Controllers and Music services

Earlier this week, to my unexpected joy, I found I could access past BBC prom concerts by clicking on ‘podcasts’.  Today however, when I click through from ‘BBC Sounds’ to ‘Discover Podcasts’ there is simply a message ‘Unable to browse music’   Is this a temporary problem ?  I can see there was a conversation several months ago.  Is there anything I can do to access past BBC concerts ?

I have 2 Sonos One speakers and an using the new Sonos app to play radio stations (e.g. NHPR, WNYC). Several times I have noticed that when I change the station (e.g. switch from NHPR to WNYC), the system continues to play the original station (e.g. NHPR). If I switch to a different service (e.g. SiriusXM) and then return to the station I want to hear (e.g. WNYC), then it works as expected.  Do others have this issue?  Thanks,  John

So I just realized Sonos can no longer access my music library and after doing some searching online I found out it is an error that is affecting many users. However, since I am not the most tech savvy guy, I don’t know if my specific setup is the same of other users reporting the issue, or maybe there is something I can do to fix it. I have 2 Sonos Play:1 with Sonos OS2 and a Sonos Port with Sonos OS2 as well. My music library is on a flashdrive attached to a USB port on my router. It is a Sercomm FG824CD v2 provided by Vodafone Spain which runs samba 3.0.37. SMB file sharing is activated without user or password.This setup has been working fine por a couple of years, but now the library has disappeared from the Sonos app and I am getting a 913 error when trying to relink it. I can access the folder from my Surface without any issue.I don’t know if anyone can help out with this or if it is the exact same issue other users are experiencing. I hope Sonos rolls ou

Hello - My music library is still not functional, looking for help or ideas.  I’ve got it successfully added to the app.  When I click “Music Library” it takes me to the categories (Artists, Albums, etc.).  From there, anytime I click on a category, I receive a “something went wrong” error message.  Every once in a while (with no discernible pattern that I can see, it will show my library after clicking on Artist.  When it does, if I click on the artists’ name, it then gives me the “something went wrong” error message. Sometimes, I’ll open the app and the music library is gone.  Then it’ll magically appear (usually after a few minutes).   I have both an android and an iphone, pretty much same experience on both.  I do have the Windows desktop app - and that still works perfect.  If I play a playlist or queue with the desktop app, I can manage it / change songs via the mobile.  I cannot; however, browse my library or make any changes to said list / queue.F

Just taken delivery of a new ERA 300 and it won’t play Apple Music -  I read the following but have not a clue how to accomplish it? There was an immediate update when I set the system up but that seemed to go ok.Spotify is working fine as is Amazon. Summary from another post - which may to may not be the answer. The new app is so frustrating. There used to be a search function where I could choose to search by Song title, Artist, Station, etc. I would get results from a variety from several different platforms. Now that all appears to be gone.  How can I search for specific songs to add to my playlists? Oh, wait..the playlists have disappeared too.

Don't ever buy Sonos.  Have large investment in equipment and they screw you with a software upgrade that doesn't support your equipment and won't let you stay on old software to keep using what you already have

I am done with the new Sonos app. It even removed my playlist which I took years to build!! I want to sell my Sonos speakers and playbar and move on. They need to fire the head who released this glitchy and useless update. Can I get the lower level update of the app?? Today's chat with Sonos:Thank you for your patience! I want to let you know that I have checked and this is a known issue. We are investigating this issue and working on a fix, but there is no time estimate for this fix at this time. In the meantime, if you still want to play Apple Music, you can do so via AirPlay or Bluetooth.Does anyone have a similar problem with Apple Music?

The app upgrade is AWFULL! Why have you made it so crappy? User experience is a complete downgrade to the old version. Why fix a problem that doesnt exist?

All of my digital music is stored on my western digital Nas Drive. The previous S1 and S2 apps allowed me to update my music index whenever I added or deleted music on my Nas Drive. I can’t find that option in the new app.   I was also able to create shortcuts to the various music folders on my Nas Drive through the old app, but apparently the new version no longer supports that option. Why is that?

Hi All, Has there been any indication of when album art on Android will be restored for local library files?  Apologies if this has been addressed elsewhere - complaints about the new app are so numerous it has become difficult to find reliable, up to date information.  Thanks. 

I was using the BBC Sounds from within the Sonos app S2 to play live BBC radio on my Beam but the sound has started cutting out on a regular basis which is very irritating. As I have apple devices I have switched to using bbc sounds app on my device and airplay to the Beam. It doesn’t cut out and in my view the sound quality is better.Having spent a considerable amount of time doing checks on my network it appears that it is actually the Sonos App that is the issue. Having also lost my music library on the recent Sonos app upgrade and not had a chance to add it back in - I do wonder what the point of the Sonos App is? Beyond doing initial configuration I can do everything I need without it to a more stable and better quality. Very disappointing from Sonos.

Why will my music not play continuously When a track ends I have to pick another song no shuffle feature either Apple Music

 this suggestion doesn’t work in the new app because the nesting of the menu tree doesn’t match what is described. Is doing something like this still possible?

I nearly always have to turn WiFi on my phone off and then on again for Sonos app sys 2 on Android to recognize my Sonos system. You ight know about this defect but I thought it worth a message to ensure someone is aware of it. Tha app on PCs don't have this problem.

Getting Error Message 913 when trying to add music folder from external drive.

I am trying to follow the steps to restore my music library. I don’t understand Step 5 . . . “if the new local account is not listed” . . . What is the New Local Account?

My music library is not bringing over or indexing any of the music from the mapped folder.  It had been working fine for awhile using the NAS workaround that has been documented.  The folder can still add fine but nothing indexes.  The entire music library folder is empty even after trying to manual update it.desktop version 16.3 build 80155014Any ideas? anyone? Moderator edit: combined posts

Like many, I am a victim of Sonos stupid ‘upgrade’ resulting in Error 913.I am on S2 and cannot access music, so I am looking to buy an NAS. I understand that it must have SMBv2 or 3 (I’m afraid I have no idea what this means!). I have Sonos Roam and Play 5 and my music file says it is 107GB (yes I probably do need to do some clearing out of stuff I never listen to!).I would welcome any help and suggestions for how to proceed and what exactly to look for. I have just been hung up on by a support person whilst in the middle of an online chat.. I am losing my mind here trying to downgrade a factory reset sonos one (2nd gen) to use with my existing s1 system. I already have one of these speakers on the system but it won’t let me add this one.. This article https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/downgrade-a-sonos-product-to-s1 keeps refers to things which just don’t appear as options anymore. I have tried ‘adding a missing product’ I have tried for hours to downgrade the speaker but it just doesn’t seen possible. Please help

The old app had the ability to “play in another room” by clicking the three dots to the right of a song or such.  Is this hurried in the new app, or coming, or what?

After the app update I just cannot use my sonos system. I did reset the app and added my speakers to the system but the app was not responding. I deleted the app and installed it again, but still the same issue. I spent literally hours with sonos support but they provided me with no solution. The situation is so disappointing. Does anyone know any workaround ?
