Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

hi my playbar started those pitching noises on stand by then it worse when in use not louder but annoyingly can hear it everytime is on  looking on advises it is common in those models but could not find a solution ]]thxPeter 

I have 2 play 5 gen 1 speakers which I’ve had for 10 years. They occasionally would stop playing music but in the last year have become really bad with one of them frequently stopping playing all together. Any advice on how to improve this? Our internet is fine and they are close to the router. Is a factory reset and reset of system worth a try. I don’t really want to replace them 

Does the mini sub Era set two speakers and the arc ultra all work well together? 

Hi guys,recently bought an Era 100 + Project T1 turntable to listen to my vinyls. The Era 100 works brillantly with the T1 but I do not seem to get behind how I can connect my other SONOS speakers (Play:1 and Beam) to it. I fear I am missing something essential here …Thank you for any help in advance. Felix

Hi All,I’m having an issue when connecting to my Era 300 via Airplay from Apple Music. The first time I try and connect it hands for around a minute and then I get an ‘unable to connect’ message. I think try again, and it connects instantly.  Anybody else having this issue and know how to resolve? It’s really annoying! Thanks in advance. 

The app is unable to play anything from YT Music. Standard "try again later" or "check your internet connection" rubbish..It plays SoundCloud just fine but is unable to connect to YT Music. I somehow managed to remove my account but am now unable to re-add it (because I need to check my internet connection!)Anyone else experiencing the same?(Nothing's changed in my environment)

I have used Sonos products for over a decade. Always happy and always recommend the product. Sonos screwed up the app in 2024 and have still not fixed it. Unbelievable. 

After the latest update, I lost my access to my music library (I have an older basic Buffalo Linkstation NAS - LS210D). I am pretty certain I was using SMB2 protocol. Although I don’t recall any issues before, I checked and changed the folder access to read-only and access is restored.  from 4 mos ago post by Ken_Griffiths:The username and password assigned for access to the shared library folder needs to be a user on the PC that has read-only (ideally) permission on the MUSIC share - check the folder properties on the PC to see which user(s) and what permission they may have to access the share and its sub folders and files. 

some of my speakers are showing that they are connected via the app and that there should be sound but I need to manually power the speak before sound can be heard

App has been upgraded,  We onlu have IOS no access to Mac or Windows, Lost ability to use alarms etc  Can we reverse upgrade and go back? New app is awful! so user non friendly 

I connect all my items (amp, Move2 and Era 100), but the dissappear from the app. I can still play spotify through spotify, bit in Sonos app there is cero… This is my first experience with Sonos and I am not impressed..

Recently, I have had trouble connecting to Audible with my Windows controller. I can use my iPad and Android to contact my Audible books. Just not Windows 11. I tried uninstalling the controller, and removing and adding the Audible service. Nada. Obviously, I’m not having trouble with the network, or the other controllers wouldn’t work.

I have a Sonos System with a oneSL and an Amp. Controlled via Android and my laptop with MACOS. Now I just upgraded tot MACOS 15.1 and Sonos can not find my system anymore.Firewall is On, but Sonos App and SonosLibraryServer are both allowed incoming connections as said in the instructions.Setting the Firewall off, does not solve the problem.Off course the system is there, my androids are still working.Please advise.

I have noticed when watching youtube videos, especially with women dialogs, that they can be a bit sharp/harsh, especially those with higher pitched voices. I am wondering if I should purchase a Sub 4, and balance out the sound more, or will this not help at all? Chat GPT claims that a Sub should free up drivers since bass work will be offloaded to the Sub, letting the Arc Ultra focus more on mids/highs, resulting in better sound there also. Is this true, and would it improve the harshness/piercing? I am not interested in adding rears. For men voices it can become muddy, but speech enhancement is an easy enough fix for that. BTW, I also notice the harshness on the Spotify TV app on my LG C4. Music sounds much better with airplay or with the Sonos app, but that’s not a dealbreaker since I can use airplay for music. I am using passthrough on the TV.

When I log into the Sonos Web App, it has 8 of my speakers in one system and the 1 amp on its own system. My system at home all have static/assigned IPs, all on Wifi 2.4ghz, no ethernet.Ironically, the single amp on its own system (Web App only) is continuously causing all kinds of problems (disappearing/appearing on iOS app, Windows app, volume delayed or doesn’t adjust at all, editing alarms, etc.). I have a feeling communication with the Web App is causing my problems since it does not align with the iOS app or Windows app (they list all speakers and the amp).Everything works flawlessly (beautifully!) using Sonophone (obviously not having to communicate back to the proprietary Sonos Web App). How do I merge the single Connect: Amp into the same system on the Web App? I’ve done the factory reset already of the Connect: Amp...still spread across 2 systems.

