Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

It is frankly incredible how utterly crap the sonos app is. Even when it was working a couple of weeks ago it took minutes to get any of my sources to play and 10 sevonds even to change the volume (though the sound was great!). But now, when I wanted to use the speakers for something other than the TV, I started the app and it says no products found (even though I can see two products in front of me working with the tv) and "Go to system settings". (And what and where is my system by the way? I've only got speakers and a phone app). Pressing the system settings button takes me to "update network" and "set up a new system". The first doesn't apply as if I've not changed my router and the second, well I never had an old system as I've already pointed out. I've tried rebooting my phone. I'm going to try switching the speakers off and on. 

hi, these are the oprions i have for audio output in my tv (eARC) -    and on the app, this what i get for each option (same order): dolby multichannel pcm 2.0dolby digital plus 2.0stereo pcm dolby digital 5.1dolby digital plus 5.1 tried tidal, and what not.. what to do? Thanks!!

Good morning, the new app doesn’t work on my device, a realme X2 Pro (Snapdragon 855 Plus + 12GB RAM + 256GB). The new app is not working. It simply won't start. Here are some pictures:The app shows a logo... It stays on the logo screen for minutes and minutes, then it just goes to a black screen. As you can see, it keeps trying to start, but it never does. Black ScreenI've tried clearing the cache, uninstalling and reinstalling, etc., but always the same result. It won't start.What can I do? I'm left without Sonos (I have two Sonos Play 1 and a Sonos Play 5 (Gen 2)).Thank you.

hi guys!so glad to join this comunity just bought my first sonos product - sonos arcwhen i first connected it to my earc hdmi port, i was able to see some nice patters when switching to this hdmi inout on my tvbut now i can’t seem to get it again - when moving to that input (hdmi 3 - earc) i get a blank screenthe arc itself works fine, with tv sound or sounds from app but there’s always a black screen (“no signal”) altough the arc is fully functioning  how can i see this visualisation again?  thanks!!!  

I have a turntable (Rega Planar 1 Plus) connected by line-in to a Five with another Five as a stereo pair.  Additionally I have an Arc, Sub, One, One SL, Beam, 3 Play 1s, Roam and Ikea Symfonisk in various rooms.I can group any or all of my other speakers without issue when streaming from Spotify but when I play vinyl through the Five then group other speakers, I experience annoying, intermittent drop-outs on my other speakers.  The Fives play fine.I have reset the system (by unplugging all of the speakers then the router then rebooting the router then connecting the speakers) but the issue is persisting.It seems strange that there are no issues when streaming but when I play vinyl the sound keeps dropping in and out.  I’ve tried playing Spotify on the Fives first then adding other speakers one at a time but all of the other speakers are fine with Spotify but suffer the same issue when playing vinyl.I have the facility to hard wire on of the Fives to a wifi extender by ethernet but not

How do i change my connect:AMP what is the main device in the house to the Sonos Port?And another question! Could set up my “Sonos Port” as the main device and use the “Sonos Connect” on the Sonos 2 system?

I just changed internet providers— updated Sonos app— reset my Sonos 1 — all appears Ok but when I choose AirPlay and select the Sonos— it just jumps back to phone— all network connections seem ok- Sonos radio works fine too— just can’t connect — any thoughts?

Hi all, I have been upgrading my Sonos setup over the last couple years in my bedroom. The setup now is an Arc Ultra, Sub gen 3, and two Era 300s for rear surrounds. I realized recently through testing and research that I'm getting basically no proper Atmos effect from the height channels due to the shape of my room and the placement of the rears. Basically, the rear wall has a low slanted/vaulted ceiling since the room is a loft type setup. I am considering inverting them with wall mounts to try to salvage whatever Atmos sound experience I can, but they can realistically only go up about another 1-1.5 feet and not be that much further above ear level and I can't find much guidance on this kind of mid wall inverted mounting scenario. Right now they're perfectly at ear level when watching TV in bed which is great for the surround experience but bad for Atmos.Picture below for the current setup, any guidance would be appreciated. 

