@controlav ’s 6 month report on the new app. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/sonos-mobile-app-six-month-report-andy-pennell-osszc “While there have been improvements in adding back some features lost in the 'upgrade', it still isn't the app it was six months ago. Still a lot of features missing (especially playlist support), still unreliable at finding the speakers on the network, and adding new bugs with each release. Which we really didn't need.”Yup.
The promise of updatable products is that it gives the ability to improve them over time. It also gives SONOS the ability to make perfectly good parts of the products useless because whoever is driving the development seems to have a narrow interpretation of the user community AND doesn’t understand that removing existing capabilties needs to be an absolute LAST resort. We used to be able to search for albums. Now, we get every hit in a single list with a picture of the album cover. Hopefully the name of the song or the album are short or we can’t tell whether it’s an album or a song because “(single)” will either appear or be lost in the “...”.Also, the whole ecosystem seems to be on a phone-like update cadence. Every time I go to use SONOS, something needs updating and so, when I was hoping to listen to music while spending a romantic hour or 2 with my wife (for example), I’m now thrust into the middle of a technology project. Lovely. Do I need to put a tickler on my calendar once a m
Short version: Does an affordable device exist that I can carry around my house to pinpoint the source of 2.4GHz signal that is interfering with my Sonos system?Long version:I’ve long had difficulty dropouts on my Sonos system. Sometimes it works fine, other times it’s intolerable. My inability to reproduce the problem reliably has made it very difficult to diagnose the source. Now I recently learned (or was reminded of) the Network Matrix, which shows the status of the connection of all my speakers. This I see provides critical information to help me diagnose the problem. This is my system. I’m using SonosNet with ethernet going to one Sonos One5 - Play:11 - Sub1 - Play:53 - Sonos One1 - Play:3Last night, the Matrix had red squares all over, indicating severe interference, and speakers were dropping out on and off all evening. I tried switching channels on both my Sonos system and my WiFi router, to no avail. Now, tonight, I have green and yellow squares and the dropouts aren’t
When I check my Netgear router it shows that I have one (or sometimes more) ZonePlayer ZP100 connected as wired devices. It also shows: two Sonos-One, a SonosZP Sub, a SonosZP Play:1, a SonosZP Entertainment (the devices on this list change often)I do not and never have owned a ZonePlayer device. In my configuration, I have an ethernet wire connecting to a Sonos One and everything else is connected to it via SonosNet. The full set is:5 - Play:11 - Sub1 - Play:5 with connected Sub3 - Sonos One (one of them wired)1 - Play:3My question is, why does my router show ZonePlayer(s)? (and why does the list of things fluctuate)
Can't switch from beta version to regular version, It still shows as beta. The beta version service said they will change the version, but still stuck on beta version thanks
Why is Sonos still out in Silverlake, Los Angeles? I am not able to access the system at all, I’ve unplugged and rebooted several times, it’s been days. System is totally down. I’m seriously considering getting rid of all my Sonos products. Never had this kind of trouble before. Been a loyal customer for well over ten years.
It’s impossible to get any answer on my refund. Sonos received all 5 speakers on Oct 8th and till now no reply on multiple emails I have sent out. Calling is a joke. They route to me all these different places and when I finally reach tech support since they are the only one that can transfer me to level 3 support and they keep telling me to call back in 30 min. cuz they are busy or on one is there. Extremely disappointed with sonos and will never purchase them again. They owe me $1,200 and I am not getting anywhere. Any suggestion on what I need to do?
It has been over a week and a half since I’ve been able to use my Sonos system. I contacted them immediately. 70 & 60 minute wait times over the phone. No help from the chat bot. The community is just a bunch of other folks like me that are screwed. Where is the customer support???FYI, Your case number is: ********For whatever that is worth. Moderator edit: recorded and removed case number - identifying information
Some Sonos Playlists are missing the header cover art. The ones that have this issue are the ones where the firsts tracks in the Sonos Playlist are from my local library.
Does Sonos have a customer service dept that will visit your home?
I own 14 Sonos devices and my system is “not found”. Nothing works! I have spent weeks trying to find a fix including 2.5 hours with Sonos customer support, who “escalated” my issue to level 2 which took another 2 weeks for an appointment, and then basically said it’s a “network” problem, not a Sonos problem which is total BS! My network people, said, it is NOT a network issue. I have had Sonos in my same home for 15+ years and it’s worked just fine. So now what? I’ve even tried fact resetting and re-connecting two speakers. It worked great for about 10 minutes…. Then the app could not find the system. The only way to turn the speakers off was to “unplug” them!! Am I the only one in this boat? I’m open to suggestions/solutions.