When playing Dolby Atmos Spatial Audio through a pair of Era 300’s, how are the individual Atmos channels distributed across the combination drivers in the speaker pair? I’ve tried to locate information on this topic on Reddit, YouTube, etc, but could not find any specific details. Any information that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.   

My Apple phone connects to my Sonos 5, but there’s no audio. Daughter’s phone does connect and plays audio. I’ve done a reset and volume settings appear fine. Any thoughts are much appreciated.  

My Sonos is offline on all radio stations. Anybody else having connection problems?

Hello team. I’m using a Sonos Connect to connect the Sonos ecosystem to my analog speakers. My current issue is when I use the Sonos app and play Apple Music to my Sonos Connect--so the line out is through my analog speakers--every song at some point it skips slightly. Think of a record skipping on a record player. My setup for the line out is Connect > Mini Amp (Pyle) > non-powered analog speakers. I have tried going from RCA cables between the Connect and Mini Amp, as well as RCA to Digital (using a converter on Amazon). No dice, still does the same thing.My internet bandwidth is strong and I use Sonos Ones and a Beam with no issue. And again, the music doesn’t drop out, so that doesn’t have me think bandwidth. It literally slightly stutters and goes back a millisecond, like a record skipping.Any suggestions would be appreciated. This is so specific that I don’t know if anyone else has experienced, but I’m crossing my fingers!

Alright everyone, here’s the deal. I have had a couple of Sonos roams for the last couple years. Two weeks ago I purchased a Sonos arc and a Sonos roam 2. Used the HDMI Arc cable and connected it to the Tv and at first everything worked as intended in the app. I was able to have tv audio play out of both the sound bar and whichever roam speaker I had selected.  Two days ago for whatever reason the Television audio specifically will not play out of any of the roams. It will play out of the soundbar and I can control it via app but when I try to get the tv audio to play out of the roams it will not work. Music audio works completely fine via the Sonos app.  I have tried: resetting my phone uninstalling and reinstalling the app logging in and out of the app resetting the system hard resetting my phone changing the audio type out of the television to PCM / auto / pass through resetting the WiFi network rec

How do I stop the Sonos ARC from powering on my computer and Blu-ray player when turning on the TV? The Sonos ARC is plugged in to the HDMI eARC/ARC port on my TV.

I pay for Amazon music and it is my preferred music stream service.  Why am I having connection issues with just the one service but the others play just fine.  Leads me to think it’s not a wifi issue.  It is constantly going in and out with Amazon, it is unlistenable.

I have a Arc Ultra with which I am experiencing some volume disparities.If I play Sonos radio (ABC Classic) on Arc Ultra the volume has to be up around 55% to be able to hear it at a reasonable level. With my ERA300 it would be at about 45% to get same volume If I stream music from Apple or Qobuz the volume level has to be dropped to about 35% on the Arc to be the same “reasonable level”. The worst problem is that when we turn the TV on it uses the previous volume level ie 56% and just about blasts us out of the house. Needs to be dropped to about 35% to be about right.Is this really correct behaviour for either the ARC - shouldn’t the TV kick in at a default lower volume rather than previous level. Shouldn’t ARC and ERA act similarly with same source. And why is Sonos Radio so much “lower” - I have tried various stations and they are all the similar.Very annoying behaviour.Moderator edit: Changed Plus to Ultra for clarity

Hi,I recently moved and in the move I could no longer use the preinstalled network. Here, I now have a 5g router (as fiber is being installed in a few weeks), this router is an ZTE and it supports dualband and some setups. On top of that, I also have Google Wifi that can be used.I think I’ve tried everything now, and I can’t get anything working with sonos. All other things in my IoT infra works just fine, but Sonos is… so far 3-4 hours down the drain. I’ve done a factory restore of all sonos devices. Arc, One SL (x2) and sub. I see all of these listed as “ready to be installed”.  When trying to connect to a wifi, it instantly says it could not connect. Both the built in ZTE router wifi, and google wifi (Which is frech from factory reset aswell). When trying to connect by cable, the sonos device will appear in my phone as normal, but it can’t connect to it at all. So I cannot even select for it to use a wired setu
