I was signed in as the system owner, why do I have to sign out and then in again as the system owner only to get a message of something went wrong try later. It has been months with this issue and there is no fix. Ready to throw the whole system out the window.

Hi @Aquamel, welcome to the Sonos Community!

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble connecting as the system owner. There was an issue regarding this previously, but it has since been resolved by app updates.

If you have the latest version of Sonos app and have updated your speakers to the latest version, make sure you’re connecting on the correct Sonos account. You’re now able to connect to a system with any Sonos account, even if you aren’t the owner; if you connect to a system with an account that isn’t the owner then you’ll still see the ‘Sign in as the System Owner’ message.

What you could always do, is transfer system ownership to the email you’re logged in with. If the system is registered under another address, this will move it to the one you want without the need to reset anything. You can do this by heading to Settings → Manage → Transfer System Ownership, then follow the steps in the app.

If the above doesn’t help and you’re still getting the ‘Sign in as the System Owner’ message, then please reach out to our support team for further troubleshooting assistance, as they have the necessary tools available to help you resolve this.

I hope this helps!
