Controllers and Music services

Hi, my first post and previous threads on this topic were either old or had comments turned off so here goes.  Although working well, none of my collections album art shows on the Android app.  The build is 80.11.33 and previous posts/comments seem to infer that rolling back to a previous version would solve the issue.  So my question is: has anyone solved the issue or is reverting to a previous build the answer?  I suppose if the answer is yes then the remaining question is how is this achieved?   

So, I’ve been getting used to the incremental improvements to the S2 controller and can now play my old Sonos Playlists on my system (3 x Amps plus a Play 3). What I can’t work out though, is how to create a new playlist (ive currenty got 5 or 6 playlists mostly rock or 80s stuff).I want to create my own Christmas playlist but don’t seem to be able to now. I can’t even add/delete songs to my existing playlists to modify one of them into a Christmas list. Any ideas welcome…. 

I sat down again and tried to import my iTunes playlists. Again without success. I've gradually had enough.Macbook Pro M1 with Sequoia 15.1.1; iTunes playlist is on an external hard drive (../Data2/Music). Sonos 16.4.2. About 50k songs.Sonos refuses to import with error 113When trying to connect the library via network drive connection it does only import Artists and songs but no Playlists. And it does not actualise it regularly.Does anyone have any ideas?I have various speakers and an ARC and have been using the stuff for a long time - but at the moment the whole thing is only good for listening to the radio.Even playing directly from iTunes only works sometimes. Sometimes the connection to the speakers is established, sometimes not. It's all extremely frustrating.

I have two BBC Sounds accounts that I use mostly for testing, but I get very different results on four different apps. If I go into it then Discover Podcasts (or Music You’ll Love):iOS: works 100%Android: works 100% but dates are missing from podcasts (just shows length in mins)Windows Desktop: “Unable to browse music” for both list types (all others work)play.sonos.com: BBC Sounds not even listed as a service. Of course I tried my own apps and I get similar results to the official Windows app (due to empty xml being returned). Can someone located in the UK try these and compare results?

I use Apple Music and the app only allows 1 song to be played at a time. This was never a problem before. I can’t be expected to hit play after every song. What’s the problem? 

I have completed all of the proper network sharing options on my laptop for my "music library" to be accessible.  I can see it on my work laptop, my MacBook Air, and PC media center. I can access the whole library, play individual songs, playlists or what ever I want with no problem. Now for the "phone apps" - For some reason when I touch the "music library" on any of my phones, as soon as I tap on any selections (songs, artists, playlist, composers, genres, etc.) I get an exclamation point in a circle and the message is ALWAYS "something went wrong."  I would really like an answer to why this is always happening on the phone apps and litterally NEVER happening on the PCs or Macs.  Don't try and blame my network settings. I am very network savvy and I've additionally already troubleshot everything with a network professional that is on the top of their game.  If you want to just admit that the phone apps are still garbage or that all the bugs are not work

Issue​​​​​​​The Sonos app has repeatedly been unable to find my new Era 100 speakers after using Spotify Connect. I would then have to reboot the speakers. This wasn’t an issue with my Sonos Ones. It could be a coincidence with the new app architecture? Not sure if this is an app or speaker issue. How to reproduce the issueHave Sonos speakers already set up in the Sonos app and connected/appearing. Go to Spotify and tap Spotify Connect Select relevant speakers Play music for a few minutes Check Sonos app and see its working Pause music and leave it for a few hours - Spotify Connect should auto disconnect from the speakers Go back and attempt to use Spotify Connect to connect to the same speakers, at this point the speakers have disappeared. Go to check in Sonos

 before Sonos updated the app in May, the stability and functionality was great. Since this update there has been lots of issues and some of them have been fixed and some have not and we’ve also talked about them on here.What is annoying is that all my album art that is stored on my local drive, is not showing from my NAS library and it used to work fine? It actailly works through Plex, but I prefer to use my own library, as I’ve got my own playlists that I’ve created over the years….Do we know when this will be fixed please?

I just ran the updater (desperate to solve the big problems that started awhile ago). It got to “Updating Controller: Installing” and the progress bar is 100%. But nothing more has happened for ca. 30 min. Could it be stuck? Absent any feedback from the installer, I’m getting tired of waiting.

Hi. Does anyone else have the issues where the Sonos app is fine for a week but crashes, very consistently, once a week? It requires a delete and reinstallation then works again for a week before we repeat. I’d love to avoid it, what am I doing wrong?I’m on an apple iPhone 15 Pro with the latest OS 18.1.1. Problem has been consistent through the last several OS and app updates and pre-existed OS 18. 

