Controllers and Music services

I try to add a music library on the ios app on an ipad. I get asked the path of my music files (\\computer name\\path) and I have great difficulties specifying that path. At least \\name of ipad\folder name does not work. Any ideas how I can find the path of an folder including computer name? Thanks!

Hello I’ve been experiencing a problem with my Sonos Move for the last few days.It has been working flawlessly for a year. Now, playing radios stations with TuneIn is completely broken. Every couple minutes or so, the sound stops for 2-4 seconds, then resumes a few seconds to an anterior state, ie. before it was cut (meaning I hear the same sounds a second time). No matter what station I select, no matter what device I use (I have a phone and a tablet, both on Android), I have this problem with TuneIn. Everything is up to date, network is properly configured, it just started to behave like this a few days ago for no apparent reason.I don’t think it’s related to my network, as I have no problem listening to radio with other apps on my devices. It happens only with Sonos app, only with TuneIn. Any idea? 

Hello all! I am currently having issues trying to use the Mac OS Sonos S1 controller app with my external HDD that is connected over a USB cord. Strangely, I get this error ever time I try to add a folder directory to my music library from the HDD.  I´ve also found that Sonos will pickup my iTunes library and will not denote any local files, such as on my desktop. Additionally, file type seems to be irrelevant, it refuses to accept mp3, FLAC, M4A, or WAV, unless of course they´re in iTunes. So, how would I go about solving this disaster?  Error Issue Photo Thank you!!!

I have set up a new WD My Cloud Home Nas drive which is where all my music is stored.   I use MediaMonley to sync all my music and the Music is found fine on the My Cloud Home Music service I added to Sonos.  The problem  is there is No Playlist folder, I have M3U playlists but they don’t appear, in fact there is no folder.     This renders the drive useless to me and it was recommended for use with Sonos.  If you select to show  UPNP drives the mediamonkey music library appears fine, but you can only select and play individual tracks whether they are in an album or playlist - so that doesn’t work either!  If you want to avoid paying Amazon or google monthly subscriptions its all stacked against you!  I wanted to know if anyone has a solution or if it would work if I changed the WD My CLoud Home for a different Nas drive?

New to Sonos and so far not having a great time.   The main thing I want to do is have playlists that I put together in iTunes play through my Sonos One via either Alexa or Sonos app on my iPhone.After spending a while trying to get smart playlists to show up in Sonos and failing, I discovered the best I could do was to copy all the songs from smart playlists into a basic playlist and that would show up under “My Music” within Apple Music on the Sonos app.   I thought that had solved it, but if I try to play the playlists - either via the Alexa or the app - the best I can get is that sometimes they will play alphabetically...but no fun hearing same songs in same order, and cannot get shuffle to work.  Alexa either plays the playlist in alphabetical order or does nothing, and the app gives me spinning wheel then message “an error occurred while adding tracks to the Queue (1002)”.I can see messages going back several years from people who have had variations on this problem so I am hopin

Is there any progress on adding NTLM v2 support to Sonos?NTLMv1 has been obsolete (and recommended to be turned off) for many years now due to security concerns. After upgrading my Synology NAS to DSM 7, shared folders no longer work as NTLM v1 has been removed.

I have two One SLs and a Port.  Using the Sonos app, I can add and play tracks on the SLs.  If I try and play an album on the Port, I get “unable to add songs to queue” and if I try to play an individual track, I get error 701.  I can play Spotify on the Port if I play one of the SLs and link the Port to it.  I can also play through the Port using the Spotify app and air playing from there.  I have rebooted the Port a couple of times but it still won’t play.  There isn’t a general connection issue, otherwise the SLs and linking across wouldn’t work either.  How can I get the Port playing Spotify again?

Hi,I ran a Sonos update yesterday - which updated my Sonos speakers and iPhone/iPad app.  Since then, my two Sonos Amp (newest Gen) are not visible in the app.  My Play:1s remain active and working.  The both amps have a solid white status light - as though they’re connected to something.I’ve tried resetting both.  They appear in the App until I try to play music - after which, music fails to play and the zone is no longer available though the app.  Anyone else seen similar?  I’ve used Sonos for years and never seen such an issue.  I don’t believe the unit(s) are faulty.  That would be very unlucky for both to go at exactly the same time.  

Any others experience this issue and are there any solutions?In the case of Spotify, I have to reboot the phone and car. In the case of Tidal, I use Sonos app to deselect all Tidal selections (the Tidal app will not respond to this request once Sonos and  Tidal are linked).The Phone is a Nokia 7.1 running Android 10. The car is Ford ranger with Sync3. 

