I’ve been troubleshooting audio dropouts for many months now. I suspect it might have something to do with a flaky internet connection but I have not been able to prove it yet. In the mean time, I’ve been submitting diagnostics reports and working with Sonos support to try to eliminate any issues with the sonos itself. I’ve been through all of the usual suspects. Replaced the cable. Replaced the router. Added a switch between the router and the connect to isolate a possible faulty port on either side of the cable, and using a different port on the Sonos connect. I have to explain this every time I connect with support, even if I have an existing case number, as they always tell me “its probably a bad cable”.This question is specifically about sonosnet. According to support, this is the latest cause of my audio issues. I have a single sonos connect hard wired to a switch which is connected to the router. This is the only sonos device on the network. Previously, support said
Hi one and all, I’ve had a terrible time connecting my AirPlay on my Apple devices - iPad and iPhone - to my Sonos speakers. It would connect with some one or two of the Sonos One speakers but not with the Beam. And I couldn’t get the system to group. After trying everything I saw on community chat sites like this I tried the trusty last resort. I went around and switched off the Sonos speakers one after the other (and my Sonos Port for good measure) and then turned them back on again. That was five days ago and they have worked a dream ever since. Hope this helps someone. Regards.
Sonos play base won’t work unless it is connected by the Ethernet cable, I have tried to change the network to wifi - I put my wifi password in and it says we have put in the wrong password, which definitely isn’t the case. any help appreciated!! many thanks
I am having issues with my right surround speaker cutting out when watching TV. I took diagnostic 453607019 after it happened recently. Is there anything I can do to fix this?
Just randomly started this afternoon. Submitted diagnostic 1554969200 while happening.
Hi,I’ve encountered a strange problem since I switched to the S2 controller.I have a folder with audio books for my kids. All the books have meta data with track number, artist, album artist, album, genre and year. In the old S1 controller everything was fine and dandy. Now 3 of the books are causing problems:1 book doesn’t show the entire album name, just a small part of it. 2 books doens’t show all tracks and some of them are mixed up. In the S2 controller they are even listed as track 1 a couple of times, track 2 a couple of times etc. It’s only with these two books I’ve encountered this problem.I’ve checked the meta data with a couple of different apps and programs and they all check out correctly.Again, in the old S1 controller everything worked perfectly. Anybody with an idea on what’s wrong? Thanks,Anders
There is something seriously wrong with Sonos support. My Play One failed after less than 4 years and I had to purchase a replacement, with a small discount. It was a painful process just to log the issue, then the replacement was delivered 10 days late, and only after I called several times to chase and escalated it.I now can’t return the faulty item as the link to send it back has expired as the delivery was late, and after I chased Sonos have sent 2 seperate emails from 2 different couriers, both in foreign languages. I logged a formal complaint a week ago and have had no response from Sonos who told me to email them at support@sonos.com. In fact I’ve sent 13 emails to support@sonos.com and have had zero response; I’ve called Sonos many times and have been told that the emails have been recieved, but nobody replies. The case was escalated (again) yesterday but still no contact from Sonos. How can I contact Sonos to complain, which doesn’t involve support@sonos.com as it will be
Hi - I have an issue where Spotify is constantly dropping out on my speakers. One of the two speakers in the room is connected directly to the router via ethernet cable. I consistently get 100MBs+ connections on my laptop in the same room. I can see in the app that both speakers are WM0. I have created a diagnostic report about 30 seconds after my Spotify started dropping out (on the “Office” speakers), and it continued to drop out after this. It will play for 2 seconds, then pause for 5 seconds, then play for 2 seconds etc.. Diagnostic number is 245277019. Any suggestions?
I am using Sonos S2 and occasionally I look at what track is playing, and what is coming out of the speakers is a totally different song to what I am hearing. If I ask Alexa what is playing, she says the same as the Sonos app. Example: diagnostic 2015095204Sonos said it was the Arctic Monkeys playing, but actually it was Mixed Emotions by Abra Cadabra.
