Hi there

I have installed the Sonos app 2 days ago and cannot find and therefore add BBC Sounds as a service. My address is clearly showing as based in the UK. Can you advise.please?

Chris

When other major services disappeared from the list of services to add, even though my address looked ok in the Sonos web profile, I edited it and saved. Then about 24 hours later the services appeared again for adding. Someone also wrote that if you check for updates in the Sonos app it should force an update on the service list. (I didn’t want to update the firmware at the time).

BBC Sounds seems to be available only in the UK and some islands but I’d try editing the address in the Sonos web profile just in case it’s a similar issue. (And then alternative resetting the app if that doesn’t help).

Have you gone to

Account,

Content Services,

Add Content Service

then Select Radio and BBC Sounds should be in the list

I’m in the UK and BBC Sounds is no longer available for me too. I uninstalled all my services with a view to reinstalling them again one-by-one. A futile clutching at straws attempt to see if it would help the dreadful app work a bit better. Now I have no way of playing Radio 4. Radio 3 seems to be on Sonos Radio - but cannot find Radio 4.

why has BBC sounds disappeared?

I’m based in the UK too and I see the BBC Sounds service here in the Sonos App. See attached screenshot.

Maybe check your Sonos App is up-to-date and ensure the country setting in your Sonos online profile is set to United Kingdom …and then try signing out/in on the Sonos App, or even try resetting the Sonos App and see if that resolves the issue.

After reset be sure to connect the App back to the existing Sonos system on the local network.

Not sure if “myTuner Radio” service plays all the stations in the UK that I’m able to play but have you checked if Radio 4 was there for you and worked through that if the BBC sounds service still doesn’t appear?

Thank you for the replies.

Ken - it was working for me as in your screen shot. The problem is that I uninstalled it and then it was no longer available to reinstall. This is still the situation. Sonos customer service don’t have a clue.

Dunno, but I still see the BCC sounds option in the list of services to install/re-install - did you try the things I mentioned earlier?

I don’t see BBC Sounds on the Services list.  Of course I don’t live in the BBC.

Yes. I have to call customer services next week and they need to remote into my system apparently. I’ll let you know how it goes. Thank you.

Tried again today and - as if by magic - it’s back! Must have just been a temporary glitch.

It sometimes takes 24 hours after a profile address update - so that might have been the reason. An App reset usually speeds up the switchover.

I have the same problem. I’ve reset my account to no avail, and my profile shows I’m in the UK. I’ll try again tomorrow evening to see if it’s refreshed, but it’s not great that it’s so hard to get that content into the app.

Still got the problem. It’s annoying I have to use the web interface to set my address, which had Norway for some bizarre reason.

I’ve gone as far as uninstalling the app, restarting my phone & reinstalling it.

Still no BBC sounds. Very, very unimpressed, and I have a feeling Support won’t impress me either. However I’ll give them a shot. My personal view is someone, somewhere, has made a mistake in the stuff that determines what services get listed.

How do you call customer services? Can’t find a clue on the Sonos website.

I stopped using all my Sonos speakers around 2 years ago because of this. Support was little use, I gave up as just didn’t have time to keep on reinstalling the app etc. now have 4 expensive paper weights in my house,

sonos will loose a lot of uk customers if they don’t fix this after years of issues