Out of the blue my Sonos S1 controller has lost my music.Nothing changed, the computer hadn’t been changed in any way, no settings changed, no software installed, I simply chose a different album to play and it’s all gone.I tried adding the music folders again and still get the “computer cannot be found” error despite it being the computer that’s running the Sonos app!I’ve had a look on the forum and there’s lots about people making changes then losing their music but I haven’t found one like mine where nothing changed, it was running then it simply lost everything.I uninstalled and reinstalled the Sonos S1 app, rebooted the router and the Sonos Bridge, checked the firewall settings before I uninstalled it and it set the firewall settings again for the fresh install so I know that’s not the problem.Windows 10 hasn’t updated, so I can see no reason at all for this to have happened.I’d appreciate any help I can get with this before I chuck the lot on eBay and get blue tooth speakers inst

I have a music library stored on my NAS with approximately 1500 albums (so it's not huge by most standards).Only a portion of it has been indexed correctly by the initial execution of the indexing via Sonos app. No matter how many times I re-run the process via the Apps on Windows PC, android phone & iphone, nothing changes once the fresh indexing process has finished.An example of how this is behaving is:I have a folder named A Perfect Circle in my shared Music folder. It has 4 sub-folders (1 for each album by that artist) 2 of the 4 albums have been indexed 1 of the 2 indexed albums only lists from track 3 onward and doesn't recognize or list tracks 1 or 2 in the sonos app on any platform. By comparison, I can browse to each of the folders and list all tracks and play them using other apps such as Roon, windows media player etc. without issue.Re-scanning my music library yields no changes to available albums / songs, though shows via the apps it is apparently working.What is goin

HiA couple of days ago I noticed that the queue in Sonos was saying I only had about 9500 tracks when there should be about 12500.  I’ve had a look through and whole albums that used to be in there and played absolutely fine are no longer showing - they’ve just disappeared although they’re still in Itunes?  I’ve uninstalled my Library from Sonos and added it again and now I’ve lost even more, about another 200 tracks????  I have a Windows laptop and the library is on my C Drive - no changes have been made to it.  I’m absolutely baffled, any advice would be gratefully accepted as this is driving me mad. 

Issues with newer wifi modems/routers are a neverending source of frustration.I have a wifi 6 fiber modem/router that automagically switches from 5ghz to 2.4ghz depending on distance, which is great for anything but Sonos, so I had to setup an additional network just for that.(and no, there’s no option to set up a different access point just for 2.4)This is painful because in my office I have to use the 2.4ghz network, which is slower, in order to use Sonos app on my PC to connect to the Play 1’s.Also, to control other Sonos components (Play 5’s, Sub, Move), my phone has to be on the separate 2.4 network.So, I bought a Boost, thinking Sonosnet would solve all my problems, but no… the Move won’t work with Sonosnet (I discovered after purchasing it).  So… I have to continue with the separate 2.4ghz network.At the very least, the Boost should prominently note in the description that it does NOT work with Move.The Sonos page for Boost even displays the Move directly underneath!https://www.

I have the latest version of the Sonos app for android installed on my phone (Galaxy A12) I have 8 Synfonisks devices attached to the app and they are all working fine. I am paying for Sonos radio and it is in my app by default. When I click on the magnifying glass and search for an artist or album, podcast etc. in the correct section of search It gives me the:No results found in Artists. There are no services set up in your Sonos system. Please add a service to search for content.My phone and all the devices are on the same wifi network and all have access to the internet.I have reauthorized the Sonos radio app and have restarted everything thing and this problem persists.All of the Sonos devices update to whatever the latest firmware is when I fist started them up this week.I click into the Sonos radio hd part of the app I see all the different sections with different music collections there is no where to search except for the magnifying glass at the bottom of the app. When I click

The past couple of months when playing music from Spotify on any of the sonos speakers the music skips to the next song or stops playing at random points. It can be after 2 songs or half a day. The controller reports connection to spotify lost. Sometimes i can immediately click play again and it starts over but sometimes it takes 1-10 min before i can resume. Meanwhile i can play from other sources just fine so it seems like a Spotify specific issue. If i try to play using spotify connect then as i select the speaker, it changes it back to the previous target.

