Hi all. Hoping for feedback for something on my mind. I am no audiophile and only just started to listen to music late in life. I mainly listen to jazz, instrumentals and easy going songs. My Sonos gear is in my open plan living area.

Been using a pair of Sonos Play 5 Gen 1 and a Sub Gen 2 on S1 app for better part of a year. Very happy. Sub made a world of difference.

Then curiosity got the better of me and I bought a Sonos Connect Amp Gen 2 and a pair of mint Polk TSi100 bookshelf speakers and on S2 app. No active sub at the moment although I am passively looking for one.

What I really want to know is could I get better quality of music listening from the 1st setup or 2nd setup provided I match correct speakers/sub.

Any feedback will be appreciated.

Only you will know what sounds “best” (to  you).

As an experiment, remove SUB from the PLAY:5’s then compare the sound to the TXI100’s. Which sounds better? Why?
