It seems these forums are littered with SONOS app complaints and issues around similar topics to this. The (older orange) Windows app worked fine setting up and detecting my Music Library at  //mybooklive/public/shared music. I could also work in fine using the Web app.

The (newer black) iOS app however has been an absolute headache.

First, when I tried //mybooklive/public/shared music, it just wouldn’t recognise the pathway… so I replaced the space with an underscore _ and now it is recognising it. However, it comes and goes regularly.

This morning, it’s still there, but despite this I cannot find and use the Music Library. The app is recognising the pathway, but not displaying any music from it on my iPad or iPhone. The windows app and the web app still both work fine.

What gives? What happened to SONOS? A basic requirement so fundamentally broken 😠

I have EXACTLY the same issue.  The Music Library (located on my NAS) path is recognised and if I select “Scan for New Content” it merrily goes away and does it’s thing and if I check in the NAS I can see Sonos accesseing the music tracks.   However, “Your Sources” (where the Music Library option should appear as a source) steadfastly refuses to display on my Home screen unless the room I select is where the TV is,  And even then, “Your Sources” only dsplays “TV” as the source.

I have a ticket logged with Sonos who agree that this is s “known problem for some users” but they cannot give me any idea of when it will be fixed ☹️

There is a workaround availble whereby using a Windows computer, you can select your music from your library on the the Windows desktop app or browser based Web App Controller.  You can (at least in my case) control the music (FF/REW/Pause/Play) from your mobile apps.  But carrying the PC around with you can be a bit of a bind !

The mobile app is still very unreliable. As the Windows app still finds it, your configuration is good, but the mobile app is not. Try a third party app, they are more reliable than the official mobile app.

I have looked, but i don’t believe (unless you know different) that there is a third party app that is able access local music libraries on NAS devices.  There are some that can access music on the device the app is on but I don’t know of any that can access local NAS libraries.   ANd unfortunatey the NAS music Library is the one Sonos failure that impacts me (and @Jambo75 and others) the most.

SonoPhone and Phonos Universal can both access the Sonos Local Library, as can the official Desktop apps. Mobile is the one that has trouble.
