Controllers and Music services

On my Sonos system, Sirius XM cuts in and out more frequently the longer its on.  With speakers directly connected and with wireless connection.   No issue with Sirius in car.

I have just started subscribing to Apple Music and thought it would be easy to play an iTunes playlist on Sonos but alas no. I have gone into the Sonia S1 app on my iPhone, then browse, Apple Music, My music, Playlists. Selected the playlist but all the songs are greyed out and when you press play the following message appears. ‘An error occurred while adding tracks to the queue (802)’.  Can someone help resolve this issue. I’ve just migrated my files to a new MacBook M1. Sonos can see all the titles in my music library, but won’t play them because it says the server can’t be found. I don’t get it?

Apple music issueDespite restarting the sonos system, reloading apps on all devices, apple music will not go to the log in screen but remains a white out, its alhad a glitch before and I've successfully reloaded it. This time a week has passed and no further on. Help!I've also removed devices from apple music and re linked.  

What worked perfectly before, does not work now! From the many many posts on this subject, we all know the symptoms: Whilst trying to add a  music folder, you are greeted by the message:  But it worked last week! I have checked all the advice from the various posts about SMB1 and firewalls etc. Nothing works. The computer I am trying to connect to is a bog standard Seagate HDD attached to a Telstra (Australia) “Technicolor DJA0231” Broadband Modem/Router connected to our NBN (National Broadband Network): a so-called “Telstra Smart Modem Gen 2”. Not the ideal NAS solution I agree, BUT IT USED TO WORK FINE!  What has changed? I have no idea. I religiously install updates to my Windows 10 system and to the Sonos controller. Hi,My wifes Samsung Galaxy S10+ won’t connect/play Apple Music to our Playbar, which it previously did.‘Needs reauthorising’ - white blank screen - so deleted and re-added - checked ‘already a member’ and a white blank screen appears, again.I’ve deleted the Sonos app and reinstalled - same problem.Any suggestions welcome, thank you...

My first post, hello all. I have had Sonos for many years and have never had an issue until recently. My Play:1’s are set up in a stereo pair with a 2nd Gen Sub and a few days ago I started having issues with Amazon Music (specifically songs that are Ultra HD only) and have been experiencing extremely choppy audio which makes the music un-listenable.I do not have this issue with my amp (newest gen) or SL ones, it only happens with the Play:1’s. I was on the phone with support for 1-½ hours with no solution - anyone else having this issue? I am using S2 and I am assuming this is an issue with the Ultra HD music file being compatible with the Play:1’s since it doesn’t happen on any of my newer speakers. It also does not happen if I select songs that are not Ultra HD. I cannot connect my sonos system to apple music anymore after a change of my apple password. Everytime i try to add apple music in my sonos app of my android device and select existing apple account a blanc page shows up and no further interaction is possible

Hi,For some reason I cannot connect the curator playlist on Apple Music to my Sonos’. All working fine apart from that but its annoying as thats the main music I listen to.

I have a music library on an external USB drive to a Samsung Galaxy tablet. I have just “upgraded” to Sonos S2. Now when I want to “Add Shared Music Folder” to the Music Library Setup, it no longer gives me an option to browse, I can only fill in a box that wants an address string for the folder.Whatever I try for the folder, I only get the response that “The computer ……. cannot be found”. I am guessing at the folder path so I assume that it is wrong, but it may be right and I have some enable/disable settings wrong on the tablet which is what much of the frequent problem advice seems to suggest.What should the folder address be so I at least start with that correct? \\Galaxy Tab A (2018, 10.5)\Tablet\USB Storage 1\Music\ is a typical failure.  

While playing music from Amazon music on Sonos the songs skip constantly. When I switch to another streaming service on Sonia they work fine.

After being stable for a few months Rova stations are starting to drop out again.  After about an hour of playing correctly they start having 1 second-ish drop outs.Stopping and starting the stream solves the problem for another hour.  (Buffer starvation?)Not sure if this is a Sonos or Rova setup issue but it is very annoying. Anybody got any ideas? I can’t find a direct support contact address for Rova so I cannot send the issue to them either. RegardsBrian

I use Sonos primarily to play music stored on my Windows computer. It is all organized in itunes, with many Playlists. I open Sonos and go to Music Library > Imported PlaylistsThe issue is that my music files seem to be in many different locations on my computer. I can see this in itunes if I right-click a song and select Show in Windows Explorer--the songs are all over the place.  And I sometimes get errors that Sonos cannot find a song.Can I go into File Explorer and move the music files around so that all the songs are stored in the same folder in just one location? Then I would go to Sonos > Manage > Music Library Settings > Folders and list just the one folder.This seems too easy--what am I missing? What other files would need to be in the folder with the music, such as a library file? I don’t want to totally mess things up.Thanks in advance for your advice.