Apple will not connect. - 2 play 5 Gen 2 set up as stereo pair (R&L) NOT working - Reset internet - uninstalled and re installed the app - switched everything off and on again. Made sure the settings were correct in privacy local network. Worked for a bit then back to square one. No its not the internet connection - In mean time can watch Netflix in several rooms, kids on devices lap top on at same time all working and yes I did turn off everything else while trying to get Sonos to work. This has happened several times over the years (I has 2 play 5 gen 1 units prior) - its wearing real thin now at this stage. Perhaps its time to replace entire system for a Bluetooth direct unit as this issue does not seem to be getting resolved. HOw much time is a person required to dedicate to trying to get a system working when they should be enjoying the R&R.
Hello,I have 3 x Play 1. one in the Living Room (which I never have probelms with so will not mention again), and a pair in the Kitchen. The kitchen pair have been fine until recently, when one simply stopped working. I did (many) factory re-boots, connected to the router, took it into other rooms, and while it connected to the system, and made all the right noises etc, it simply would not play music.Somehow this evening, after repeated attempts, that has resolved itself and I now have a stereo pair playing music again in the kitchen. However the app on both ipad and iphone while both showing in ‘System’ a stero pair in the kitchen, do not show the room for controlling the music - only the Living Room (sorry, I know that I said I wouldn’t menton that room again). The Mac in the kitchen does show the room, so I can play music in here. It is infuriating as I have had a trouble free few years with Sonos but it seems to have gone a bit shonky in the last 6 months or so. I am not technical

I’ve used SiriusXM for the past 2 years on my Sonos with no problem. Last week it started intermittently stopping playback. It would start again if I hit play again. Starting last night I got “This channel is no longer available” when choosing it from my favorites”. It was still available and eventually worked after closing the Sonos app and reopening. Today, the same favorite just blinks like it is about to play and then doesn’t. When I go to Sirius XM in the Sonos app and choose a channel, I get “The connection to Sirius XM was lost.” Sirius plays of course through Airplay and from the Sirius XM app and the Web with no problem. - just never through my Sonos speakers - which makes them very expensive bricks. There are many threads on this repeated issue and I tried all the reported fixes. The Sonos site says XM is up and running. I disconnected Sirius XM within the Sonos app. I also tried uninstalling the Sonos and Sirius apps and created a new password in Sirius as previous people ha
I’ve had a new router for a week (Virgin hub 3) and for some reason my 5 speaker system (3 play:1 and 2 One) won’t connect to Wi-Fi. They were on the system earlier in the week! They work on Ethernet but won’t stay on Wi-Fi or allow me to set up a Wi-Fi connection. I just get ‘wrong password’ even though I’m sure it’s right. I’ve tried to use 2 different speakers too.
On the Sonos app, it says it cannot play Pandora because I need to "reauthorize my account". When I click reauthorize, it says I'm not connected to internet -- I am. I have unplugged and reset everything. Sonos app and system have taken all updates and are current. Is there any way to fix this and be able to listen to Pandora again on Sonos? Pandora works fine on my computer and phone. Just not in the Sonos app.
Hi all, We have recently upgraded our system to S2, and swapped a Bridge for Boost for the privilege. It is now painfully slow to use by phone though (iPhone XS, nothing too old). The ‘My Sonos’ screen takes something like 10-30s to load, which seems totally unreasonable and is also way slower than S1 (slow but less than 10s). Any ideas?TIA :)
Here’s the issue.I have google Wifi (Mesh network with 3 nodes around my house) Connected (3) Sonos Ones, (1) Sonos Move, and Sonos Sub. Have this connected via wifi (NOT sonosNet) After I pair my Sonos SUB to the den, it works fine for a while then cuts out - Sometimes the Sub stops Sometimes the One stops EVERYTIME, upon linking my SUB to the ONE, the ONE loses all of its bass characteristics. It only plays mids and highs… VERY annoying - why does this change? I was told by Sonos tech support the sound is not supposed to change. Called tech support and got a response that because I am connected to a google mesh network, I am supposed to change the wireless settings to the following. Auto channel must be set to Off Choose best non-overlapping channel (1,6,11) Set channel bandwidth to 20MHz Both 2.4GHz and 5GHz should be enabled UPnP should be enabled 802.11 band should be set to b/g/n Airtime Fairness should be disabled REALLY? Here are the requirements SONOS speaks o
