Is it possible to connect a Media Streamer such as an Eversolo DMP A-6 or A-8 to the Sonos Amp through the HDMI IN to play the music over the connected speakers on the AMP?

You could go from an optical output, through the Sonos optical-HDMI converter and into the Amp.

The HDMI input on a Sonos Amp is looking for an HDMI ARC input. Can this device generate an ARC signal?

The system does have an HDMI ARC port on the back but on the IN Ports.  I wonder if it’s by directional.    I might need too ask Eversolo

It seems unlikely, to be honest, but if it can, the Sonos would think it a TV set, and ‘autoplay’ your content, assuming it’s in a codec that Sonos can read…which it’s hard to imagine something unusual.

Her’s another thought.  Sonos says that if your system does not have ARC you can use an Optical adaptor to ARC.  The system does have optical out… so that might be the ticket… thoughts?

Sonos can’t deal with anything over 48kHz SR, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the optical-HDMI adapter can only handle 16 bits. I hope that Eversolo is feeding some other downstream kit, otherwise it’s going to be rather wasting its energy...