Hi, Anyone have any experience with a diagonal room viewing setup?  The 2 red dots are the usual viewing positions.  My question relates to the ERA surround placement, to be honest this is the only option for the room.In both listening positions the surrounds sit slightly forward of the listening plane for each person, will this still result in an immersive sound stage? Or should I just stick with the Arc and the Sub?  

Hi all,entering the Sonos world with an Arc Ultra, I found only half of my expectations to be fulfilled:TV works, Sonos Radio and Amazon Music run, and, using the Windows desktop app, I have been able to connect NAS media folder and Windows shared folder into the mobile app. Everything looks good, folders and music files are all visible and seem to be running, except there is no sound coming out of the speaker.Maybe one of you has an idea before I contact the support team.Many thanksGerd 

Hi community. I am running an S2 system with slightly older and newer Sonos products. Sonos Arc Sonos Move 2 Sonos Port Sonos Play:1 Sonos Play:3If I group all of the newer Sonos devices (Arc, Move and Port) they work flawlessly. However as soon as I bring in one of the older (compatible with S2) devices (Play:1 and/or Play:3) the system, stops. I get an indication it is working, but no sound. Sometimes it does work, but more often it doesn’t. If I just group the Play:1 and Play:3 they also work perfectly, it is just as soon as I introduce either a different generation product into the mix it becomes unstable.  All updated to latest available versions, etc. Anyone else experienced this, and have a fix. I operate the oder devices in my bedroom and bathroom and love the idea of coming downstairs and music to continue on the new devices located there.  I have older devices running on S1, but these are separate - although do exist on the same network - I only mention this to be entirely op

Hello – I’m hoping someone might be able to help me, as I am getting so frustrated at this issue, having spent hours trying to trouble-shoot I recently set up two Sonos One (Gen 2) speakers in my lounge as rear surround speakers. This is in conjunction with a Playbase, connected to my LG OLED 55B46LA T.V, via optical cable. The playbase (and the One’s for that matter) have worked perfectly for years and I can Airplay Spotify/itunes/Music as well as anything from the Sonos app. When I initially added the speakers as surrounds, everything worked perfectly for a few hours and sounded fantastic - then the One’s suddenly stopped outputting sound altogether. After un pairing and re pairing them and turning everything off and on again to no avail, I found that simply resetting the router magically brought them back to life. I used to run a Sonos Arc + sub gen 2 + play:1 surrounds in my home theater room with a 70” bravia 4k tv and I was very happy with the surround sound experience, but not really happy with the music I got from it… The pair of fives in the kitchen/dining space sounded far more full and really pulled me in.I’ve now moved out of the big house to an apartment. My current plan is to set up a projector for the once a month or so I want to watch a movie, and use an AMP 4.1 setup, since the primary duty will be music.Question is, what speakers to use for the mains… I don’t like the idea of spending a grand on a system that I won’t be able to tune, so my current thinking is to get some Sonos Architectural wall or ceiling speakers as the mains…Has anyone here used all three of the in-wall 6.5’s, in-ceiling 6.5’s and in-ceiling 8’s that you could compare and say if you’d recommend any of them for this type of use? Or, should I be looking at floorstanders or bookshelf mains and lose out on the DSP

I am thinking about redoing the audio in our family room and using an amp to run two towers and a center speaker. Back in the day, we would create a center channel by grabbing the negative of one side and run it to the positive of the speaker. Then we would grab the positive of the other side and run it to the negative of the speaker. Or we would series the center with the two fronts.  I believe the amp has to have a grounded output and not be bridged. I am not familiar with the Sonos amp’s internals enough to know if this is the case or not. Does anyone have a similar setup like this?

Does anyone know when Sonos plans to allow the Era 300 to receive Dolby Atmos sound via Airplay 2?

