Controllers and Music services

Since the latest awful updates in the IOS app, I can no longer save speaker name changes as the useless ‘Playing Now’ window blocks the Save or Done button. I am trying to rename the ‘Patio’ speaker to ‘Office’. No combination of swipes or slides appears to hide that thing. If I click the back arrow, (the only visible option), the changes are discarded.I do NOT have Homekit or Alexa linked. How can I rename speakers now?I have the latest Sonos S2 build 80.05.04 running on an iPhone 15 Pro Max and all speakers are updated to current software. 

So I needed to check my Music Library settings on my Android Controller App to respond to another post here. Opened the controller and the Manage menu doesn’t have a Music Library setting. Checked the About screen and the controller is exactly the same version as on another Android that is showing it with no issues.Tried a Controller device reboot and still the issue persists.The Alarm option is also missing on the problem controller. 

The current version of the S2 app includes the capability to downgrade to S1. What happened?  Its worked fine since the day I got my pair of Era 300’s.  It was working as recently as last week (8-15-24).  Now I get lossless streaming but not Atmos on music I know for certain is Atmos in my library. I’ve restarted my Mac and my iPhone and the speakers and still no Atmos.  I’ve tried the trick where you move the S2 app scrub bar to get it to correctly show if its streaming Lossless or Atmos music but that doesn't do any good.My iPhone is running Sonos app version 80.06.03 installed on July 30.  The Era 300’s are both running version 16.3.1 (build 80.1-55240).

I can’t tune my brand new Arc and gen 3 sub with Trueplay because the app gets stuck on the “turn your phone around and point it at your TV at eye level” screen; the Continue button does nothing.  Because of this, my new system sounds hollow and awful.  I have heard that the new app released earlier this year in May is the culprit.  I have tried restarting my iPhone 14 Pro Max, and deleting and reinstalling the app.  I thought maybe I could get around this issue on my iPad Pro but I can’t even get get passed the license agreements screen, even after reading everything, the Accept button will not allow me to proceed.   This app seems fundamentally broken.  Does anyone know of any work arounds to get Trueplay working so I can enjoy the system that I paid nearly two grand for? I was really excited about finally getting a Sonos system for my setup, but unfortunately this debacle is making me want to take everything back to Costco and get something else.

The new sonos app on MacOS and iOS do not have a 15 second (or 30 second) rewind button option, or a forward button option which was on the previous app.When listening to a audiobook it was frequently used to replay by a 15-30 second jump backward. Using the scrollbar is difficult when going back a short distance

Exact opposite of everything I’ve Googled.I deleted an album from my NAS. It’s gone. I’ve searched and searched and it ain’t anywhere.Yet it still appears - and plays - from my Music Library. (Yes I’ve updated my Library and yes I’m using updated versions of controllers...)Of course, there’s no way to see any of the underlying data of the file to try to trace it.Anyone else seen anything like this?

My speakers have been offline since I switched my internet connection.  However the app won’t allow me to update the information for the new connection. The button to do so is basically frozen. It won’t work or allow me access to that menu.  Anyone else having this issue?  I have erased and re-downloaded the app, updated it, everything has been done!

When I choose YT Music from the Sonos music menu, all I see is a folder for playlists. When searching for specific songs/albums/artists in Sonos search, I never get any results. The only way I can get it to work on Sonos is just via AirPlay. Am I missing something or is the YT Music integration that limited?

Music skipping around within songs. Forward and back, almost entire verses it seems. System is 2 Era 100s connected with Ethernet now to the same ethernet switch. Gig internet with plenty of bandwidth available. Only happens when streaming from services in the Sonos app (I only use Apple Music). AirPlay seems unaffected. I had the same issue when using WiFi so I switched to Ethernet. I assumed that using Ethernet for both speakers connected to the same switch would fix any timing issues.

trying to connect a nas drive to my sonos system but keep getting an “access denied” message when I input the path, user and pass.

When both Me and my Wife starts a song on Spotify via the sonos app, from our iPhones, the song wil start to Play from the sonos unit for 10 second or so, and then it stops. Follower by an error message saying «we could not Play <name of the song>, the connection to Spotify was lost». This started for a couple of weeks ago, we have not encountered exacly this problem before, been using Spotify via sonos for more than 10 years. Spotify works fine from just the phone, in the Car via Bluetooth or Dock conectoon, or via Denon Heos, All other services with sonos also works just fine. There is only a problem with Spotify with sonos. im thinking may be some settings have changed?any one have any sugestions? thanks on advance!😉Christian

I was about to buy my first SONOS speaker(s) and just came across the comments about the latest App and the issues with it. Of course , now I’m struggling. Should I wait or buy something else. How bad would it be for a first time SONOS user? Is it more a problem for a longtime SONOS customer that lost some features / functions he or she used to have? Thank you. 

