Controllers and Music services

I cannot connect Sonos app to Spotify or connect from Spotify app to Sonos. I get an error unable to add account every single time. I have had zero issues for years and now I’m stuck with this. I have tried every single suggested fix multiple times. So incredibly frustrating. They say this was a known issue that was resolved 22 days ago, but clearly it is not. Does anyone know the solve to this? 

Why is the Sonos update process such a mess?   EVERY time the update note comes on, which is WAY too frequently, I know I’m in for a headache.   I see no reason on Earth for it to be such a never ending disaster.   This time it doesn’t even get past the “update starting” phase where it just kept circling with no end.   I’m running Windows 11 latest update and also Windows 10 latest update.  Problem is identical on both computers.

I work every other weekend. So on the days I work I have the alarm (my fav radio station) going off at 5:30 and 6am with increasing volume. Works great! So when I don’t work I want to start my alarm routine at 6am with a lower volume. I can’t program this! I always get a message “Unable to save the alarm. There is already an alarm for this room at the specified time.”  I obviously don’t want to select both at the same time! I want to use the quieter alarm when I’m not working! Help!

Has anyone experienced any connectivity issues with Sonos speakers after a recent software update? Looking for possible solutions or troubleshooting tips

I wanted to play Apple Music via Sonos, the Sonos App said I needed to reauthorize, OK, I’m happy with that.BUT Sonos App said before I could reauthorize I *MUST* upgrade Sonos system?I was running S2 15.5 (last months release), and was forced to upgrade to 15.6 (release today) before it would allow Apple Music to reauthorize?Is this a new requirement, to reauthorize Apple Music you must be running latest software?

I’ve been trying to install the Libby service for the last 24 hours with a consistent issue: I kept getting the error message, “unable to browse music.” I keep removing and reading, giving it awhile, then checking. Same result. Any ideas? I’ve tried to unplug speakers and plug back in.

I’m trying to give my Android Pixel 6 phone access to my Synology 1522 music library. I believe the attached screenshot is where I do that. If so, I can’t get past inputting what I think is the required information. Hopefully one of you will know if that’s true. Regardless of whether what I’m entering is right or wrong, when I click OK, nothing happens. The only option is to click Cancel. Suggestions?

I realise that this can be a Spotify issue or some hack on my network starting this random playoff loud music. I raised a case with support that could tell me the phone and model that the command to start playing this unknown song from Spotify at 95% volume while I was sleeping came from.But as I cannot figure out which device is starting the music and why, I would love to be able to restrict access to my Sonos system to narrow down what causes this horrible event.I just experienced this wake-up call again at about 2:45 tonight and sent diagnostic 213402988. Same strange music at 95% volume but this time in a different room called “Badeværelse”.Is it possible to get the actual device name? And maybe even the Mac address?Does anyone know how to fix this? Or can anyone from Sonos support see anything useful in my diagnostic 213402988?This may not be triggered by Sonos, but my Son

I have a long house, that is covered with multiple starlink mesh nodes. In most rooms I have S1 speakers throughout the house with a larger set up in the living room. No speakers are wire connected.When I try group all speakers, I'm presented with the “Wireless range extender” error.  Wireless range extender Some Sonos products are using the WiFi from a range extender device. If you include one of these in a room group, you won't be able to play music in that group. To ensure playback in all grouped rooms, you'll need to permanently wire a Sonos product to your router.

Hi,I have quite happily played my music, stored on a Synology 218+, on both Play 5 and Play 1 for several years. I updated the Sonos S1 app on my Windows 10 PC today. Things were fine initially, but when I added a couple of folders to Music Library I got the dreaded “access denied” message when attempting to listen on Play 5.Having had a similar problem a few years ago, I started ploughing through “access denied” solutions, to no avail.What baffles me, though, is that I can successfully listen on Play 1 to music stored in the same library (using the same app on the same PC). How can that be?I should add that the same problem exists when using my Android phone, i.e.access denied for Play 5, fine for Play 1A.

I have had a recurring problem pretty much since Day 1 with the error message ‘No search results found. No services set up on your system’. I currently, and have always, used Spotify which works seamlessly from a streaming perspective, plus when the search actually works.Once i force close the app (iOS) and re-open, the search works again. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling etc.My current set up isBoostBeamAmp (2 x Sonos One as surrounds)Five OneI have searched the forums and can’t see anyone having this problem before. The constant need to quite the app and re-open is quite annoying!Any help appreciated 

This morning my app informs me that BBC 6 Music is no longer available on BBC sounds on Sonos. (I have checked and other BBC stations no longer work).  It was working perfectly fine until about 10am. 

