Cannot Connect Sonos Connect to sonos s1 or s2

Hello Everybody,

Im new to the Community But  I’ve been using Sonos for a long time now.

I have a Sound Bar, Subwoofer, 2 Sonos Play 1, I am using Sonos S2 app to listen to my Music.

I recently bought a Sonos Connect to hookup to my Receiver and it requires s1 Software to hookup to all my Home Speakers. I tried pushing the Play/Speaker and Volume + so the s1 can find the unit. The app said I have to use S2 App. S2 cannot fine the Sonos Connect.  

Is there anything I’m doing wrong here in my Setup?

If you bought a Sonos CONNECT, it was likely used, since they haven’t been produced in years. Did you  factory reset before trying to add it to your system? Do you have an S1 system to add it to? Have you powered down all S2 devices in your attempt to add the ‘new’ device to your S1 system?
