Hi I recently had to disconnect my Sonos connect amp. Upon reconnecting I just get a green flashing mute button. Any ideas
Hi Just changed our TV and unfortunately it does not have a headphone Jack like the previous TV had. To allow the TV to work with the ZP100 I have had to use a HDMI to RCA converter. This works Ok apart from when the TV is off I am getting noise out of the ZP100 speakers and looking at the ZP100 via the iOS app it is showing as still receiving a signal. The HDMI to RCA converter is powered from the TV via a usb outlet and powers off when the tv goes into standby mode, unfortunately the only way I can get the ZP100 to ignore the “noise” on the autoplay input is to disconnect the RCA output from the converter. I’ve tried adjusting the autoplay input level but this does not solve the issue. Any body got any ideas how to solve this issue please as ZP100 worked fine with the previous TV.
I’m looking for a new set of speakers for my Sonos Amp. The amp says speakers should be at least 125W for 8 ohm speakers, and at least 200W for 4 ohm speakers. The R3 Metas are 4 ohms nominal. 110 db max output, 15-180w amp requirements. Will there be any issues with this setup?
Hi,I have 4x zp120 amps.My booster is hard wired in to the router. 2x zp120 amps are in the same storage cupboard as the booster - no issues with connectivity.2x zp120 amps are in a cupboard further away. They are both stacked on top of one another. 1 of the amps has connected to my network. The other won’t connect. I have tried doing a factory reset (4 times). I have also tried resetting my router & booster. These ideas aren’t working. If connect these 2 amps together via Ethernet cables, would that help me? Thinking that the one struggling to access the network could then piggy back on to the one that is successfully on the network??!Thoughts, help, comments are all welcome!
Hi,I had a Sonos Boost connected to my router with a system of a Play 3, a 2nd Gen Play 5 and 2 One SL’s. These all worked together perfectly. A couple of weeks ago, we had some works done at home which meant that everything had to be unplugged and disconnected. I set the system up again last week but the Boost refuses to work. The power light is on and it’s connected directly to our router as before (which is working fine) but it’s not being recognised by my app. I’ve even performed a factory reset, but the light just flashed green without ever connecting. I replaced my old Play 5 with a stereo pair of Fives and they work just fine, as do my two One SL’s. The Play 3 seems to be having the same issue as the Boost insofar as it isn’t connecting. My question is, do I still need the Boost or is it now an obsolete piece of equipment? I’ve actually unplugged it and packed it away and my system continues to work, so I guess it’s not needed. Same question regarding the Play 3. I know this is a
I have a turntable, an old Cambridge A500 amp and a Sonos port. I want to play through an Era300 but not hard wire it. is this a simple set up?
Hi,just purchased era 300 in order to replace SL one mounted on the wall.since I would like to keep the same position I would like to get feedback on the below wall location:Distance from the floor ~2 metersDistance from the ceiling ~1 metersDistance between both era ~3 meters I understand that the best way is to mount them in upside down.Any feedback if this should be ok? Any concern I should take in account?thanks in advance,
I have a new pair of the Sonance Sonos in-ceiling speakers and a Sonos Amp and am about to do an install. Before I started cutting holes in my ceiling, on a table, I connected the Amp to the speakers as test. Best way to describe the sound is, it’s like the music is coming from my iPhone. It’s super flat with virtual no mid or low range.I double checked speaker wire connection and tried on two different amps, also listened individually to each speaker and both sound the same. Is something magical going to happen when they are in the ceiling and I use true play or is something wrong with these?
I’ve hooked my new Port up to my old Scott receiver/amplifier and, thanks to the advice and wisdom of the community, I am able play CDs through the Port as well as use the “old” systems speakers with my Sonos speakers (Tape In/Tape Out/ Monitor). But, I’d like to be able to play the AM/FM from my receiver through the Sonos system. So far, this has eluded me. Can anyone suggest any options?
Hello again, I have a Bose Acoustic Wave Radio/CD system and would like to use the speakers on the Bose with my Sonos 1 system. I have a Sonos1 Amp and have plugged the output to bose input, with no sound and tried sonos input to Bose input with no sound. I set the AMP up with the APP and can see the AMP in Sonos. any idea what I am doing wrong?
Hello everyone,I'm currently facing a couple of challenges with 13 Sonos Ports and would greatly appreciate any advice or solutions you might have. Remote Configuration: I need to set up these Sonos Ports in a remote location, which is a 3-hour drive from my current location. I'm wondering if there's any way to configure them remotely. I have a Windows and Linux machine available at the site and an ESXi setup. Is there a method to perform the initial activation remotely without physically pressing the button on the devices OR without using the phone app (asking the client to press the button)? I have the codes on the back of the devices. Network Segmentation and Issues: In my last setup, I had to ensure that these Sonos Ports did not interact with each other. To achieve this, I created 13 separate VLANs on a Fortigate 81F, propagated them through Unifi USW Pro 48 PoE switches, and set up individual access points for each room on a U6 LR AP, each containing a single VLAN. Although it
Is it possible to connect a Media Streamer such as an Eversolo DMP A-6 or A-8 to the Sonos Amp through the HDMI IN to play the music over the connected speakers on the AMP?
