Hi, I’m looking for some help. We have built a garden office and would like to extend our existing wifi down to it. It is approximately 40m from the house and so plan to run a Ethernet cable from the existing router, which is a BT Halo 3. We have fibre to the house so a strong link to the Internet. We have tried the BT wifi discs in the past but as documented elsewhere on this forum, they did not work well with our Sonos system. Ideally, we would like the WiFi extension to cover the garden area as well. I am not very tech savvie, and have got rather lost understanding what the best way to do this might be - mesh, bridge etc. I would be very grateful if somebody could offer a little bit of advice about how to do this without costing a huge amount of money and in a way that an IT numpty could follow! We currently have a mix of Sonos devices - 10 speakers in total, 2 of which are very close to the garden and so could pick up the new WiFi signal. Many thanks for your time and patience.

I have tried various solutions including Powerplugs.
The conclusion and solution was to run a Cat6 cable from the house, you can get outdoor versions from Amazon in 50m lengths. I then went with the Amazon EERO mesh system and have one in the house and another at the garden room end. Problem solved with high speed everywhere.
The most complicated bit was adding plugs to the lead. I bought a kit from amazon and its fidly but you only need to do two. Or a local electrician may be able to help. As for the cable I ran mine down the garden fence line and covered rather than buried it in soil. Lots of scrambling around in bushes and flower beds.
All well worth it..