I am trying to add LivePhish to my mobile app so that I can play it on my Sonos One. When I try to add the LivePhish app, I am having issues with connecting LivePhish. I can click on the button that “I have an account.” The next page requires me to use a code to authorize my account. It asks that I verify that the “user code matches the code on the decive.” Nothing can appear on my sonos, so I cant verify the device. Anyone have any suggestions on what I’m missing? Thanks in advance!

I looked around to see if anyone had requested this, but I couldn't find it. Apologies if the request has already been done.  In the previous app it was possible to view the streaming format Flac, MP3,... It would be great to have this again (with bitrate indication if possible) 

According to the Sonos ‘Support’ team, I am the only customer they have that has the following issue…Since the recent App update, I was unable to access Apple Music and had to ‘reauthorize’ this. Tried, failed, reported, advised, tried, failed etc. Uninstalled, reinstalled, repeat etcI was told that I could only access Apple Music if I had a paid monthly subscription, which would seem to me to be an illegal practice given I have a fully owned local library of 26,000 songs stored on Apple Music and indeed I can listen to that content on my Mac, iPhone, in my car etc.After testing that theory, it was indeed correct. Only by restarting a monthly subscription to Apple Music would it get past the Sonos gateway, which I don’t require as I subscribe to Spotify.On closer investigation, access to Apple Music through Sonos was then only limited to a minority of my library and playlists. Most tracks are ‘greyed out’ and can’t be accessed. Not just tracks I’d burned but also ones I’d paid for and

Hi,Sorry if this is answered elsewhere.  This is my first post.  I am really struggling with the app.I have added a speaker to the system but when the app said it was added, I cannot see it in the system.  I just want to add it to a room as an individual speaker but I cannot find it on the app.  Any help would be great.Last question - I have a bunch of speakers in one group.  I want to use one of the speakers by itself.  Similar problem to the above - I cannot choose (or see) the individual speakers of each group in order to select them for a new group.  For example, if I take one of the speakers from the existing room / group and put them in another room, it is still in the same old group (because I cannot see the speaker to ungroup it or add it to another room).It is not obvious on the app how I do this.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thank youCameron 

Hello, Hello, I am having a problem with Bel RTL radio and 2 streaming applications.  Impossible to listen to Bel RTL via SONOS and with the RADIOPLAYER application.  However, if I listen to it directly via the iPhone the station starts immediately without any problem.  With the second MyTuner Pro application, it works but I have to try it several times. I also have to listen to another channel first and then select BelRtl. Again in respect to the new app and the lack of support for local music libraries, has anyone noticed that albums are no longer sorted by Album Artist but by the Contributing Artists?In my view, this means instead of having the single album of various artists, all songs are listed individually. How Sonos could stuff this up so badly beggars belief.

This is a new thread on a topic that was previously marked as ANSWERED but for the life of me I couldn’t find it!My iPhone app happily connects to my SONOS system, as does my MacBook app. However, my wife’s iPhone could not find our SONOS system on the app from her phone. I did all the recommended actions   like rebooting the network etc. to no avail. None of the iPhone settings like private relay, blue tooth connectivity, LAN connection came into play. Our two phones are configured the same way! I even removed the app and reloaded it without success. In the end, I removed the app from her phone once again and power-cycled the phone. Then I reloaded the SONOS app and it worked. I could speculate on why this worked but I would just be guessing.If this works for you, I’m glad I could help.

I am at a complete loss here — even after spending an hour and a half with Sonos customer service today, I haven’t been able to find a solution.I wasn’t able to reauthorize Apple Music, so I removed the service to add it back that way but have been unable to do so even after:resetting internet (including custom DNS per Sonos rep)  resetting Sonos system trying on different devices deleting, resetting appAny ideas on things to try? I’m able to add other services (added, removed, re-added Spotify and Amazon Music), but every time I try to do Apple Music I get a “Something went wrong: Check your internet connection and try again.”If it helps, I have a system with: Era 300, Roam, Amp, Frame, Bookshelf and Play:3

Hello all,I have a house full of Sonos Play 3s and a Sonos 5 speaker that were old on my IOT WiFi network.  I wanted to move them back to my non-IOT WiFi network, which proved impossible using the normal “update your network” workflow through the app.  I got frustrated and factory reset every single speaker and connected them to my non-IOT network one by one.  Well, three days later and half the speakers migrated back to the old IOT network, and some didn’t.  I see both networks listed again in the app, and even when I try to delete the old network, it reappears about 10 seconds later.  Any ideas on how to fix this once and for all, I’ve wasted enough time trying to fix this and am tiring of constantly having to be patient with this system.Thanks in advance.

Hi, a few questions.Since last update all my library album cover won’t show up anymore. On phone nor on windows.Why can't I use SONOS for my library when the internet is down? Everything (NAS etc. )is connected to the home WiFi. For such as expensive system that should be possible..Thanks
