Sorry to hear of the problem you are having with TruePlay Tuning your system.
You’ll see on our Trueplay-compatible devices and Sonos products help page, that most of the devices listed as unsupported are iPad Pros of various versions. As I understand it, iPad Pros do something different with how they handle the microphone hardware, and this difference prevents us from using them for TruePlay Tuning. As your iPad is not listed under those to be soon be supported, I think there is a good chance that it will not be.

Not if the iPad is running an old, unsupported version of iOS, no. Software requirements are software requirements - the app cannot think “oh, they’re only going to use TruePlay, so it’s fine,” and then load into an OS that is not fully prepared to run it.