I have a  number of devices ( computers, tablets etc .) I usually run my Sonos 1 via my android phone.  For the most part works ok, although recently dropped apple music as an option to select - not even in the list?  I also have a Chomebook 311 . I installed the sonos 1 app ( orange *one) onto Chomebook . My Account shows up but does not include any of my subscriptions and there is no way to bet past the EULA ro actually use the app.  My accounts / subscriptions are: Apple music,* Pandora, Youtube, Amazon music , * Tunein,  The* I pay for - I should get you the Youtube free as a deal with Chomebook? It says I have to run Chrome in developer mode?  Thought that was for unix or linux ?   I just want to be able to run my soearker from the chromebook.  The speaker doesn’t show up in bluetooth or nearby devices - chome doesn’t have airplay so can’t send to speakers. wired or unwired. p it does not show up on network Why when I set up and the dev

This evening I tried to use the Sonos app on my Android tablet, as I have done for months, But it couldn’t find the network. I can access the network from my PC, it’s there, it’s working, but following the most recent update, the app no longer recognises it. I’ve followed all the instructions - rebooting the router, disconnecting and reconnecting the Play1 speakers, holding the tablet really close to them, repeatedly trying again. Nothing. Then the app refused to let me log in to my account - my password and e-mail address were not recognised. Obviously the password and address are correct. I can log in from the PC - I’m logged in now - but not from the app on my tablet.I erased the app from the tablet and installed a new version from the Play store. No go. So instead of some easy listening I’ve been scrambling around all evening struggling with technology. Sonos app says No.Sorry. I know there’s no one can help me till tomorrow. Just wanted to ventilate.

Hi there!I’m moving forward in the Sonos ecosystem usage after installing Home Assistant domotic controller in my house.The controller can call “play” mp3 files so you can use the Sonos One speaker as voice of your house and it’s great!At the beginning I have no problem. But later on I moved the server to https and after that it stops working. If I’m streaming Apple music, the Sonos app shows I have just under 10,000 songs. The streaming has been janky in the past and I get tired of Error 1002 when trying to initiate streaming Apple Music with all my songs.  I have a Mac mini with my Apple Music library downloaded onto it, hoping to avoid the problems that come with streaming Apple Music.  The Sonos app is showing a little less than 8,000 songs in my music library downloaded on the mini.  I’ve fixed all the old DRM protected files so they will play from my mini.  After a bit of sleuthing I discovered that all the songs “missing” from my music library on my mini according to the Sonos app are “Apple Music AAC audio” files. But they are downloaded to the music library on the mini.  So Sonos can’t play Apple Music AAC audio files except through streaming?

Hello,If I attempt to play Amazon music or Sirius/XM or tune-in, my system continuously cuts out and jumps songs.  If I play spotify, which I dropped my premium subscription, it plays fine.  It seems that only spotify will play without issues.  Has anyone else experienced a similar issue?

Hi there,Hoping someone can help me out with this seemingly random problem that occurred over the weekend - I have not made any changes to my system.I have my music library stored on an old HP ProLiant server in my office running Windows Home Server 2011 - I have been doing this since my first Sonos purchase in 2014 and it has been almost completely problem-free. The server isn’t set up to do anything fancy other than store my music library and allow me to stream to the Sonos speakers around the house.Having checked before posting this (wary of the file limit to Sonos libraries), my library is formed of a single folder of 478GB, with multiple sub-folders. Windows Explorer tells me that it is made up of 32,428 individual files spread across 2,480 folders.I allow the Sonos system to index my Music Library every night at 2am and this has been the setup since I first purchased a Play:3 in 2014. Hi everyone. Everything worked great. I moved and had SONOS Gen 2  etc in storage. At new place - 6 months later - I had ‘reset’ and move to S2 - rebuilding SONOS and services etc. That was no joy. I’m up and running except I can’t add my Apple Music service (in my name). It says must use Android or Apple phone. However, SONOs no longer likes my cell for some features and says upgrade the o/s (there isn’t one) when I try to add the service. I don’t have an Apple phone. When I added S2 to her’s it will only accept Apple Music in her name (she doesn’t have an account).   So, I’m stuck. Either upgrade my phone/switch to Apple OR use a workaround to get the apple service added. (p.s.: not inclined to play music on the cell and pipe it in through aux.)So, doesn’t anyone have a work around to re-add Apple Music as a service? On the windows PC it of course says use your phone. Thank you. DS

Internet provider replaced blown modem - Play 1 no longer connects to WiFi. I turned off “steering mode” (which combined 2.4G and 5G signal) and disabled the 5G.  I can get through all steps and it connects, but immediately drops and errors.  I’ve spent 2 days and 3 calls/live chats with service (last time they hung up on me and never called back).  Does anyone have any ideas?  I’ve already done factory resets, reboots (speaker and modem several times) and set up new device 3 times. It WILL connect with ethernet but I don’t want it in that room...Considering selling it because I can’t play iTunes through it anymore and I don’t want Apple Music.

Music stored after installation of Sonos app in “Music” folder on SD card in Android 11 Samsung Galaxy M51 not visible in Sonos app “On this device”. When moved to the internal storage Music folder, visible immediately. Music stored on SD card before installation of Sonos app is visible in Sonos app “On this device”. How can I force app to check files on SD card?

I have a Sonos 1 that I stream from Amazon music.  One song in particular is always choppy.  No other song experiences this.  I can play said song anywhere else and it’s fine.  This happens 90% of the time. 10% of the time it plays fine.  Why this one song?

Hi, Not so long ago I was able to ask different echo devices to play Spotify on different Sonos speakers across different rooms, and music would start playing without cutting in other rooms. Now, when I ask Alexa to play Spotify it will stop playing Spotify on other speaker (previously stated via Alexa) and start it on speaker where I asked.  In sonos app it says - started from Spotify. Is this normal behaviour and can it be changed somehow?  Can't imagine my family asking Alexa to play Spotify and it will stop playing in other rooms? Thanks!
