According to the supported audio formats it should be possible to add AAC files to the Music Library.I’ve added a directory containing AAC files, but they don’t show up in the music library.so far I’ve tried:different kinds of folders (network shares, NAS, Music folder in Documents) added metainformation to the AAC file using Mp3tag downloaded various AAC sample files for testingWhen I add a mp3 file it will show up, but no AAC I’ve found similar topics while searching for a solution, but none with a solution. So, is somebody able to select AAC files from their music Library ?Is Sonos supporting AAC files in their music library, at all ?

So I had an issue with the search functionality of Spotify inside the Sonos app, got annoyed, removed the service and wanted to re-add the service, and now I’m met with (500) Sorry we are unable to set up your Spotify account at this time. I’ve tried revoking the access from the spotify app, I’ve tried uninstalling the spotify app to force the sonos auth through the web, I’ve tried installing the desktop app to add the services through that.I’ve even tried powercycling the entire system.Nothing works, I’m so close to pulling the crap out and toss it in the trash, basically useless to me without Spotify.Has anyone got any ideas of what I could do ?

I control my old S1 Play 5 using Sonos S1 application configured with my Music Library service.  This works PERFECTLY.  I control my new S2 One Sls and Amp using Sonos S2 application with my Music Library service configured in iEXACTLY the same way as S1.  S2 application says it is configured correctly and has access to same folder(s) as S1.  S2 will NOT update library at all.  Every parameter is IDENTICAL between S1 and S2 but S2 will NOT build an index or update.  This has been flagged repeatedly for years now and Sonos support gaslights users by blaming everything else EXCEPT the S2 application.  When will Sonos attend to this issue?

I find it kind of annoying that the Sonos ios app (using on an iPhone 12, latest update) won’t stay open -- that if you haven’t used it in a bit, it will act as if it’s been closed, causing it to re-find and refresh all of the zones. Does anybody else have this issue? Is there a setting I can change to have it stay open in the background? I have the background refresh turned on in the app settings… couldn’t find anything else that might indicate a setting that could be changed.

How to add a streaming url station to my Sonos radio app 

Apple Music is a huge upgrade for classical users. Great search, content and sound. But Apple music search on Sonos is a joke. It only works 10% of the time and then when it does work if often doesn’t find stuff that I know is there. So I resort to playing from my phone or computer to my Sonos system by Airplay, which I don’t love for many reasons. Is anyone else having this problem? Any workarounds?

Is this normal/expected behavior? When I add or remove a room to music currently playing via Spotify connect, the music stops everywhere. This happens when I add/remove rooms thru the Sonos iPhone app (S2), or if I am just walking into a room and I do a long press on the speaker’s play button to add that room to what is currently playing. Its very annoying. Has anyone else had this experience and discovered a solution?

Hi,  In the last week or so my Sonos One has stopped being able to browse my YouTube Music via my “Your Likes” playlist, and via “Songs”. All other browse selections work fine (Artists, Albums, other playlists). I can still play songs from those lists fine.I’ve seen old posts related to list size issues … my library is approx 4.5k songs and “My Likes” playlist is approx 2k songs. Browsing these has never been an issue until recently.I’ve rebooted everything, upgraded router firmware, removed and re-added YouTube Music account to Sonos One. No change from any of this.Does anyone know what the issue is ? 

A similar question was posted 6 years ago but I could not find anything helpful in the results…Any radio station hosted by TuneIn I have seen does not seem to display the song and artist info in the Sonos app. It shows for the same station in the TuneIn mobile app, so the actual station is sending the info in the API to TuneIn. I do not recall that this having ever worked for me. Is this a TuneIn or Sonos issue?

I have a macbook pro running the sonos desktop app. I’m connected to my network via a wired connection. I’m getting the message when i launch the app that it is unable to connect. is it not possible to control my system from the same network over a wired connection?

I had an older S1 Sonos system in my house that I sold last October  (2022) in order to travel the world looking for cool surf spots (a geriatric Endless Summer). Now I am considering purchasing a Roam for my travels, and am wondering if there is any way I will be able to access my old playlists from the S1 home system. I still have my Sonos account and the S1 controller on my phone. Any help here will be greatly appreciated, as there were a few playlists I’d love to have back. 