I am new to Sonos and purchased an Arc Ultra, 2 Era 300s, Sub 3 and 2 Sonance 6.1s for the pool deck.  Biggest issue is the volume control with the Vizio TV.  When the TV is turned off and back on I am unable to use the Harmony Elite remote to control the Arc Ultra.  The remote instead adjusts the volume of the built in TV speakers.  In order to get the Arc Ultra connected to the volume control I have to go into the TV’s menu settings and play with Audio settings.  Toggle from speaker off to auto or some other setting to get it to connect.  It’s not always the same TV option which causes it work with the remote.  There are times where it’s the CEC setting which enables volume to work again. CEC shows Arc Ultra in the list  and CEC is enabled each time I check.  I am always able to adjust volume through the app and once volume works it stays working until I power it down again.   I tried to search for the Ultra using the Harmony Elite remote but it only found my Sonos Amps.    I really

hi there, im trying to get Dolby 5.1 surround using the Beam, Sonos Sub and Connect AMP.  Currently I have 2 systems in my Sonos app (Connect AMP+SUB and Beam).  I am able to group them when watching a movie but I dont get a 5.1 set up.I tried adding my Connect AMP as surround speakers to the Beam using the Sonos App but every time, the Sonos App wiped out the systems and make me reset and add them back again.1).  Can i get Dolby 5.1 surround sound with these products?2).  How do i get it set up?  

Day 2 with my ultra, turned on the TV and was blasted by the soundbar at max volume, I know when I powered it off it was just under 50%. Now this evening, 3 times the arc ultra has wound the volume up to Max within a few seconds.  I suspect it is a problem with the volume touch panel on the device because when I run over to turn it down the volume touch panel in not responsive.At times the bar makes click noises when everything is off, they are like some of the interface chip and chirp noises when you use various controls on sonos products.So, anyone else? known issue, new bug? or hardware fault?I have powered it off for a few minutes to give it a reset but will be annoyed if this is it!Who ya gonna call??!!

My Sonos system is duplicating and showing that I have two systems on my network. The S2 app shows that both systems are identical and regardless of which one I pick they both work(ish). If I log into the web app, it shows two systems, one with all bar one speaker (Five), the other system contains only the Five. I have tried turning them on and off, I have tried a wired vs wireless setup and nothing changes. Is this a bug that is causing the issue or am I doing something wrong?  If it helps, my internet set up is a VM router with the wireless turned off and BT whole home discs providing the WiFi signal I also have a separate wireless access point in the garage which the Five is connected to. Thanks

I am looking at upgrading our home theater to an Arc Ultra and in ceiling speakers.  Just wanting this clear in my mind before I order everything.  If I connect the Arc Ultra to the TV with an eARC HDMI,  does the amp also need to be connected to the TV and / or the Ultra?  From reading it seems that connection happens wirelessly but some of the schematics on the manuals show an HDMI to the Arc Ultra and to the Amp. Thank you 

It doesn’t even list songs past the A’s.Searching works. I can play songs i search for.But they don’t show up in the app. 

I just had to reset my router, and now none of my Sonos products in my entire house are connected. In The Sonos App it asks me to update my network settings. I go through the prompts and click the first product that’s found (one of my Arcs). But it says it cannot connect as “there was a problem”. The amount of times this happens is ridiculous for such an expensive product. I would say my system works flawlessly only about 25% of the time. I’ve had nothing but headaches!! Someone, please help to get my system up, and reliable for once and for all! Thanks.

Hi, is anyone else having issues with s1 being unable to connect to Sonos? I had issues where speakers were missing & reboot of boost and or rooter had sorted them, but was getting tired of doing this.  However now I am unable to connect to Sonos at all. I have tried rebooting but no success. 

Ever since I got my Ray, I’ve been trying to get YouTube Music playing on it via my Android phone but it refuses to work. I am a YouTube Music Premium member. I’ve also found a temporary work around.When adding YTM to Sonos and signing in with my account that has an active YTM Premium membership, I could not search for any music. It would say it could not find any thing on YTM’s search. I uninstalled the sonos app, cleared cache, made sure all of my apps were up to date etc at least 5 times. I used both Brand and non-brand Google accounts with the same email as Sonos. I also tried removing the Sonos connection in my Google account settings.I attempted to sign in to YTM using the Sonos Windows app and it worked! With the non-brand Google account part. I can search for all of the music on YTM as intended.However, upon reinstalling the Sonos app, it will not let me search. It says my YTM account needs to be reauthorised. I have followed the in-app steps to do this several times and it did
