Hi guys

Is there anyone who can think of a solution for my problem:

I use my Sonos Beam (gen 1) for playing music from my NAS. I recently updated my NAS from a Synology DS216play to a Asustor AS6704T (I have the issue on both NAS). On the NAS I have an UPNP-server with a user “sonos” that has read-rights on the shared folder “Music”.

Music plays fine if on the Sonos app, when I browse to the folder and tap on a song. Whenever I try to play a song from the “recently played” list, I get the famous 701 error.

  • I’ve rebooted every device (Beam, Smartphone, router)
  • I’ve given the user “sonos” on the NAS read/write-rights, and still I get the error

What else is there that I can try to get rid of the error 701 ?

I thank you in advance!

I would recommend that you submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of experiencing this problem, and call Sonos Support to discuss it.

There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.

When you speak directly to the phone folks, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your Sonos system and network.
