Controllers and Music services

When I try shuffle a playlist with more than around 100 tracks in the Sonos app it malfunctions. The app adds thousands and thousands of tracks, up to 35,000 which are presumably just duplicates of what's in the playlist. And it just shuffles a few tracks from the playlist repeating them over and over. It's impossible to clear the playlist while it's doing this as well. What's going on? Is there a fix?The playlist in the photo actually has around 1800 tracks but by the time I took the screenshot Sonos was already up to 11400 in the queue and was still adding more.  

I have an older system. I have 4 stand alone Play 1; 2 stand alone Play 3; Playbar and Sub and have 2 Play 1s as the rears surround for the Playbar. All must be Gen 1 as all pieces are about 15 yrs old.  i have been using the system with S2 controller and its a disaster. Sometimes will work and then all of a sudden will stop playing and disconnect OR will start and stop playing. Very inconsistent and the app is very slow to connect to my phone. It’s just not reliable.  Is this happening because of the S2 app? Are my speakers too old or do I have too many speaker connected to the S2 app? Should I downgrade back to S1 app? I never used to have problems with original app but since I’ve connected these speakers to S2 I think that may be the issue.  please assist. Thank you in advance. 

Just recently, every day when I try to switch on my Sonos sound system it doesn’t work. The only way I can get it all working is Ito restart my wi-fi system and then everything works. It’s not my wi-fi system that isn’t working as everything else connected to my router works just fine. It just seems to disconnect from my Sonos system until I restart it. I’ve never had to this before, why would this be. Any ideas anyone?

Hi, Because of the YouTube Music podcast playback error, I was looking for an alternative way to listen to my podcasts. This turned out to be TuneIn, where I almost have them all.Unfortunately, after the initial joy, I'm experiencing the same thing: not all podcasts can be handled by the app, and it displays the same error as YouTube Music. I guess the uninstall/reinstall the service is not the best way to manage this issue.Any ideas?Thanks.Ferenc

I used to listen to The Florida Roundup, produced by WLRN, on Sonos through iHeart radio.  Then it was unavailable.  I have tried to find it on all my sonos services, but it wont play on Sonos.  I can play it directly on apple podcasts or iHeart podcasts.  Tried to add TuneIn to Sonos to play it, but that didnt work either.  Come on  Sonos, make it easier for us to use!  How do I get my podcast??

I have an older generation Connect running on the S1 app and my newer Port, Ray, Roam and One SL speakers running on the S2 app. Everything has been working fine until this week. Now, whenever I try to open the S1 app to control the Connect, a screen pops up telling me to switch to the S2 app. I cannot cancel this screen to switch to the S1 app so therefore cannot play through the Connect. I haven't changed any settings, it seems to have happened randomly. The Connect cannot be added to the S2 system. How do I fix this so I can use the S1 app to control the Connect?

We use the sonos 1 app with our sonos system which is 11 years old.   A couple of days ago it has stopped connecting to the app.  How can I fix this?  Thanks

It takes forever to respond to inputs and tonight I have no control over the volume. Every time I play music there is an issue with the app. It is one of the worst apps I’ve ever experienced. 

I also have the problem of long delays or failures in changing speakers or changing music. My question is whether giving the Sonos speakers fixed IP addresses would help. I would appreciate anyone’s thoughts or experiences with this. Thanks!

I’m trying to access radio stations (both on Australia’s ABC) but keep getting blocked by a message on the app that says “Your Sonos Radio account access has expired. Reauthorise your account to access this service” with two options: reauthorise or cancel.Choosing reauthorise only leads to “account not found” with the only option being: done. So it’s a frustrating circle!

When are you going to fix it....

I’ve been using SoundCloud and Sonos for 8+ years with no real issues. Last week I was asked to reauthenticate which I have done and now a couple of DJs I follow I can no longer access their weekly sets through the Sonos app. I can always download the podcast and save locally but it is strange that it has only just happened. My system is all Sonos S1. FYI it is Markus Schulz - Global DJ Broadcast.Thanks in advance.

I'm being asked to sign in to manage music even though it's saying I'm signed in?System Been set up brand new for 5years?

If your CR200 controller won’t charge, or appears to only charge intermittently, try the following:With the controller resting in its cradle, select restart from the advanced settings menu.  It will then restart and charge. Well it certainly works for ours.

How come only part of my YouTube songs are shown on Sonos?

My iPhone and iPad apps are inconsistent. They can see the speakers but sometimes, often but not always, can’t see my music library (on a NAS) or stream from on line services. On the home page sometimes my music library is not shown under “Your Sources”; sometimes it is but I can’t then see tracks, albums, artists etc. I can always seem to run the system from my laptop. I have rebooted the router; stopped and restarted the app; made sure everything is up to date.System is as follows:Beam; Play:1; Five; Playbar; 2 Roams; Play 3; and a Boost which is wired in. System ran fine for years and I would guess the problems started a couple of months ago. Help!!!!   

