Hi, my Sonos-App on iOS shows the following under Settings → Switch System

  • Sonos System (1) 15 Rooms]
  • Sonos System (2) 25 Rooms]

So if i switch between the systems, nothing obviously changes in the app. If run “Forget System” in the app and “Join an existing system”, it shows “Multiple Systems found” and then lists all my Era 100s and Arc Ultra in System one system, and my 2 Sonos One SLs in another system. When i join any of them, my app is like before (i.e. i see all rooms and speakers and can control them)

If they are split, some things can be only done by actively switching the systems, for example if i want to unpair or pair my One SLs into a Stereo set, that only works if i switch to Sonos System (2) (which contains only the One SLs i believe).

I already tried factory resetting one of the two One SL and before re-adding it to a system and i made sure i’m in Sonos System (1) before adding the One SL, however, after forgetting the system and rejoining, it still shows them listed in Sonos System (2) - so i’m certain this didn’t work.

I would like to have one unified system with all speakers in it. How can i achieve this?

I’m having trouble following exactly what your setup looks like, but  factoring resetting all the devices in the ‘wrong’ system so that they can be added as new products in the ‘right’ system is what I would recommend.  If you’ve only factory reset the speakers, not added them to the ‘right’ system yet, then I would not fret at still seeing the speakers in the app under the ‘wrong’ system.  They won’t be removed from the app until you add them to the ‘right’ system (although you can go in manually remove them if you choose)

To state a different, factoring resetting the devices does not involve the app.  The app doesn’t know that the device has been factory reset, or perhaps has just been temporarily unplugged, etc.  It won’t know till the device is setup on a different system or you explicity tell the app you don’t want the device in your system anymore.

That said, if you’re still having issues, it may be valuable to get a diagnostic from both systems, then contact support so they can walk you through the process of converting your speakers into one system.

I’m having trouble following exactly what your setup looks like,

I currently have 2 Systems:

  • Sonos System (1)
    • Arc Ultra
    • Era 100
    • Era 100
    • Era 100
  • Sonos System (2)
    • One SL
    • One SL

I want to achieve this:

  • Sonos System (1)
    • Arc Ultra
    • Era 100
    • Era 100
    • Era 100
    • One SL
    • One SL

but  factoring resetting all the devices in the ‘wrong’ system so that they can be added as new products in the ‘right’ system is what I would recommend.

I mean that’s what i tried, as i wrote:

I know but that’s not what i try to achieve. I want them in the app, but under the umbrella under only one system. I assume the Speaker is added to the whichever system the app is currently using (or switched to) when adding a speaker.

or you explicity tell the app you don’t want the device in your system anymore.

How can i do that? Than i would try this and re-adding again.

Hm, was hoping there is an easier way that i just don’t know.

Now that you have Factory Reset all of the units in the unwanted system, I suggest that you uninstall the controller. As you reinstall the controller, connect to the existing system, don’t setup a new system. Now you’ll be able to add all of the Factory Reset units. The existing system will retain all of your music system registrations SONOS playlists. Don’t Factory Reset any of the existing system units.

This will be tedious. You can avoid some of the tedium by enabling the Installer Setup.

Again, I want to reiterate that once you’ve factory reset your speakers, don’t be concerned that they still appear in the wrong system on the app.  Go ahead and set them up in the right system.  If the speakers are still not working then you need to contact Sonos support.

I could not find the support article on how to tell the app to forget a specific speaker.  You don’t need to do this though.  Here is the article on how to tell the app to forget a system.
