I didn’t remove my S1 Connect before upgrading to the S2 app. What is the easiest way for me to remove it now so I can run it separately in S1?Thanks
Hey gang,We have a SONOS ARC and SUB and it sounds amazing. Have some questions about how to integrate this for ATMOS with some architectural speakers? Like - how many AMPS will we need? And will this all work haha? Here’s our setup and question/situation laid out in more detail, haha: The house we bought/renovated came with 4 built in wall speakers perfectly placed for surround sound - 2 in the front, on either side of the TV (and about 10 feet apart, 2 feet above ear level, per Dolby). And 2 in the back - about 10 feet behind us, at ear level. Honestly, all pretty close to spec with what Dolby recommends when you go on their site. So that’s all good. On Black Friday, I found 4 SONOS in-wall speakers to replace these - as the ones we had are third party, and I know Truplay won’t work unless you use the SONANCE, yeah? So we’re going to get these installed. So that’s the first question - to have these work with the ARC and SUB, do we need one AMP or two AMPs? Ive seen several posts in t
I have Play 3 (x2) and Play 1 working just fine. They access Synology NAS for my music folder. I added a Connect:Amp (ZP120) which feeds 2 outdoor speakers, but it’s access to the music folder is denied. Radio and Spotify work fine, just access to the NAS folders is the problem.I have rebooted the NAS (I have SMB1 and NTLMv1 checked), removed and readded the path to the NAS folders in the S1 app.I tried altering the config file (smb? via SSH and PuTTY) but when I typed in cd/etd/samba it said that the file could not be found.I can play the outside speakers from the NAS file, but I have to group it to either the Play 3 or the Play 1.I cannot figure out if it is the Sonos unit or the NAS.Any ideas?Glenn
Hello everyone, i got a questions, just about to buying set of 4 sonos celling speakers. I am confused with the locations, anyone could help? Thanks
Hi, I have an old Sonos Connect: Amp that I have a couple of bookshelf speakers connected to. I also have a Sonos Bridge. Can I somehow play my Apple TV 4K audio through the speakers? This would have to be over wifi. This Connect: Amp does not have HDMI.If so, can somebody point me to instructions on how to set this up? I cannot find any information on this.Thanks.Sonny
Hi, I’ve built a new kitchen diner extension on my house and wanted to install the architect/Sonance in ceiling speakers in the space. I’m looking at buying the set which gives two speakers and an amp, then adding a second set of speakers as I understand the Amp can handle up to about 6 speakers. I have numerous SONOS products throughout my house already, and wanted to make sure the Amp would connect just like any other product and I could control music in the new space just like any other speaker in my house.Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Gareth.
bonjour a tous puis je connecter un sonos connect amp sur entree locale et faire jouer cette meme musique en groupant un deuxieme connect amp sans latence pour les faires jouer dans la meme piece?
I’m able to get my CD player INTO the port. How do I get output through my receiver to my old non-sonos speakers?
Is it possible to connect Sonos Play 5 gen 1 to Sonos Amp wirelessly.
I have a Sonos AMP which was added to Apple Home app. I have an Apple HomePod too. I can control the Apple music on the HomePod with my iPhone and with my MacBook. I’m not AirPlaying to the HomePod, I can select it from the “Control Other Speakers & TVs” list and the HomePod streams from Apple Music itself. I would like to achieve this with the Sonos AMP. I know it is possible, but just via a very tricky way.Normally the AMP doesn’t show up on the “Control Other Speakers & TVs” list when I used it with other source (ex.: HDMI ARC). If I select as an AirPlay destination on my iPhone, I can AirPlay to it but in this case the iPhone sends a stream to the AMP. If I close the music app on the iPhone the music stops on the AMP. But if I ask Siri on the HomePod (not on iPhone) to play something on Sonos, a music played back on sonos, and the AMP shows up on “Control Other Speakers & TVs” list. In this case the AMP streams directly from Apple Music. I tried to disconnect the HomeP
What is the purpose of the Ethernet port on the arc soundbar and the sub? Currently I have the arc connected via WiFi but I am wondering if Ethernet would be better. Router is located on the TV console about 18 inches behind the soundbar. Wi-Fi connection shouldn’t be a problem. I do understand that my sub and era300’s connect via WiFi to the arc.
I have a Sonos Connect:Amp that has been working great until recently. I have read through several similar posts in here and performed some troubleshooting, perhaps the most helpful to highlight is after reconnecting the amp to the app, the light is white. I have no speakers plugged into the amp and I attempt to play music to the amp and it immediately begins to flash white/amber. Any suggestions?
I am buying a WiiM DAC streamer , it has SPDIF and Coaxial outputs but Plybar only has Optical Input. Can I connect the SpDIF Out directly into the Optical input of my Playbar? If no means I Need a CONVERTER?
Last week I noticed that 8 of my Sonos devices were incompatible with the Sonos 1 app. Somehow the 8 devices were upgraded to 15.x. I have never installed the Sonos 2 app, so I don’t know how this could have happened.I looked through the community forum and saw that I would need to factory reset these devices, then install the S2 app and downgrade each device. I was able to downgrade all devices except for my two ZP100 devices. The S2 app does not list the ZP100s to downgrade, so now I’m stuck.Any advice on how to downgrade the ZonePlayers? I’m pulling out my hair with all theses steps to get my devices working once again.