I have the latest release recently installed. Now about 5% of my music terminates 20 seconds prior to the end of the file and I get 20 seconds of silence prior to the next song queing up. Is this another known bug?
Has to be the most useless error message ever written. Sonos system is now unusable and Sonos don’t seem to care.
Can I return my Sonos system and receive a full refund Reasons, numerous phone calls with no good outcomes, always blaming Routers, phones, Pads, Boosters and the list goes on.Amazing no problems till they introduced the new App, check out how many pages on the Sonos system who have issues
This community Sonos page has become a joke with all the spam posts….page after page..I stopped at page 30…
Why is this Community so easily hijacked?
I have multiple Sonos speakers that I have owned for at least 6-8 years (multiple Play 1’s, a Play 3, a Beam). Originally the app was so simple to use, which is what an app should be for playing content over your speakers. Over the last year, the software updates have turned this simple and easy to use system into a complete disaster. The new software is really confusing and difficult to use. It’s like the tail is now wagging the dog (e.g. the tail is the software and the dog is/are the speakers). It like the folks running Sonos seem to think they are a software company and NOT a speaker company. This isn’t Tesla.I’m currently putting up with the frustration the software is causing, because I’ m so invested in the Sonos ecosystem. Something has to change!
So annoying my system went down. Sonos app says to go restart and add sonos products back. Hear chime and press button. What F**king button? Each one of the Sonos has multiple buttons. Then if you hit the wrong one you have to start over. And I have to do this for each one of my Sonos products. Just have to vent how sucky this is!!!
I am sure I can’t be the only one who is so frustrated by the new App. From connection issues between different systems, to multiple clicks to simply play music. Seriously guys - who created your latest app? It has gone backwards significantly. I have used Sonos for years and up until now would have recommended it. In its current state I would not.
It’s beyond time that this guy is fired. Are they waiting to become the new Blackberry ?I will not buy any product untill het get’s kicked out !He insulted us all with his being brave …
I had four Sonos Connect Amps that were eligible for the 30% upgrade credit. These credits have been viewable from my account. Over the past few years, I have been replacing them with Amps from resellers other than Sonos with the intention of accumulating those credits for a larger purchase, such as the Sonos Arc Ultra. Today, I attempted to purchase the Arc Ultra through my account and discovered that all 4 previously activated, 30% upgrade credits had been removed. Upon contacting support regarding this issue, they informed me that the devices must be actively registered on my account for upgrade eligibility. As an alternative, they suggested utilizing one of the available 15% offers from my current 18-zone system. This is despite their own website still claiming in faq the following - “Can I resell, gift, or donate my product after activating orusing my upgrade credit? Yes. The next registered owner will not beeligible for the Sonos Upgrade Program.”It’s been a tough summer & fa
I have been looking at the upgrade program to change from my Beam Gen 2 to the new Arc Ultra. After contacting Sonos customer services, they said that the Beam Gen 2 was not in the program yet and all my other Sonos products were too new. I just do not see Sonos' logic here. It is like they are punishing the customer who has invested recently into their ecosystem, but only reward customers that do not. They would not even offer any discount on the new item. It is incredibly disappointing that they treat their customers like this after all the issues we have had to go through with their App recently as well!
What are all these posts about??
With the most recent updates I have to say that things are just about back to the way they were before "reconstruction ". Lots of unnecessary frustration and anger along the way. And the thing is, Sonos brought it on themselves. Hope they learned a lesson. I contacted Sonos tech support a few days ago and it was actuality a good experience.
Hi all, just after a little vent so it's on here, and maybe some help in case I'm missing something obvious. So, apologies in advance, but like a lot of people I have been using Sonos for a very long time, with my current system consisting of 8 speakers covering three rooms, all with voice assistant, and I have never had any issues with functionality until the dreaded App-Gate.Now, considering I chose Sonos for it's reliability as well as it's sound, dropping from an entirely Linn system (just because of size), I have always been impressed with he sound for such small speakers, and in my experience it's faultless streaming and room functionality.Since the app, like most I started having a lot of issues, and was disappointed they removed certain features, HOWEVER, I keep reading about updates and read one this morning about Sonos saying they have 90% functionality back, but am I the only one who's system keeps going screwy!? The other day my speakers wouldn't respond, and although this