Hi all, I have a system made up of several PLAY:3s, PLAY1s and One SLs, connected to a NAS.Some of the songs/albums on it have special characters (like é, á, etc) that have started not to play (Unable to play “...”  the file …. cannot be found). It seems to be the PLAY:1s that are not able to find these, although the certainly did in the past. Some of these have also reverted to a filename in Sonos Playlists.I assume it’s been an update triggering this, but would like to know if others suffer and how to resolve it. I really want to avoid renaming them due to the sheer number of songs/albums with special characters. Thanks, Eelke

I bought a new iMac in June. Ever since, I am unable to import my playlists from Music (formerly know as iTunes/Not Apple Music streaming) into Sonos. I’ve read many articles and had several calls to both Apple and Sonos, and still have the same problem 3 months later. Has anyone had a similar issue and have you found a way to successfully resolve it? Thanks in advance for any help.

I have a Plex playlist marked as a favorite in Sonos.  It plays the songs and works fine.  The problem is when I add a new song to the playlist in plex, the playlist favorite is not longer valid in the sonos favorite.  I have to remove from favorites and then re add it.  Any ideas why this is not refreshing or whatever?

My son thought he could add his acct to our Sonos system.  I did not authorize my account to be switched to his email. Not sure how Sonos allows that.  When I go to log-in, it shows his email (encrypted) at top with blank username and password.  I cannot log-in using my account in the app but I can log-in with my username/pw on the internet and shows my account number.    He’s tried to erase his account but it won’t let him. I now have NO way to access the Sonos. (No I am not going to use sons log-in).  My account, my access (Sonos allowed him access without authorization). how do we fix this?   Oh, called customer service - told customer service is no longer via phone and much use tech support online.  Prompts per computer did not include my issue.  Asked for live agent - none are available.  sincerely,Laura 

Hi guys. I have been listening FM for long with my Sonos device. It was all fine since yesterday. That tunnel what I am listening every day, it doesn't have any voice at all. It is so strange as all the other tunnels have voice instead of this one. I am really upset as I am at home nowadays and that is the only FM what I like it. Have you faced similar problem already? Can anyone help me please? Thanks a lot.

I have a new Sonos One, gen 2. I have hooked it up successfully using wifi. I have the app on my Android phone and can play Sonos radio no problem. Running OS 11.4 on my Mac Mini. Downloaded the Sonos desktop app. I can see the Sonos One and play music via Sonos radio. I can see the device in my volume drop down and in system prefs, both as airplay. But when I go to Youtube or Zoom and want the sound to come out, nothing. The Sonos shows that the app (YouTube) is sending something to the Sonos. But despite changing the volume, nothing. Help is appreciated. Thanks. 

Hello I have a Sonos generation 1 system. A Connect:amp connected to the router and a couple of Play 1’s and a Play 5. The system has always worked well in the past and I have had no issues using Spotify.The system has been reset and setup after being dormant for 6 months during renovations at home and I can no longer add Spotify as a service. It doesn’t even appear in the list of services.I can see the rooms I have set up in the Spotify App but can not connect to any of them.I can use other services that I have added in the Sonos App without any issue.Any ideas? I purchase this Buffalo NAS: https://www.buffalo-technology.com/productpage/linkstation-ls210d/ after my WD NAS with almost 1TB of data (mostly music) caught some malware and died on me. After sending it off to a company to get my files back, they returned it with many, many duplicate music (mostly MP3 for PC) files.When I tried to add this new library, I get the error that I have reached my capacity and to delete playlists and such.Is there a way, other than manually going and deleting ~100K+ duplicates files, that Sonos can filter these songs? I’m currently going through the process of deleting files using a purchased software called Easy Duplicate Finder but that’s not perfect and even after running it for 2 days, I get the same error.Please let me know what I should do, thanks. 

I’ve been listening to Proton Radio via TuneIn for a couple of years, without problems. But it has stopped working. The station is still operating, and I can stream directly from the website via my MacBook and Airplay. But I’d rather stream directly to my Sonos system. I already tried “Add Radio Station” without success.I also tried MyTuner and Sonos Radio, but I can’t get it to work. My music files are on a NAS device connected to the local LAN.  I added a folder on that NAS device as the Music Library folder and I can see and play all the .mp3 music files that are located in many of the subfolders of the top Music Library folder.  So far so good.  BTW, the tracks were added to the iTunes library using the same .mp3 files located on the NAS device.The problem I have is with the playlists.  I exported a few playlists from my iTunes library as .xml files.  I  then created a subfolder in the top Music Library folder and copied the exported .xml playlist files into that subfolder.  For some reason I do not see the playlists subfolder in my Music Library on the ipad I run the Sonos app on. So, what I noticed is that in the playlist files exported from iTunes, that is in the .xml playlist files, under file names, iTunes uses the drive letter like P: in the file names, something like this:  //localhost/P:/…….This makes sense as I mapped the NAS shares to different drives
