I have Beam + Sub + Ikea Symfonisk HT system and would really appreciate support for TruePlay in my Pad Pro (M4). My old iPad (Air gen 2) if just a tad too old (15.8 vs 16) and new one is to new, I really enjoy this system but lack of Trueplay is bummer. Beam does not have any support from Android, so I’m out of options for tuning my system.
Is there some realistic chance and ETA for Pro iPads to get support?

Sorry to hear of the problem you are having with TruePlay Tuning your system.
You’ll see on our Trueplay-compatible devices and Sonos products help page, that most of the devices listed as unsupported are iPad Pros of various versions. As I understand it, iPad Pros do something different with how they handle the microphone hardware, and this difference prevents us from using them for TruePlay Tuning. As your iPad is not listed under those to be soon be supported, I think there is a good chance that it will not be.

Ok, but why old iPad does not work anymore? Is it not possible to use it for that purpose only?
Not if the iPad is running an old, unsupported version of iOS, no. Software requirements are software requirements - the app cannot think “oh, they’re only going to use TruePlay, so it’s fine,” and then load into an OS that is not fully prepared to run it.