I have my turntable hooked up to my Sonos Amp via Line-In. When I switch to line in and play (without dropping the needle) I get silence. If I then group the Amp with another speaker (in my Case I grouped with a Beam 5.1 setup in my Basement). I suddenly have static hiss/noise coming out of my speakers hooked up to the Amp (still haven dropped the needle). Its almost like the beam is feeding a signal back to the Amp which is odd as the Line-In is on the Amp. Removed the Beam from the grouping so it was just the Amp again and the noise stops. I have no idea if this also happens when it actually plays as I don't often group with other speakers when playing the turntable but it is quite annoying. I was also able to replicate this grouping to my Move, so its not a problem with . Can easily reproduce this issue.Could the turntable be picking up wifi interference? If so, why wouldn't it be doing so with the just the Amp in the group since the Amp is still connected to Wifi for volum
Fair warning, lots of detail. I’m a software engineer with familiarity with networking architectures so I’ll be direct. I've recently upgraded both my router and modem, which is where issues began.Single floor apartment that’s less than 500sq feet. Three Sonos:One devices, none more than 3M and a single wall (wood framing + sheetrock) from the router, signal strengths are extremely high (-30dbm) and there’s no more than 4 of my neighbor’s networks competing on any channel (1/6/11). A few neighbors use the in between networks but they aren’t meaningfully contributing to any added signal load on 1/6/11. iPhone XS with Sonos S2 12.2.3System was originally hooked up with ‘Modem 1’ and an older Linksys 2.4 single band router. Sonos was stable, with Alexa enabled, no issues.I updated to a dual-band ASUS RT-AX86U. I reused the old SSID and password so I didn’t have to login the 9 devices on the network again, and had no issues. Sonos and Alexa both worked great.I then later updated to a new m
I am in UK. I use the BBC Sounds app to play radio shows via air play 2 on my SONOS system. I have a Play:3 grouped with a One SL. I only use the One SL to access air play - it will always be muted, so I am only really using the Play:3 for the sound. I know it sounds nuts but I couldn’t afford to upgrade my whole SONOS system just listen to the radio in my kitchen when the BBC decided to remove their shows from services like TuneIn in order to “improve my experience” and the One SL is very tinny on its own. Here’s the problem: when I start a radio program and connect it to SONOS via AirPlay the volume on the One SL and Play:3 always reset to a high level and I have to race to mute the One SL and lower the Play:3. This happens every time I make the AirPlay connection, it always resets. I have searched iOS, BBC Sounds and SONOS settings but can’t find a starting volume setting anywhere. Is there a way of avoiding this annoying habit of high initial volume over AirPlay?
Hi, I was recently bought a Nest WiFi, until I connected the system my Arc work excellent. Now I trying to make the same with the Nest and the Sonos don’t open the temporary WiFi during the setup. I was also tried connected with wired to the Nest and I saw the device but can configure it. After installing the new app and boost, my system is now split in my house. The tv area with the playbar, 3’s and base are seemingly on their own system while everything else is on a different one.
I've had problems with my S15 gen 2 Connect that have gotten progressively worse. In addition to this device, I've got 6 Play:Ones, one ethernet connected for Sonosnet, that are still running normally. I'm running S2. First, the S15 showed up in my system and played for awhile and then would stop playing. Tricked it back in by joining a group but went away fairly quickly. Then it disappeared from the system altogether so I did a factory reset and added it back into my system successfully but it went back to playing only briefly before stopping. Now it has vanished from the system again and won't progress to the flashing green point of a factory reset. Flashes white 4 times fairly strongly with slight flickering on the 4th flash and then stutters on the 5th and very faintly has orange on the pause/play button. Continues to cycle through like this.Okay. Plugged the Connect into the router directly. Now will flash green for awhile but then not. Successfully added the Connect b
I am using 2 Sonos one SL with my Apple TV HD as the audio output. My system had been working great for weeks and all of a sudden the speakers are unable to connect via the Apple TV. The speakers are working fine through my MacBook and iPhone but not Apple TV. I have reset the speakers, router and Apple TV and nothing changes. Please help! This is very frustrating and I haven’t been able to find a solution…..
Hello,New owner here. I installed my Sonos AMP this morning. Configuration is: Sony X900H, Sonos AMP driving two Paradigm Studio 20 V2 reference speakers (bookshelf) using HDMI ARC. Problem- music is day and night compared to TV internal speakers. But during regular TV broadcasts, the TV internal speakers sound noticeably better than the Sonos/Paradigm configuration. Any thoughts? I’ve adjusted the EQ. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Robert