Lots of posts on this but here is what I learned after many hours…The Sonos tech support site is wrong on how to fix this issue.  Their first step tells you to go to Windows support and add a local user account.  Then apply that account to file sharing.  What they fail to say is that when you install Sonos, a local user account named “Sonos Wireless HiFi System” is created.So here is how I solved the issue: Go to your Music folder on your PC  Right click and select properties  Select Sharing tab  Select the share button (NOT advanced sharing as Sonos tells you...) In the blank space next to the greyed out “Add” button, select the down arrow \/ You should then see “Sonos Wireless HiFi System” show up in the box below - click on that and select “add” Select the Share Button at the lower right to complete the process You will then see it take some time to share the folder and it may ask if you want

Hello -Wondering if anyone else is experiencing the the issue where you start an album/stations/playlist from Apple Music and after a random amount of time (sometimes in the first 30 seconds, and other times 5-10 mins), the song stops playing on the speaker(s), but the app shows that the song continues to play (this will continue on forever if I am playing a station). Music doesn’t start again from the speaker(s) until I start a new album/station/playlist.  I’m pretty sure this started with the new app update, but I can’t be totally sure as I do a fair amount of airplay music playing (which seems completely uneffected).  Here are the steps I have done to try and fix/debug this issue:Tried Amazon and TuneIn and both worked fine. Restarted app Tested multiple speakers (grouped and ungrouped) Restarted router/modem Restarted Sonos system Removed and re-installed Sonos app Removed Apple

I own and have SONOS installed on a MacBook Pro 2018.  Like most of us, went through the fiasco last year, and by late last year, THOUGHT things were looking good.  I’ve been trying to keep up with all the updates, and as of this moment, my SONOS system is not showing any new updates are available.   Yesterday, I added a few new songs from iTunes (newly purchased).  They show up, and I can play them from Apple Music.  But because I’ve not updated my music library since the purchase, SONOS can’t yet see them, so I thought I’d update my music library.  When I did, here’s what I saw and still see:When I go to the SONOS “Music Library Settings”, I see the following two locations (plus a third that I think is still working):/Users/macbookpro2018/Music/iTunes.     and/Users/macbookpro2018/Music/Media.localized.While I can’t rem

I used to be able to play music on my Sonos through the Spotify app. A few weeks ago it stopped. Now although all three Sonos speakers appear in the Spotify app, when I try to connect to play music, the icon (bottom left of the screen) blinks for a few seconds and then nothing happens and the music keeps on playing on the device.Playing music in Spotify through the Sonos app works fine.Any ideas on how to fix this? 

I am trying to switch to Spotify from Deezer on Sonos…It keeps telling me to sign out and back in again , which I do but it just keeps repeating this message and I can't access the Manage account or + account to do this..Any clues please ???

I can’t add BBC Sounds to my Sonos Era 100 set. I’ve checked country settings (UK), have updated, reset and restarted app. I can see BBC Sounds in the list, but getting an error message after approving the app on the BBC site. Any tips?! Thanks!

My Sonos music folder is on a NSA310S external hard drive. I have always added CDs by ripping them to iTunes and then copying from the iTunes folder to the NSA310S external hard drive. This had always worked until now.The NSA310S icon has vanished from the bottom left of the file explorer screen where it previously showed up under This PC and Network. At least I believe it has vanished from where it used to be - I was initially worried I had forgotten how to do it!Click on Network and NSA310S shows up under Media Devices. Double click opens to what I assume is the device's IP address - a page titled Twonky with various links to settings etc. Right click gives three options 1. View device webpage (the Twonky page as described above), 2. Create shortcut, 3. Properties - this gives model number, IP address, serial number.If I open This PC NSA310S is there under Network locations. Double click to open and it states This folder is empty.The

I have just reinstalled my sonos system (missed most of the app issues as was in storage) and now have everything back working agian.I had heard the album artwork from music library had returned to the app. Whilst I can see the artwork when I am playing the song/album, I do not see the artwork when I browse through the albums in my library or in the queue. So my question is, is the fix still needing further work and everyone has the same issue, or does everyone else have the artwork in their library seach and queue and not just when they are playing the song?Cheers,Simon

In the iOS Sonos app, I can’t add any folders, playlists, or favorites to the Home screen. The only sections visible on Home are “Recently Played,” “Your Source,” and “Your Service.” Example 1: If I select an MP3 folder from my NAS and choose “Pin Collections to Home,” it shows as pinned, but it doesn’t appear on the Home screen.Example 2: In the YouTube Music service, if I select “Save to Sonos Favorites,” it says it’s saved, but it doesn’t show up on Home. The same issue occurs with Apple Music. Essentially, I’m stuck with just “Recently Played” on Home, with no way to customize it with playlists, favorites, folders, or albums.
