Controllers and Music services

I noticed there is a difference in the Audio In format shown between the new iOS app and the desktop app. Whilst watching a program,  In the desktop app I am seeing Dolby Multi Channel PCM 2.0, but in the app it displays Dolby MAT 2.0Why is this different in the 2 apps ?Is there a simple guide that SONOS can provide to explain the different sound formats that are displayed.

We just moved to a new house and reconnected our NAS and Sonos speakers… only to discover that we can no longer play all the music stored on the NAS.  Using the iOS app, the Music Library is there, it shows our albums, the cover art is missing  and nothing plays.  There is simply no option to edit the folder, add a new one, or otherwise manage the Music Library. We have 2 Sonos One speakers.  Our music library is stored on a QNAP NAS which does support SMB 2 and 3.  The Sonos ios app on our iphone 13 and 14 phones will not work… I’ve read a lot of comments on this and am trying to sort it out.  How can it be true that Sonos would remove the ability to play from my own music library… when they are still advertising that this is a distinguishing “feature” for the system?

Since the app update Sonos is asking to reauthorise my account but is just going round in a loop. I now can't play any stations. Have a beam and a pair of SL1's

Since updating to the new version on Sonos I am asked daily to sign in again on my iPhone to see content I played yesterday. It is quite annoying and I wondered why it doesn’t keep my login?  I can still use Sonos but can’t see content I played the day before…. 

We have an old S1 system with 2 Ports and 2 Amps.. This all works, so upgrading everything to S2-capable hardware is not a desirable option. At the moment we are using a Mac to host to our local music library.. We recently got a Synology DS223j NAS drive so we could move the music library to a dedicated server. The NAS drive shows up on our computer, but when I try and add that library to the system (using the S1 controller) it cannot login (I’m connecting to \\192.168.1.2\NASdrive\music)… I did make sure SMB1 is enabled on the Synology. I’m wondering if there is some extra setting I need to set on the NAS for it to work.. Obviously many people use Synology NAS server with their Sonos systems, but perhaps the old S1 controllers and new Synology DSM software don’t talk to each other.

After following the workaround I found on the forum to add my local music library back after the app bafflingly seemed to simply delete it, I am able to access my library on the desktop app, but it simply doesn’t show up anywhere on the mobile apps.We really need Sonos to step up here. The forum is full of people having the same issues. CLEARLY there is a problem here that needs to be addressed. Either that or the company needs to come out and state categorically “we only support online music services now, so if you put a lot of money into our hardware then we’re afraid you’re out of luck and made a poor choice.” Seriously. This silence is not doing your company any good.

Can we please have:a variable sleep timer, say in increments of 1 minute? a sleep timer that will work with local/NAS library content?Thanks in advance.

I usually control my Sonos system using my PC : no problem (yet?).This morning I  opened the Sonon App on my mobile, and then I got stuck with “Conditions d’utlisation, licence et garantie” and it is impossible to approve them (“Accepter”). Apparently said conditions have recently been updated (June 2024).Thus the Sonos (2) App is now totally useless.Please correct quickly and inform.

Just got a pair of era 100 and a pair of Sonos ace.Sold lots of Sonos to upgrade including my amp as I intended to play over Bluetooth on my Sony MP3.Having just updated the app on my Sony MP3 android it asks me to start over it will not even let me select country UK so I can't even get going I was going to update my beam but I'm losing the faith, I have tried all settings to make sure permissions are set right country etc very disappointed.

Hi, my name is Hans and I have a question.My system is Beam with 2x Era300When i play TuneIn radiostations then there is very often a short beep around 7 kHz when the music plays in that range. It seems like a feedback error, as if an microphone is to nearby speakers.This is my 3th installation and also complete reset to default, on different locations and wifi networks with different speeds and internet providers.Its started directly after first installation (a few months ago when i bought this system). It seems to me it has to do with sample rate of radiostations or the Sonos system, but its very annoying. Is there anyone who is familiar with this problem? Or is it my lack of experience with Sonos ??? 🤔😜Hope you have an solution.

