Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

Yesterday we had a broadband outage for a couple of hours, granted not the end civilisation as we know it but, we were unable to access our local music library as the App would not load.Why won’t the App load if there is no internet?Surely if our local network is up and running we should be able to play our own music?I’m pretty sure you could do this was working in the old App?Is there any plan to fix this? ThanksGeoff

Hardware updates launched from my iPhone (12 mini, up-to-date) have been failing (for many months) in three  of my ten rooms - two have Sonos Amps, one has a Sonos Five.  However, hardware updates launched from my MacBook Air (M1, up-to-date) always succeed.   Any ideas why this might be true?  The problem is 100% consistent no matter where I am in the house (I’m normally 5 feet from the Router and my Sonos Boost), and has been true for many rounds of updates (Sonos, iOS, MacOS.).  Error is typically 1010, though I think I may have seen 1000 once or twice.This is not a major issue, since I CAN update the hardware.  But it sure seems odd, right?

Right, bit late to catch on but the app is a drag, right? I worked hard to pay for my delightful Sonos 5  some years ago but then past few months, I’ve been tearing my head out with intermittent connectivity and now volume control and I just gave up thinking it was me. Finally! I find some time to do some research and bam! I discover a sonos storm. When is my sound life going to resume to normal? I’m practically a luddite but I do like my sound. 

I have updated my App and speaker to the latest update.App: 80.16.32 (iOS)Speaker: 83.1-61130Current system versionBut on my speakers I have version 83.1-61210. This version is not available on their website at all. Which version do you have installed?  

I have a Connect and two Play:1 using the new app and firmware. I use a Samsung Android phone as controller. Starting Spotify playback directly on one of the Play:1 (paused on the same Play:1 earlier this morning from an alarm). Works fine. I then try to group the Connect to the Play:1 playing. Seems to accept it, but nothing happens playback wise on the Connect and the app ungroups them again after some time. Repeat many times - even get "system not found" one or two times though it find it again after 5-10 seconds - but no luck in grouping. Only the Play:1 actually plays.I stop the playback on the Play:1, then switch to the Connect, group it with the Play:1, find a playlist and start it - now it works. Is this still a known issue (one of many)? Other things: Opening the app always take at least 10 seconds with "device not found" until system becomes somewhat ready, extremely annoying though I know this is fast compared to some other users.

Hi,  I had a little fun with my Arc Ultra/Sub 4/Era 300 setup + Apple TV + Hisense c2 ultra.However I have a problem that is ... annoying.When I turn on my Apple TV using the Apple remote, the sound bar starts up fine. However, I have no sound with the “earc / automatic” setting. To get sound again I either have to change my source manually, but I lose the surround sound of the Era300, or deactivate/activate the “earc” in the projector settings. For your information, I have a 10M HDMI cable between the sound bar and my video projector: https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B08TGH1HDRIt's only a few seconds each time you turn it on, but ... it's not smooth and it's bothering me a bit. I started to use the Roon app to replace the Sonos app.It is working great on my Sonos speakers. Qobuz and Tidal have been much well integrated in Roon and it sounds really amazing.The Roon server is on my pc right now but I ordered the Roon Nucleus One to be my future server. On my iPhone I have the Roon app very easy to use where I am connected to my Qobuz and Tidal accounts. I have cancelled my Spotify subscription as Qobuz or Tidal have a better quality streaming.Any other with the same setup or experience?

Hello,I understand from what I know of Spotify Connect enabled devices that it’s pulling in the stream directly from the source (Spotify) as opposed to the device that initiated the stream (my cellphone -iphone12). However, it appears it’s not behaving correctly. I figured I would check with the Sonos community before hopping over to Spotify. ObservationCell phone connected to home network via Wifi. I started playing music on my Sonos speaker(s). I reset my cellular statistics I left the house for about 1-1.5 hours for a class (phone was idle)  Came back home and spotify still playing on Sonos speakers Checked cellular statics and it says Spotify consumed about 1GB of dataSpotify SettingsDatasaver was enabled Video podcasts - Download audio only set to true Video podcasts - Stream audio only = set to true (I don’t think I am subscribed to video podcasts) Playback

I have a question about how I can navigate to the album of a currently playing song from the “Now playing” screen?I can navigate to the artist of a current song by pressing the “three dots” button, but not to the album.I would appreciate a screenshot showing me the button or an acknowledgement that this functionality is currently not present.

Hi, Recently noticed that I cant see any songs in the queue. It's definitely playing them, but I cant view them or see what's coming up or choose a different song from the queue. I use  mainly amazon music and I'm sure this has only been an issue recently. Any ideas, suggestions, recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hello all, this is my first post here. I have 3 SL1 separates and a sub along with a sound bar. I previously had spectrum cable internet which I wasn’t happy with. Now previously before the WiFi update, everything worked perfectly! I upgraded the optical cord to a new one, and it still doesn’t work. I am at my wits end at this point and getting ready to call in to geek squad and see if they’ll do a house call.

