I have decided to connect a CD player to one of my connect:amp devices. Are there any suggestions about what to buy or specific things to watch out for when purchasing and connecting a CD player? Thanks
do in ceiling / architectural speakers connect to the amp via wi-fi or they need to be hardwired?
Hoping to get some advice on ceiling speaker placement in my kitchen/dining for two pairs of Sonance MAG6R’s. The kitchen/dining is 12’ wide x 23’ long. I marked with red dots 3 different configurations I have come up with. Not sure if they can be mounted in a line or not? Any help would be appreciated.
My brother-in-law passed away suddenly a couple of years ago and we visited his house this weekend. He loved tech and it’s been a nightmare for his widow to make sense of. As I’m apparently the most tech savvy (a web developer) I’ve been given the task of trying to sort out the Sonos set-up. She’s currently using an Amazon dot for music though there must be £6K’s worth of Sonos sat there redundant. He’s got two pairs of in-ceiling Sonos speakers, a Sub (Gen 1) and an early Soundbar. The set-up could be up-to 10 years old now. I managed to factory reset the Sub which was then being recognised by the Sonos iOS app, but aside from that I was unable to get anything else working.I never managed to get the in-ceiling speakers to make a sound. Am I right in thinking that there should be an Amp to go with the speakers or could they work in conjunction with the Sub?Excuse my ignorance, I’ve only ever used my Sonos One. Any advice would be much appreciated.
I have a gen 2 connect that will not join my network. When I try a factory reset it does move the the blinking orange but never to green. While blinking orange I can detect it on my S2 app but when I try to add it, it always fails when it tells me to push the play/pause button to add it with the message of “We didn’t detect a button press from the Connect”
I am going to be using a Sony STR-AZ7000ES receiver in a true 13.2 surround sound setup, with a Sonos port lined into 1 of the 3 @ 12V trigger inputs on the Sony. I mostly work in networking over that of A/V, but still do a ton of A/V work throughout the year. That said, sorry if this is a novice question, but what type of cable is used to connect the Sonos Port to respective input on the Sony receiver? It looks to me like it’s just a 3.5mm cable? Or is it something else? Thanks!
I have 2 Sonos amps that are attached to indoor and outdoor speakers only, not my tv, just passive speakers. My problem is when I turn off my tv with either the tv or cable box remotes it also turns off my amps. So I cannot turn off the tv to listen to music! How can I stop the amps from turning off when I turn off my tv? I have tried to reprogram my Comcast remote, but it didn’t work. My Samsung remote also turns off the amps.Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I have a Zonebridge BR100 & a Connect ZP90, this was working fine up until about a week ago when my Router died and I had to replace it.The new router is a TP Link Archer AX72 and is working great for everything else. As soon as I connect the ethernet cable to the ZoneBridge my internet speeds in the house plummet from around 40Mbps to less than 200-300Kbps, the TP-Link Router tells me that a new device has connected but nothing can be found on the Sonos App, the Network lights are flashing on the ZB. I have reset the ZB and the App but still no devices can be found. As soon as I disconnect the ethernet cable from the ZB my internet speeds in the house go back to normal.I don’t know what else to try.Any advice gratefully received!!
I purchased a home recently and I'm trying to understand the existing setup and how I can integrate a turntable. There's a receiver that connects to multiple sets of speakers throughout the house and then there are 5 Sonos Ports, one for each zone. If I connect a turntable to the input on one of the ports, will that allow me to play it across any zones like I can with the app? Or will I only get output to the zone controlled by the port I connect to? Also, do I need an additional preamp or anything? I'm a total idiot when it comes to this stuff. Thank you!
When looking at my Wi-Fi network devices, I never see my Sonos subwoofer. Does it connect to the arc via a sonos WiFi network?
I use a Playbase, Sub, and two Five speakers for listening to music and for home theatre viewing. I would like to add a turntable to this system to listen to my vinyl collection. Given that the system functions through wi-fi, is there a way to do this?
I have owned my Sonos system for a couple years now. I have always used SiriusXM. Just recently SiriusXM randomly stops playing at no certain streaming length of time. It can be from a few minutes to hours. It doesn’t always connect back immediatley, sometimes it takes a few minutes to reconnect. Like I said this just started happening recently. I have seen several posts about this issue but no answer to how fix it or what the problem is. IS THERE A FIX?
Before ordering the Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB turntable I spoke with Sonos customer service and was assured that I did not need additional components to connect to my Play 5 2nd get speakers. After unpacking and setting up my turntable I discovered this is no the case. What components do I need to connect it wirelessly to my Play 5s. Customer service has been of no help.
