I would like to know if my Sonos One could be paring with a new Sonos Era that I want to buy. My question is if this two different models could be paring in order to sound together in different rooms. Thanks for your answers!

Two answers:

  • Only speakers of the same model can pair together in a stereo pairing (i.e. stereo sound in the same room)
  • But you can play music on both a Sonos One and a Sonos Era 100 (or 300) simultaneously in different rooms by grouping them together.

That is called Grouping, and yes, all Sonos devices can be grouped with any and all others, as long as they are on the same system.

Pairing is actually a different option in Sonos.  It allows you to semi-permanently bond two of the same models together as a stereo pair, with each speaker playing the left or right stereo channel.

Thanks jgatie for your quick response!