I have had this issue for a long time playing music from my music library from the S2 app on any ios device (iphone, ipad) the artwork doesn’t show in the now playing box while playing from one song to the next.  If I press pause the artwork immediately shows.S1 app works fine with no issues (I downgraded one of my speakers to test) as well as desktop app, but the ios with the S2 app has this issue.Is this a bug with the app?  Is there anything I can do to fix?  It works with S1, but I read that S1 is using SMB1 whereas S2 can use SMB2 or higher? It’s so annoying not to see the artwork of the song that is playing, any help or insight on what would be causing this would be great. I also read several other similar problems on here, but I don’t see any definitive fix. Router = Netgear Nighthawk with Attached storage via USB to the router.Thanks

Why is my napster library duplicated in sonos one app?

Hi everyone, I’ve been playing bbc sounds through my beam and ones for ages but today it wouldn’t play error showing was- ‘radio 2’ is no longer available on bbc sounds. it will play through airplay from the bbc sounds app however. I’ve reauthorised my bbc sounds account and it signed in fine. Got me baffled  

Just purchased an ERA 100 and Roam.  As I already have a gen 1 setup with multiple Sonos devices, I created a 2nd Sonos account/system for the ERA 100 and Roam.  I can successfully stream Pandora, SiriusXM and Sonos Radio to both devices with no problems.  However, when I try to stream my Apple Music Library to either device, most songs are highly distorted - sound is muted, vocals are very faint.I don’t actually own an Apple Music account - I simply use it to locally store my music which consistes of ripped vinyl and CDs ( > 800 songs ).  I’ve noticed that songs in the library encoded as MP3s stream OK, but those encoded as m4a - AAC codec, 44,100 sampling rate, 32 bit sample depth, Apple MPEG-4 Audio (m4a) container - are distorted.  Sonos says this format is supported, but my experience says otherwise.   I have the latest IOS versions on an iPhone 13 and the latest Ventura on an M1 MacBook Pro.  Further, my entire music library streams flawlessly from either IOS or Vent

 I continue to get this error on Apple Music and YouTube Music. it happens on single speakers, paired speakers and multi speaker TV setups. it happens on all 15 of my speakers. it is ongoing for a couple months with no fix happening.  Please do not close topics because you can’t fix a problem.

How do I sync my sonos computer playlist to my sonos iphone playlist?

I rarely move the volume control out of the leftmost third of its range, often struggle to get a volume level that suits.There’s space to make the volume control slider much bigger. This would allow much finer-grained control of the selected volume.You might consider making it less linear as well - a large movement at low volume changing the volume more than the same movement at high volume.Thanks!

I have updated my country address to the UK. I’ve closed the app logged out and back in and still don’t see it as a service. Can anyone help please?

I’ve had Sonos for quite a while and I just added the Tidal 30 day trial in hopes of getting better quality audio.  I ca see the songs and playlist in Sonos but when I try to play them I get this error message:  “An error occurred while adding tracks to the Queue (701)“

Does anybody know whether there is a way to truncate the folder path displayed in the Music Folder section when you browse using the S2 app on a phone? The full path from my NAS drive is sometimes displayed in capitals, and that restricts how much of the path is visible on my phone. It’s not much better if the path is displayed in lower case (the display seems to be completely random even if I type it in lower case). Hopefully this gives some idea of the problem:  

Apparently I have a branded YouTube account and another with same sign in. With the branded account it does not show any library but the second does. Any ideas?Thanks

Hi, I am actively engaged with sonos support, but figured I’d ask around to see if anyone else is experiencing this too.I have a large system, which includes Play1’s, Play3’s, a Play5, a Beam, some One SL’s, and a Move. I also run two Boosts.Everything has been S2 for some time now and worked great. Last week I started seeing some of the play1’s say incompatible. I spent a couple hours on the phone with sonos support earlier in the week and resolved by factory resetting all of them. Worked a few days, then started again today, same problems.Worked with support and we managed to get them all working again, this time without factory resets, and the stereo paring went through a few hiccups but ultimately worked. I run Unifi gear and am well aware of what that involves and means and my configuration is highly tuned to be Sonos friendly, STP on the switches, nothing wired in except the boosts, etc. Lots of advanced settings on the AP’s to make sure ever

Frequently (about once a day) when using the Sonos controller on an Ipad to search for music, I get the "no services set up on your sonos system" error message, even though I have multiple services and a music library set up.  The only way I know to fix it is to reset, close, and reopen the app.  (This usually works pretty quickly, but can lead to a cascade of problems if Sonos decides to be glitchy about re-connecting to my system.)  Why does this keep happening and how can I make it stop?  And, yes, my Sonos controller is up-to-date.