I have an s1 system with two connect amps. I just purchased a move 2. My understanding is that I need to remove the s1 devices first, using the s1 app. Support docs say to go to settings - system tools - remove products. This option does not exist on either my android or iPad s1 apps. When I open the Sonos app (the newer one) I get stuck in an endless loop of trying to connect to my s1 products.Any ideas on what to do?edit: sorry, I just read that I need to factory reset the s1 products.
My husband recently purchased a Sonos system -- ARC, sub Gen 3 and Era 300 speakers. He has an old turntable that he wants to connect to it and I would like to get him the equipment needed to do so for Christmas, but i have no idea what is needed. The turntable is a Technics SL-1200MK2. I think a preamp is needed? Anything else? What preamp would you recommend?
Hello, I have multiple Sonos SL speakers and a Sonos Five speaker (All hardwired). I am experiencing them falling offline randomly when listening to Spotify Premium. I notice the speaker will no longer show in the “Connect to device” list. I then reboot and the speaker shows up again. Any ideas? Please note I have replaced the router and switch with no change. Thank you in advance for any pointers.
Hi all,I feel like I am going crazy so I am reaching out for some help from kind internet strangers.I recently purchased an Era 300 which I have been using to play records via bluetooth. This has been a pretty flawless experience so I decided to get a small bluetooth cd player as well. However, after trying three separate cd players I have had zero luck getting the 300 to play music from them. Each device will successfully connect and show up in the sonos app as connected under the bluetooth menu, but once they connect no music actually plays. All three CD players work with other smaller bluetooth speakers I have lying around the house so I don't think they are the issue. I know the bluetooth on the 300 works because of my record player, but there seems to be a specific issue of playing CDs over bluetooth and I am not smart enough to figure out the issue. Is this an issue anyone else has heard about? Am I missing something obvious? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
I have three Sonos speakers (two Play: 1 and one Play: 3). Yesterday I bought the Pro-Ject E1-BT turntable (bluetooth). If I wanted to listen the music of my new turntable on my Sonos speakers, I would have to buy the basic Sonos Connect or the amplified model (Sonos Connect Amp)? Thank you,Andrea
I just set up my Sonos system and I am not sure if the following is correct: it is **not** possible to send output from any Android app to Sonos app to have it outputed through the Sonos speaker?Take the YouTube app (not YouTube music)as an example. Is my understanding correct that it is not possible to use the app and listen to it's content on the Sonos speakers (at least not out of the box)? If it is correct am I the only one thinking this is somewhat fraud? There are endless apps which have audio output and Sonos decides that only a few dozens are worth being used (as they are supported as services in the app)?
I am trying to setup my Theater room where my 98% of usage will be of watching movies and rather than going with a traditional setup wondering if i could do away with Sonos Arch + Sub + anything else (I am looking for surround sound more than Atmos) as most of the streaming services only support surround sound for now.Planning to setup a Screen size of 135 - 150 in Projector screen Will I need a AC Receiver If i have to use a sonos with a Epson 3800/4400/5050B ?My room is going to be a closed room with dimensions 14 x 19 x 11.Will Sonos Arc and Sub version 3 work with this size of a room ?
I have a multi room system. We have Play 3/5 and 1 throughout the house. We use a Boost to connect to the Wi-Fi router as it is not close to any speakers. But it is becoming unstable it seems. Is there a better option for connecting to the WiFi? Thanks
Hi,I have a Beam 2 soundbar connected to my TV via HDMI eARC and Symfonisk surround speakers. I also have a classic 2.1 setup with a Marantz PM7000N receiver in the same room. I would like to connect these two systems so that they play simultaneously (music streaming, TV playback) and can be controlled simultaneously, e.g. using the TV remote control. Will this allow me to Sonos Port the device without delay using grouping and how would the grouping behave when playing Dolby Atmos? I am mainly interested in supporting the bass component during playback, which is missing in the Sonos system.
Hi,I have a Gen 2 Beam, a Mini Sub and two rear Era 100’s, is it possible to add a further two Era 100’s as front right and left speakers? The TV and the Beam are off centre in my room, I’m thinking that two front speakers would enable me to balance the front sound with the Beam acting as a centre speaker (I previously had a non-Sonos setup which did this).
Hi Sonos, i have spent a fruitless few hours trying to get my system not work. Despite little hiccups with previous app updates I have generally been able to get it working. Now however, I am just sooooo annoyed and frustrated by trying to connect my well placed existing system. All the trouble shooting suggestions require massive disruptions to the WiFi in my house or unplugging each device and starting them individually, only to find they connect for a millisecond and then disappear and say the product was not found. I have sent diagnostic reports, but all it will say is nothing is found. i had a great system and well connected to my WiFi, only to have an obsolete system working perfectly for a number of years. Now I am just deflated and disappointed as I contemplate buying a new system I can afford! Thanks for not showing any loyalty to your customers or systems.
