If I use Apple Music or Spotify I have to constantly adjust the volume of songs. Very annoying. I never had that on my Sonos units at home but do at the office. If I connect via bluetooth it seems to be more consistent but via the Sonos app it’s ridiculous. I have a lot of older Sonos equipment so still using the original App. Don’t know if upgrading the equipment would make a difference. Again, same equipment at home and works fine.

Any advice is welcome.

Thanks

Hello @hrr1, welcome back!

I’m sorry to hear about your experience with the volume requiring adjustment between songs.

I should mention that in a bigger room at louder volume, it's probably harder to tell the difference as compared to sitting at home in a quiet environment.

I do not believe that upgrading the equipment would make a difference and also, Sonos does not normalize volume, so it should be down to something outside our reach.

But what you can do is, after experiencing this inconsistency in volume between songs, Submit Diagnostics within 10 minutes and reach out to our Support Team.

They can have a look and confirm if there was a change from the Sonos-side.

I hope this helps.

OK, it’s happening all the time so I’ll submit a diagnostic and see what they tell me. It is dramatic, not subtle so that it doesn’t happen in one place but happens when at work and I have to constantly adjust the volume song to song, well, it’s very frustrating. It does seem to be much more dramatic on playlists I create as opposed to preselected playlists. Again, no idea why but maybe that provides some clue.

Thanks,