I noticed that If I use airplay (or the Sonos app) to play music or podcasts on my Sonos speakers, then the next time I turn on the TV the sound will come from all of the speakers. I don’t want this. I want the sound only to come from the Arc Ultra soundbar, not speakers in other rooms. I have to manually deselect the other speakers in the app, even when I used airplay when I was using them. Is there a way to deal with this so that only the soundbar will be used automatically when using the TV, and if not will this be addressed?

Is there a solution for the Sonos dropping out constantly? We will be listening and it will just pause and stop the connection to the music. If I press play again the app says it’s connected but the music plays from the phone. Tried three different phones on two different versions of IOS but it’s been going on for months. It’s really frustrating because sometimes it’s fine, other times it will drop out five times in one song. 

Hi there,One of the main features I expect when playing music is that I can easily switch to the album related to the song currently being played. How does this work 8n the new app?When I play music, e.g. see below, and I click the 3 dots at the bottom right of the pop up window (see below) I get this screen this screen of course completely lacks any functionality related to the album.any ideas on how to work around this? Or does anyone know if this major feature will be added any time soon to the new app?

I recently ordered the new Sonos Arc Ultra, and I am looking for a TV mount that allows me to attach it directly to my TV. I have seen that the Sanus TV mount for Sonos Arc is a popular choice, but I am unsure whether it is fully compatible with the Arc Ultra.Has anyone successfully used the Sanus TV mount (or any other TV mounting solution) with the Arc Ultra? Are there any fitment issues due to design differences between the Arc and Arc Ultra?

Hi All!  new to Sonos and finally convinced my wife our family needs a home theater room and my 40th birthday present! Works all done but could use some guidance on where you would place the speakers. Have an arc ultra soundbar, sub 4, 2 era 300 speakers, mounting the arc ultra under an 85 inch sony. Was going to put the 300s about a foot to the left and right of theater chairs and the sub where it at in the picture, room is 18x12….. any feedback if agree or would do different please share!

I cannot reset my device. After turning on, the device shows a white flashing diode. It makes no sounds when turning it on and off. Attempting to reset does nothing. White LED keeps flashing.

I’m having the same issues many have reported to access my iTunes library, I can get it to recognise the library and play my tunes but as soon as the computer storing the files goes into standby the tracks still show but won’t play saying they have either been moved or the computer is off, even if I wake up the computer they still can’t be found, if I restart my computer the files are there and will play again this is on an IMac I used to use a Mac mini but the music library will not show up on this one no matter what I do and I have tried all the options to make it workthis is really spoiling my experience with Sonos and I’m too far into the brands products to go to another system

I’ve tried to add my support to all the other threads on this issue, but they’re all closed. Figured I might as well start another one!I have a Roam 2 which does the stuttering every time it connects after sleep. I can eventually get it to work without the stutter by trying various things - full power off, close app, attach to bluetooth then back to wifi, but this takes between 2 and 5 minutes, making the speaker pretty much unusable. The issue DOES happen on any wifi networks (i.e. other houses), and it DOES NOT happen with my Move or Arc on my home network. So I can only assume it’s an issue with the Roam. After reading all the forum comments I have no faith that a new one will fix the issue.

HiWhen using roam 2 in bluetooth mode and then pressing play pause button on a sonos one to play the same music through it,  which it does but keeps stuttering and breaking up ??The music on the roam remains stable.I  try exactly the same with a era 100..same position distance ect and its fine, no break up/ stuttering ? ( Using the roam as bluetooth device not the era....switched off)I have another sonos one and it does the same stuttering/ break up. It does the same whether I press play pause on speaker itself or pair in the app.The same applies( breaking up) if I use the era 100 in bluetooth mode instead of the roam 2 to play bluetooth to a sonos one.I've tried different music apps with my samsung galaxy phone and no luckAny help/ advice much appreciated

The move 2 speaker has been set up and connected to Wi-Fi successfully. I see how to stream music from the Sonos radio app but unless I use Sonos radio it looks like a brick to me. How would I stream from services such as Pandora or Qobuz? There are no instructions to be found anywhere. Thanks. 

Need some help with a networking issue. I have several Amps and speakers throughout the house, Amps and one Play 5 are hardwired. I'd love to hardwire my Arc that's paired with (2) Play 5s and a Sub in my Family Room as I experience cutouts at times. I added a 5-port switch behind the TV and hardwired the TV and Arc but immediately noticed it throttled every device to <5mbps. Immediately after unplugging the Arc, everything went back to normal. All my ports feeding Sonos devices have STP/CIST configured properly. Would configuring the port feeding the 5-port switch fix this while not causing issues for the non-Sonos devices?

I have a s1 system inncluding an old Connect.I have now bought a beam and a sub mini and want to upgade the system excluding connect and adding beam and sub. I understand that I shall establish a s1 system with the connect, this done by excluding the s2 compatiple units in the old system. But how do I set up the New s2 with the excluded units and the new Beam and sub?

I’ve connected my mixer to the port I have selected the input in the appI’ve selected the speakersi can see “music” signalenough volume input, output no sound at soeakersany suggestions to check?