I have an Arc and I’d like to be able to connect my non Sonos powered sub and a turntable to it. Would the Port work with the Arc and the turntable relatively flawlessly?
Hi, I have an Emotiva RMC-1 Processor. I am wondering if the line level passthrough on the Sonos Port works with the RMC-1 processor?
I am about to ressurect my old hifi system (turntable, CD player, amplifier, passive speakers) in one of my rooms. I have Sonos components in the other rooms of the house. I’d like to be able to:continue to play music from my turntable and CD player through my old amplifier and speakers stream music from Sonos to my old amplifier and speakers send music from my turntable and CD player to the Sonos components in other roomsThe amplifier (Mission Cyrus 1) has inputs: phono, CD player, aux, video, tape; and a tape output.Reading around, I think what I need to buy is a Sonos Port, and connect it as follows:Leave turntable and CD player, and passive speakers, connected to amplifier as before Connect Port IN to amplifier tape out Connect Port OUT to amplifier tape inputI then select tape input on the amplifier if I want to stream through my old amplifier and speakers. To send music from turntable or CD player to my other Sonos components, I select the appropriate input on my amplifier, selec
I bought an open box AMP from Best Buy ($576) and a new AMP from Crutchfield ($599 Black Friday). the packaging is different. The crutchfield one is in a brown, newer style package while the open box one is primarily black.looking online it looks like Sonos has made no hardware changes it’s all software.can anyone confirm that I’m good with both of these units? I want the newest hardware and am willing to return the BB open box and spend the additional 25 bucks for another one from crutchfield.thanks in advance
Reposted as I originally posted in the wrong group 🙄We currently have 2 x ONE: one in the lounge, one in the kitchen and both grouped. Music is streamed all day as we WFH.We’re thinking of buying a Beam soundbar for the lounge, and using that to listen all day in the lounge and grouped with the kitchen, and then when we watch TV. We’ve not really thought about what to do with the current lounge ONE.When we watch TV, will we need to un-group the lounge Beam and kitchen ONE, or is there a way to set this up so we don’t have to ungroup/group each time we watch TV?We could have the spare ONE in the lounge too, can I set up sub-groups? e.g.Group 1(ALL) > kitchen ONE, Lounge ONE, Lounge BeamGroup 2 (LOUNGE) > Lounge ONE, Lounge BeamAnd still stream music in the kitche whilst watching TV in the lounge? Thanks in advance, hope that I’ve managed to ask this in an understandable way!
I wonder if anyone has knowledge of the following problem. I would like to connect the Sonos ray sound bar to a Panasonic TX-50HX580B television via optical connection but am concerned that as the tv headphones output is totally out of sync with tv picture the same issue will exist on the optical output etc. This is further compounded by the lack of any settings to adjust to solve this issue
i just had one of my Sonos One, less than 2 years old, die on me over the weekend. it doesn’t power up at all. it’s not the power cable as the cable works with another unit i have. what should i do? and fortunate / unfortunate timing, as i was looking to buy a few more units - need to relook options.
(reposting in the correct forum - apologies): Hi - I’ve read a few threads, but would like to clarify:I have two ceiling speakers (DALI Phantom E80) which are 6 ohm. I have a single third ceiling speaker in an adjoining en-suite bathroom (Monitor Audio AWC265 T2) which is 8+8 ohms.I suspect I can’t wire all three to one Sonos Amp as I would drop below 4 ohm on one channel- is that correct? (I’m new to all this…)Thanks
I am setting up a Connect and came upon the "Source level" setting. It wasn't immediately obvious to me how to interpret this but the most literal interpretation would be that "Source level" refers to the source level, i.e. one would set "Source level" low for a source producing low-amplitude signals (causing Sonos to preamplify the signal more) and set "Source level" high for a source producing high-amplitude signals. A second possible interpretation would be that "Source level" actually refers to the amplification to be applied to the incoming signal. The documentation does not resolve this ambiguity; I had to resort to experimentation. It turns out that the second interpretation is correct. This wasn't too difficult to work out but it was inconvenient. I would request that the name of the control be changed to "Source amplification" and/or that the information be added to the documentation that this setting controls the amount of amplification.
Multiple Sonos Ports in separate installations. One or multiple Ports will drop its connection ( was selected in the app, but then drops ). The Ports are all hardwired. Go back into the app select again, it will play for a few minutes and then drop again. This happens across multiple Ports at multiple locations. It is not location specific. Reboots of the switch, and modem have no effect on the behavior.Anyone else seeing similar behavior over a hardwired Ethernet network?
I recently moved into a new home. The previous owner had the home wired for multi room speakers. There are zones that would need to be controlled.1st is the living room with TV. There’s wired labeled there for left, center, and right channels. And one other wire that I assume is for the Sub. See picture below:The question for the first zone is would I be able to connect a Sonos Arc along with a Sonos Amp for the pair of ceiling speakers that would function as the rear speakers. And an existing wired sub to create a surround sound setup? 2nd zone would be for outside speakers. Which I think should be able to be handled by one Sonos Amp. I think this is the wiring for that set: 3rd and 4th zones also seem pretty straight forward also for the Kitchen and Master bath. Here’s the wiring for those areas below: Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