The volume slider on my Android home screen won’t move when I try to drag the volume button. I can use the physical tablet buttons to adjust the volume. If I expand the station, the volume slider on that screen will drag and change the volume. This slider at the bottom of my Sonos home screen was working for years and all of a sudden it stopped working. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. I’ve tried with and without the “home screen volume control” on. This tablet app problem is the same for all 4 of my Sonos speakers. My phone app works fine.I am running Android 11 on a Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e.

I have a Sonos system with numerous speakers connected through SonosNet, with one speaker connected to the router via ethernet cable and everything else connecting wirelessly.  Now, I’m trying to add two Play 1 speakers that I previously used in an old apartment.  I factory reset them and when I go to “add product” in the Sonos settings, the app detects them and allows me to begin the setup process.  However, the process does not complete and I get the following error message:‘We couldn’t find any products on your mobile device’s network so we can’t set up your Play:1.” Is this because my phone is connected to normal WiFi while my Sonos system is using SonosNet?  If so, how can I successfully add these Play 1 speakers?  At the end of the day I just want to get them added and integrated into the system, so if you have any thoughts at all I’d appreciate them.  Thanks!

I've had no problems at all with bbc sounds for 2 years. I had to update my sonos move it in the week and when I say Alexa play BBC radio 2 it says ‘playing bbc radio 2’ but no sound then plays. I've done the whole settings thing on both the alexa app disabling the skill and waiting and i’ve removed bbc sounds from the sonos app. nothing works.  

Any idea why all my streaming services stopped working on all my Sonos products? I’ve deleted them, re-added them, re-authorized them… nothing…. I can’t play any music on my system and it’s been 3 weeks now

Hi,I cannot update past 15.4 on my Mac OS. I get an unexpected error after I enter my admin password. This occurs on both Mac Mini Pro M2 chip and Macbook Pro M1 pro chip, with both running latest OS updates.thanks,Paul. 

To make use of smart home functionality and compatibility Google Cast support would be great. Does Sonos have plans to add support for Google Cast?

I have tried adding BBC Sounds to my services, but Sonos tell me it is unable to connect. I get as far as linking my BBC account and it tells me to go back to Sonos to see the addition, but when I return to Sonos it says it was unsuccessful and gives no explanation or advice on how to resolve. Please can anyone help? I am desperate! Using S1

I just cannot add any music services, the buttons are greyed out. Error message appears “this feature is not available”.  

Hi,I run the Sonos S2 app on my Macbook (current OS Ventura 13.4, but problem has persisted since Monterey) and it’s connected to a Belkin Thunderbolt dock, which provides network connectivity via ethernet.When I stop work in the evening, I power down and disconnect the dock.The next morning, when I power up the dock and wake up the macbook, the Sonos App goes unresponsive and I have to force quit.Anyone seen this?

Have many people had their amps forced  software upgrade and the system is no useable? Tech support is great until they realize it fruitless. after 7 hours my perfectly good working amps are useless and the company offers discount for new ones at 500.00 a piece.  Has anyone ever been able to get something like that working again?  Having a hard time buying more of these when this could happen to any of their products. Needless to say I am not very pleased.    

I accidently added 30 tracks to my favourites on Deezer. I can see no way of removing all of them at once, only right clicking, select info, select delete from favourite tracks then confirm deletio9n. That’s four clicks per track so 40 clicks to remove 10 tracks - crazy!If anyone can show me a quicker way I would appreciate it.

Sorry to be an aged non-techie!  Have a sudden problem with my S1 five zone system - ok with Spotify but when I try to play from my Music Library I get “Unable to play xxxx, Unable to connect to XXXX”; (this being my PC).  When I go into the Library Settings I can’t add or remove any Folders, it just goes back a screen.  The system advises me to check sleep settings (are ok) and and firewall settings (Sonos.exe is allowed in Bitdefender).  My PC can see all my Sonos locations and the external drive that contains my FLAC files.  I don’t want to try anything drastic like uninstall without advice from someone better qualified than me.  Any help please?