Where are the release notes for speaker firmware? All I see is mobile app release notes.

I cannot understand why Sonos have issued this ‘update’ which is clearly untested. Why remove so many features that worked fine on the S2 version, and then say ‘missing features will (may) be added in the future'? Such an arrogant disregard for their customers.  I have managed to get the crappy new app working on my iPad (current iOS) and wanted to Trueplay a pair of One SLs so opened the new app on the iPhone. Surprised to see it already there - I do not have auto updates selected either in the App store or Sonos app, so Sonos must have forced this through from their end, giving customers no choice.  It couldn't find my system (it had been connected to the system for years on previous versions of the apps) so had to give it access to local network - it had this with the S2 app so why not keep that access after the ‘update’? Very sluggish and buggy in operation. Tried to Trueplay the speakers. Got to the ‘You will hear tones’ page  Pressed ‘

The new app is up to date (that said, where do you find the details/app version number??).I have three PLAY:1 speakers, a BEAM, and an IKEA SYMFONSIK on my network. The BEAM is connected to the router via ethernet.Here’s a standard task I’m doing.Add a Spotify playlist to the queue Add another playlist/album to the queueIn the video attached, apart from taking a while to load everything, when I go to ‘add to end of queue’ or ‘play next’ I get the error “Something went wrong try again”. When I go to view the queue I get ‘unable to load’. So, my ask to the SONOS folks and/or advice from the community is…It’s so slow to load things Everything seems to end with an errorAny ideas?   

Ever since the launch of the new app and the download of new firmware, my office Sonos ( 2 x Era 100 + Sub Mini) is no longer found on when tried launching the app.Sonos system can still be seen and used on Airplay by Apple products hence am sure it’s the App issue. The latest app update today does no help to solve this problem. anyone can help or SONOS???

Can anyone help me, since up dating to new app every time I leave house or shut down phone I have to reset up system. It shows no system found. I have a sud, playbar and three Sonos 3 speakers set up.

No devices found in sonos 2 app, but i can find them no problem using sonos 1 app but it tells me i need to use sonos 2 app.  but i cant discover any products using sonos 2, only sonos 1.  ii have restarted everything, redownloaded sonos 2 app, and internet works great.  Only 1 WiFi network in the house and all connected to the same one.   any advice would be great!

Hello, I’ve been listening to Ibiza Live Radio on my tuner radio and now it’s disappeared. i can get it on radio.net however Sonos does not support this app. i have been told to add it via tune in using it URL link.how do i get the URL link or can someone provide me with this?please advise and thanks in advance Jat

Is anyone using the new app able to successfully browse music within LivePhish+ or nugs.net? all works just fine in previous versions...and while I can authorize the services now, there’s no ability to play music or browse them

I see the sleep timer function has started to return.However, so far as I can tell, you can’t use it with NAS content.Anyone else finding the same?

Hello, since the last big app update, i cannot use TruePlay, i press on « continue » were the phone is reverse and in front of my tv and were the first sounds must play, but nothing…. Does anyone has the same issue ? I already try everything, (last update on my iPhone 15 pro max, on the app too…) and it’s still there.thanks for your attention. 

Horrible, the app itself keep dropped WIFI connection, both One SL are now useless. Only Beam 2 is working. How can be trusted SONOS products?if couldn't connect any more I will not put on sale, I will straight throw away in rubbish bin after I beat up with hammer and moving forward to BOSE

Having updated to latest version on iPhone & iPad yesterday - 17th June, I’ve now found on Mixcloud the list of Followers/Following is blank. This was extremely useful for browsing to create Playlists.

Now that we have the new Sonos web app we can control our Sonos players from anywhere in the world, something that I believe wasn’t available before.Is there any way to turn that off?

How do I download the latest Sonos app without having to put in a credit card ?I deleted the Sonos app on my iPhone because it wasn’t working .i thought I could delete and reinstall the app.It keeps asking for a credit card . Why?
