S1 compatibility with Sequoia 15.1 OS fix?

After two calls and several hours on the phone with Sonos, I cannot connect the library to Sonos S1.

Sometimes Sonos doesn’t find the existing system and posts a firewall problem. There is no firewall.

I have made Music folders shareable, granted Sonos full disk access, and rebooted everything.

Has anyone found the magic settings to make the system work? If so, please share.

Hello @Sawyer704, welcome to the Sonos Community!

I am sorry to hear you are having issues setting up your Music Library to your Sonos S1 system.

I’ve had a look internally and found your escalated case, on which I requested for someone to reach out to you.

I hope you get sorted soon.

S1 requires SMBv1 to share your Music Library share.  I’m not Mac so not sure how SMBv1 would be activated.

I’ve been waiting a long time for a Sonos to reach out.

I too updated my Mac to Sequoia.  I have an S1 system and it can no longer connect with my music library, however I can still play Pandora and my connected turntable.

I spent 58 minutes on hold to talk to a Sonos help agent and then after 66 more minutes of him remotely messing around in my computer he could not fix the problem.  After he was done my computer was so messed up I had to call Apple support to try to fix it.  I had to restore my Mac to 2 days prior.  Sonos needs to figure out what the conflict is with Sequoia and get their agents up to speed.

MacOS has a new feature which will block the Sonos apps. Go to Settings, find the Sonos app, and enable “Local Network” permissions.

Once again Apple introduce an app-breaking change along with a very poor user experience.

There is no official Sonos app in the App Store, never had been. Download it from their web site.

controlav - what you suggest does not work.  That is the same thing the help agent tried and idid not work then and it does not work now.  Sonos and Apple need to get their engineers together and figure out a way to fix this.

Cannot access music on external HD since I got new iMac with Sequoia OS.  Tried many things, such as Enabling HD & turning on full access to S1.  No joy!

I got mine to work through wifi when the music library was on an external drive on another Mac running Mojave, but not when the library is on a drive attached to the the Sequioa machine. I’m pretty fed up fooling around with this, and am likely to dump Sonos, forever…..
