Controllers and Music services

Suddenly the Android app just spinns and says "something went wrong". When i play from my Mac through AirPlay, everything is ok. I have restarted router, re-installed app and i see my speakers in the app, but it just spinns.  Thanks for help and advice. 

SENT TO CEO@SONOS.COM  I have never been a litigious person in my life but I think I would join in a class action suit against Sonos for What you have done to your users with this new app.  You have breached your agreement and trust with customers Rendering in many cases, thousands of dollars of expensive equipment virtually useless.  Why in Gods name did you make a major change to an app that has caused such confusion and operational problems.   First you introduced it no option of retaining the older app which worked just fine.  Then you admitted terrible operational errors that needed multiple fixes and to this day doesnt work well.  My music services cut out unexpectedly without recovering. Some of my speakers need multiple restarts to connect. There are substantial connection delays.  I have changed channels.  rebooted systems multiple times. Hello, I get the following error: “Your system cannot connect to content”. I tried to restart the speaker and the app, but nothing changed. It works to play from airplay, but not from the app. Please let me know what could I do.  Thank you,Stefan

Okay, this is going to be long. Like many of you I have hit the wall on the NAS issue.  Don’t let them lie to you about SMB.  It is 100% about indexing.Normal folder structure of Artist/Album/Song craps out quickly.  The meta-data is just too large for the crappy app So I copied songs individually to folders.  First couple of folders could do about 1000 songs. Works perfect. Can index these songs. If you do more than that it fails.  So this is a VOLUME issue, not a SMB issue So I created a few more Folders with 1000 or so songs in them and was able to index those.  Fine By the time I was at 5 Folders, needed few and few songs per folder Stupid, terrible, unfriendly app craps out at 16 folders (hard max) I can’t prove it, but it seems like things loaded better if I cleaned up some special characters that were part of the song names.So I can get roughly 9,000 of my 22,000 songs into SONOS.In the mean time, the help chat continues to spread the lie that this is about SMB.  If that was tru

Well after investing probably circa £2k on Sonos speakers over the years I’m left completely exasperated by the utter uselessness of the black app.    It is truly shocking by comparison to the rust coloured app that preceded it.  It cuts out all the time, stops working when it feels like it, and changes songs midway through.  What a great update Sonos team……errr I don’t think so.   What has angered me most is the removal of the ability to add songs your currently playing to your own playlist.  Call me old fashioned but in any music app surely the first thing is should do is allow you to add to your own playlist. Not a bloody Sonos one that doesn’t even work correctly. All the decent functionality was removed and replaced with utter crap.  What I really don’t understand is how the tech people and the board are still in office.  Yes the CEO wrote out to say sorry but didn’t you consult your client base first.  Surely the first rule in business is to meet the needs of your customers. Today, my app tells me that I need to reauthorize the TuneIn app because account access has expired.  I follow the simple on screen process that takes me to the TuneIn website to authorise the connection but I get a message saying the pairing didn't work"Something went wrong when trying to pair to your Sonos System.Please return to the Sonos app and try again using the same credentials."Anyone know how to fix this?Thanks

i’ve spent the last 2,5 hours trying to get apple music working inside of the sonos app (i’ll leave the new app with all it’s flaws for another day). with how difficult it is to get it to work i feel it’s actively trying to prevent from using apple music inside of the sonos app, there’s no other way to conclude. everytime i try to sign in it downright refuses to get the authorization in. Everything from changing the DNS to rebooting router, the sonos system itself, trying an android device and the thought of factory resetting my entire account has driven me to the forum. i’m out of suggestions for what i could try. at what time frame can we expect somewhat of a usable state of the app and all features that used to exist?

I’ve had one playlist that I have been adding to for years called NYE. I went to play it today, and all of a sudden none of my created playlists are in my list anymore!! I had saved songs there that I haven’t saved anywhere else.

Ever since this new update, Sonos is impossible to work with this new stupid app. Why was it changed? It worked, so you hired somebody to break what was working. Go work for the government because you suck at what you do. 

Until the major update to the Sonos App months ago my Arc was happily playing music from a set of music libraries I had set up on a MacMini connected via Ethernet. Then the libraries, and any way of adding them disappeared from the App. More recently the means of adding a library has returned but when I try to re-add the libraries I get the error ‘Unable to connect. Check the user name and password’. I am using the latest version of the App on my iPhone.Needless to say the path name, user name and password are all the same as used before, and have been rechecked many times. I have switched on and off everything multiple times. I have rechecked all the file sharing permissions & SMB enabled multiple times. In short the only thing that has changed is the App.As my Arc sits there silent month after month I am getting more and more fed up, when is this going to be fixed.

Hi All, just thought I would post a work around for Sonos MacOs desktop software. Due to the fact that without so complex work around of tricking the software that you are using a NAS drive in order to access your local files I find bypassing the Sonos MacOs app completely and just using Mac Music software and changing the output to the Sonos speaker (see image). the benefit of this is Mac playlists are accessible.  I have now given up using Sonos software. I still believe the hardware is good quality. the software issues have go on for to long. may switch to Mac speakers in the future 

Sonos app is playing Spotify queue through whole system even though Spotify is disconnected, no search function is available and no option to exit. Help…

We have one sonos system set up in our apartment in the city, and another at our weekend home. If someone is listening in the city, and another is listening at the weekend home, one will get disconnected. How can I correct this?

(also tried “Always” under Location)I’ve had two Play 1’s for a while now. Firmware is up to date, on same network. Plus phone is on same network as speakers.I just did a fresh setup for one of them.After all the steps, it was connected. Plays from app. Perfect, done.However, it asked to “Allow Sonos to detect nearby products.” And, for some reason I don’t understand, said microphone was necessary to “detect nearby products.” (See pic). Microphone detects products? Okay, I allowed everything.But, it’s not detecting any nearby products.Airplay isn’t working either (iOS) and it used to all the time. I know it now says airplay is “not supported,” but I used to stream straight from my iPad files folder by going to the “Now Playing” section on the iPad and choosing “Sonos.”Thanks   

Like many, I have been experiencing Apple Music songs skipping in my playlists, one of the many delights of the new app. Many songs were greyed out in the playlists and did not play. I don’t know if this will apply to anyone else, but I found a solution that works for my system.I remembered that for some reason I had four separate Apple Music systems showing up as “connected accounts” in Service Settings -- even though they all connect to the same Apple Music account, same login and password. (No idea how that happened, but that had been the case for many years. It had never caused an issue until recently.)I tried to delete all Apple Music systems except my Primary Account. The app did not allow that (why? who knows!).So I reauthorized each of them, keeping only one as my primary account.That has solved the issue with my playlists - all my Apple songs now play!Note, I previously tried rebooting all my speakers, router, deleting and reinstalling the app, etc, with no joy. TLDR: If you a

When will Sonos finally introduce a volume equalizer so that a uniform volume is always guaranteed, even when the song is changed?Like with Spotify: Audio normalization balances out quiet and loud songs for a more consistent listening experience.

My Apple TV with TVOS18 connect with Airplay to my Sonos One, my Sonos Era 100 and my Sonos Roam and doesnt have any sound in any app in my TV. I have the latest version in my app Sonos and in my speakers.Does anyone have the same problem? Somebody knows how to fix it?

Does anyone encouter the issue that the volume suddenly becomes silent when using Sonos App plays Apple Music? sometimes the volume may even surge to the maximum. It seems that I started to have this kind of issue as recently as IOS 18 is launched.My system is arc, sub mini and era 300s. However, there is no issue when playing Apple Music in my another system: sonos onesAnyone knows why? thanks