I can access them on the desktop app (Mac) and I can access my NAS music library fine. Just my Sonos playlists appear in IOS but once I hit play it just spins endlessly

My system seems to experience issues fetching information from Sonos servers. But is this because of the new router or could it be that there are/have been intermittent issues at Sonos end this weekend? Details:I’ve been using a new Asus RT-AX59U router since yesterday 7.12.2024 1 pm UK time. Air Fairness, QoS, and Smart Connect are disabled.I set it up to use the same SSID and password as the old router. All 4 x Sonos One + Port connected at the time in the new app without issues. All are on 2.4 GHz, 20 MHz width. Sonos devices have reserved leases in the DHCP server. I have the app on Android, 2 x ipad, 1 iphone 14 pro.Problems started yesterday evening: Sonos Voice control reacts quickly to “hey Sonos, play” and “hey Sonos, stop” and works BUT commands that to me need information from the internet do not work: “hey Sonos, how’s the weather” or “hey Sonos, what’s playing” would return many seconds later along the lin

Since Sonos has had all kinds of issues my SiriusXM drops or stops playing all the time and is very frustrating. I have tried deauthorizing the account. Even called SXM to have them create me a new account and nothing seems to help. Music will just stop playing and I can’t switch to a different XM channel to try and get it to play. It will just time out. Some times I can switch to a different service and then go back but that is hit & miss also. This past year of XM on Sonos has literally sucked. I can play XM no problem through the XM app on my phone. Anyone else experiencing this. My internet service is T-Mobile and I have heard the the cellular services can cause this but I have had this a long time and just this year when all the Sonos problems started happening so did this. Would love some help here. 

I don’t know if it’s just me but every time I use the App, which is every day, something doesn’t work like it should. I’m talking about basics like getting sound out of speakers/rooms selected and adjusting volume. What is the f’ing problem? It’s been 6 months since Sonos promised to fix it and it is still a horrible experience trying to get everything to work. I just want to be able to listen to music without worrying about out whether the sound will come out where I want it and at a volume I can control.Right at this moment I have music playing in three rooms and the only way to control volume is to physically walk to each speaker to make adjustments. In the App, the sliders don’t show volume levels and do not allow adjustments. WTF. I know I’m not alone when I say that wish I could get my thousands of dollars back that I have invested. This company has failed all of us loyal supporters. The sound is great but it’s no longer an enjoyable experience to engage with the App. T

Hi,I recently bought an LG Oled G4 and a Sonos Beam Gen2.Bar is connected trough hdmi earc port.When playing some hbo max content in dolby atmos, I only get Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 label in sonos app, but not Dolby Atmos.Also,I notice that I need to set the volumen around 40-50, it  iis lower than other entries.I am using the streaming apps in webOS, not third party devices.what I am doing wrong?

I have a Samsung TV with a HDMI-Earc port for my Sonos system. I have a Spectrum DVR box connected to the TV. My Sonos system is a Sonos ARC, a Sub Mini and 2-Era 100’s for surround sound.I am having 2 issues that happen from time to time, but not always. #1) Sometimes when I power up the DVR box and TV, normally there is a pause for the sound until the TV connects to the Sonos system and then the sound would come out of the Sonos system. Sometimes the sound is muted. And what I have been having to do is to unplug the HDMI from the Sonos Arc and plug it back in. Then the TV will recognize the system and all will be OK. #2 problem) While we are watching something we recorded on the Spectrum DVR box, after fast forwarding through the commercials, when you would play, there might be no sound. What we have been having to do for this problem is hit like pause, then play. Or back up a little and then forward. Stuff like that to get the sound to play again. I am

Hi,I’ve been fighting with this for the best part of 2 days now after upgrading my old Sonos system, replacing  a connect with a port and adding an ERA 100 and replacing S1 app with the new thing. I’ve always kept my music on a NAS drive so that I can share it more easily(I play in a band and we record our practice sessions and ideas) and so that it doesn’t take over system drives.My system consists of a Windows 10 computer, an android tablet, an iphone 15 and a macbook pro. After about ½ a day I finally managed to get Sonos to see the USB drive on my Macbook pro but there seems like no way that it will look at the NAS drive connected to the router.Is it even possible to still access a NAS drive? I’ve looked at all of the advice online that I can find but nothing seems to work :-(As an ex software designer/developer I often wonder whether companies do any testing at all before they release new software and firmware.Now from being rather fond of Son

Since the last update 80.02.05 which happened 6/24 I can no longer update nor create or save any old or new alarms. I thought everything was fixed until they messed everything up again with the latest update. Does anybody else have this problem? This is extremely frustrating seeing how Sonos could be so incompetent...these updates.

I have just updated my Sonos system from old S1 components to latest ERA3 etc - which sound great by the way - but I cannot get the new controller app to upload my music library from my Wondows PC - I had this function with the old S1 controller but I cannot get the library to opulate in the new updated app.  It says that the music library is beign shared but it remains empty. I have tried numerous means to do this by following info on this site but nothing is working. Very frustrating

I have Sonos since almost 10 years. Never a problem. Since the interface changed (with same smartphone-iPhone):can’t read my playlists. Jumping from a title to another without being able to read titles that actually can be read individually outside the playlist remote control of volumes and others very slow. Effectively lowering volume 5 -10 seconds after lowering it remotely. is anyone experiencing same?thanks

When using AirPlay through the Tidal app, I’m able to connect to my non-AirPlay compatible speakers (Play:1, Connect, Sonos IKEA and Roam). Yet, when I AirPlay through the Sirius/XM app, I only see my compatible ERA 100 & Beam gen 2. 

Updated my Mac to Sequoia 15.0.  I have lost all music from my libraries. I re-added the path- no luck. Anyone experience this?

How can an audio system that sounds so great have the primary method to manage this system on a mobile app that NEVER works. My app will not:stay connected to my wifi that is never down remember any of the systems I set up remember any of the devices I set up can rarely FIND my devices I’ve had in my home for yearsIt has NEVER worked for any reasonable amount of time. Extremely frustrating. I really regret investing in so many Sonos devices.  smh
