and going wired.Please help!

My beam gen 2 is less than a year old and apart from initial connection issues at the start it has been working fine since. However I unplugged the beam to change the TV wall mount and since then it's not working at all. There are times it just starts working itself if left connected but then cuts out randomly or the remote stops working. I have tried disconnecting/reconnecting a number of times. Turning settings off and on again. Running the set up through the Sono app. None has worked. Running the set up on the app now says it can't locate the arc connection. It's 100% in the right hdmi port. I'm at loss of what to do next other than get rid of the bloody thing and buy a different one. My TV is LG C2, I'm using the hdmi cable provided with the beam. Any help will be massively appreciated please.

I have a Sonos One Gen 2 speaker. Worked fine since i got it Christmas 2022. We moved house recently and I cannot get it set up on the new WiFi.I have tried factory reset.I can get it to the point where it connects to the speaker by phone, plays the chime and then asks for the wifi password. it will not pass this point, its as if the password is incorrect.i have tried connecting directly to router via ethernet cable. no joy. I appreciate any help, thanks.

I cannot get my Roam and Pay:1 to group. When I try to group them it says “Unable to group, try again later”. What gives? I updated the Sonos app and the Spotify app. Both speakers are connected to my wifi. Very frustrating. This used to work. 

I have had Sonos since ZP100 and have loved it, advocated for it and been a bit of a Sonos evangelist among our friends. I have seen how the reliability of the ecosystem has been reverse proportional with the number of introduced features. It was a hit to the loyalty when they in 2020 broke the backwards compatibility and forced everyone to buy new units. However, the improved sound experience justified this. But with the introduction of the new app, there is no longer justification for me to recommend the system. It is unbelievable how many bugs were introduced. 6 months in I still have a MUCH less stable and responsive system than I had before May 2024. Just unbelievably unsatisfactory.I wish Sonos would try to get back to what it originally was - a high quality product with  high quality sound wrapped in high quality UX. I can honestly say that the first and last aspects are no longer existent. 

Hello, I have my old Playbase & one surrounds connected to my PC via optical cable to audio adapter. So optical cable from Playbase to adapter, then adapter connected to pc via USB. Everything was working great until updates last week. Windows 11 updated as did Sonos and now no sound from speakers. I contacted Sonos support and got this answer saying I basically screwed and it will no longer work. I’m new to this so thought I’d check here to see if people agree before bailing on my Sonos. I’m using curved monitor that does not have optical cable connection. I’ve tried to connect via wifi and my computer sees the Sonos but won’t play sound.  Any help would be appreciated  

I have been using TuneIn on the S1 app for years. Today it has stopped loading WUNC. I have tried to add/use Sonos Radio but it fails there too. I also tried to remove and re-add TuneIn, but that didn’t fix it. I tried another station that did work.What’s confusing is that I never created a TuneIn account. I assume that way back in the day, Sonos had some auto-Tunein-login agreement. I did sign up for TuneIn using GMail just now, but there’s no option to use those credentials in S1. When I re-add TuneIn, the S1 app just automatically does it without asking me for a username.BTW WUNC does work on the TuneIn browser page using me new account.It’s driving me crazy. Do I need to reboot something? It worked yesterday!

After the last update my optical connection with my video projector doesn’t work any more. The assistance says that the problem didn’t came from the update, but everything works fine until now. Very disappointed about the support and the fact we can not downgrade to solve a bug they made.

I’m a Sonos novice.Using a setup with three zones.  That part seems to be working fine.However, I’d like to add one non-standard setup through the HDMI AMP input (RCA already works for this setup, but 75ms latency is too long, so not an option).  I’ve seen the digital/HDMI input is supposed to be much lower latency.I want to be able to speak/sing into a microphone and have it amplified through that HDMI input.  Not loud, just maybe 70-75db range.  I connect a microphone to a Zoom U44.  Then I take its optical output, use the Sonos optical to HDMI converter (with an additional HDMI 2.1 cable) and go into the Sonos AMP.  Getting no sound, unfortunately.I believe the Zoom is outputting audio when trying this method because when I connect it’s digital output to an entirely different system it’s working fine.I know this idea may seem like more trouble than it’s worth, but would like to be able to test out and find out for myself if this can do what I’m hoping for.If you have additional idea

I can no longer get any sound from my TV on my Sonos ARC since the app update. I can play music but nothing from the TV. It illustrates that sound is coming through but I can hear nothing. Any ideas

For three years I have successfully used an ensemble consisting of Beam and two Play1s to play back my PC sound. This is done via an external sound card (SPDIF) and a TOSLINK cable connected to it. A few days ago the sound stopped completely! I suspect a connection with the recent SONOS controller update, the second suspect is Microsoft. I spent a total of three full days trying to find a solution - in vain. My great frustration is mixed with despair.Here are some pieces of the puzzle from my search so far:It is a Windows 11 PC.A second Windows 11 PC shows the same failure.Sound signals are displayed graphically.Connecting an Android tablet to the TOSLINK cable: music plays!New external sound card does not help on both PCs.Does anyone have a brilliant idea?Here are some screenshots for illustration.