Hello Everybody,Im new to the Community But I’ve been using Sonos for a long time now.I have a Sound Bar, Subwoofer, 2 Sonos Play 1, I am using Sonos S2 app to listen to my Music.I recently bought a Sonos Connect to hookup to my Receiver and it requires s1 Software to hookup to all my Home Speakers. I tried pushing the Play/Speaker and Volume + so the s1 can find the unit. The app said I have to use S2 App. S2 cannot fine the Sonos Connect. Is there anything I’m doing wrong here in my Setup?I appreciate all your input--Thank You in advance.Rod
I have decided to connect a CD player to one of my connect:amp devices. Are there any suggestions about what to buy or specific things to watch out for when purchasing and connecting a CD player? Thanks
do in ceiling / architectural speakers connect to the amp via wi-fi or they need to be hardwired?
Hoping to get some advice on ceiling speaker placement in my kitchen/dining for two pairs of Sonance MAG6R’s. The kitchen/dining is 12’ wide x 23’ long. I marked with red dots 3 different configurations I have come up with. Not sure if they can be mounted in a line or not? Any help would be appreciated.
My brother-in-law passed away suddenly a couple of years ago and we visited his house this weekend. He loved tech and it’s been a nightmare for his widow to make sense of. As I’m apparently the most tech savvy (a web developer) I’ve been given the task of trying to sort out the Sonos set-up. She’s currently using an Amazon dot for music though there must be £6K’s worth of Sonos sat there redundant. He’s got two pairs of in-ceiling Sonos speakers, a Sub (Gen 1) and an early Soundbar. The set-up could be up-to 10 years old now. I managed to factory reset the Sub which was then being recognised by the Sonos iOS app, but aside from that I was unable to get anything else working.I never managed to get the in-ceiling speakers to make a sound. Am I right in thinking that there should be an Amp to go with the speakers or could they work in conjunction with the Sub?Excuse my ignorance, I’ve only ever used my Sonos One. Any advice would be much appreciated.
I have a gen 2 connect that will not join my network. When I try a factory reset it does move the the blinking orange but never to green. While blinking orange I can detect it on my S2 app but when I try to add it, it always fails when it tells me to push the play/pause button to add it with the message of “We didn’t detect a button press from the Connect”
I am going to be using a Sony STR-AZ7000ES receiver in a true 13.2 surround sound setup, with a Sonos port lined into 1 of the 3 @ 12V trigger inputs on the Sony. I mostly work in networking over that of A/V, but still do a ton of A/V work throughout the year. That said, sorry if this is a novice question, but what type of cable is used to connect the Sonos Port to respective input on the Sony receiver? It looks to me like it’s just a 3.5mm cable? Or is it something else? Thanks!
I have 2 Sonos amps that are attached to indoor and outdoor speakers only, not my tv, just passive speakers. My problem is when I turn off my tv with either the tv or cable box remotes it also turns off my amps. So I cannot turn off the tv to listen to music! How can I stop the amps from turning off when I turn off my tv? I have tried to reprogram my Comcast remote, but it didn’t work. My Samsung remote also turns off the amps.Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I have a Zonebridge BR100 & a Connect ZP90, this was working fine up until about a week ago when my Router died and I had to replace it.The new router is a TP Link Archer AX72 and is working great for everything else. As soon as I connect the ethernet cable to the ZoneBridge my internet speeds in the house plummet from around 40Mbps to less than 200-300Kbps, the TP-Link Router tells me that a new device has connected but nothing can be found on the Sonos App, the Network lights are flashing on the ZB. I have reset the ZB and the App but still no devices can be found. As soon as I disconnect the ethernet cable from the ZB my internet speeds in the house go back to normal.I don’t know what else to try.Any advice gratefully received!!
I purchased a home recently and I'm trying to understand the existing setup and how I can integrate a turntable. There's a receiver that connects to multiple sets of speakers throughout the house and then there are 5 Sonos Ports, one for each zone. If I connect a turntable to the input on one of the ports, will that allow me to play it across any zones like I can with the app? Or will I only get output to the zone controlled by the port I connect to? Also, do I need an additional preamp or anything? I'm a total idiot when it comes to this stuff. Thank you!
When looking at my Wi-Fi network devices, I never see my Sonos subwoofer. Does it connect to the arc via a sonos WiFi network?
I use a Playbase, Sub, and two Five speakers for listening to music and for home theatre viewing. I would like to add a turntable to this system to listen to my vinyl collection. Given that the system functions through wi-fi, is there a way to do this?
