So in our house we have two wi-fi networks: the main Virgin one, and then I have an AirPort Extreme connected by Ethernet to the Virgin router, the AirPort broadcasts as a separate network. The AirPort network was created during lockdown to boost upstairs office signal strength. I have a One SL in the office, configured to the original Virgin network (three Sonos products in the setup). Overall the AirPort network seems to be stronger and I want to try switching over to it. Bear in mind that the AirPort network doesn’t work if the Virgin network is switched off - so when I open the Sonos app the original network is always recognised, Based on my reading this does not seem to be a straightforward process. Is the only option to reset all three speakers and reconfigure as a new network? I don’t have Sonos playlists etc so not a big deal necessarily (apart from being very laborious). I’m no firmware designer but it does occur to me that Sonos users are like most other people who move
Hello friends! There is a problem: my friend gave me his old Sonos Play 1, but FORGOT to disconnect it from his account. I cannot connect it to my system until he disconnects it, but he switched from sonos to another system and does not want to remember his account. What should I do? I cannot reset it to factory settings.
I have a system what I’m use in our house since 2,5 years. I have an asus mesh wifi system and 8 sonos zones. 1. living room: playbase, sub, one + sl as a surround system 2: kitchen: stereo pair play 13: entrance: symfonisk lamp alone4: home office: play 1 alone5: bathroom: symfonisk bookshelf alone 6: bath 2: play 1 alone7: sleeping room: playbar alone8: move Till now all have worked fine, nothing changed (no new device etc) just apparently in the living room where a surround system was made fall apart. Only playbase was working. I have removed the sub and the surrounds from the system. Now I can’t add them back to the room. When I tried to add they have created the same room name with “2”, “3” etc tags instead of grouping with the playbase, or simply can’t add them because of poor network connection or other issues. There are of course other devices around smart TV, Apple TV, intel nuc, PlayStation 4 pro, laptops, iPad, Xiaomi roborock etc but all turned off not to interfere wifi si
sonos playbar plays fine but starts makes buzzing noise only when connected thru optical, since a couple of days.the moment that a signal is transmitted thru the optical cable, the Playbar starts to buzz. And the buzzing is different (pitch) when playing from the TV set top box then when streaming from netflix/youtube.the volume of the buzzing is controlled thru the volume control of the sonos app.
The list of Sonos speakers has suddenly disappeared from my iPhone so that I can no longer play direct from iPhone apps such as Spotify, Primephonic, Pocket Casts etc. although I can play exactly the same material if I use the Sonos App. What has gone wrong?
Yesterday and today I have had a number of drop-outs whilst listening to Sonos Radio - radio stops suddenly and then restarts after a few seconds. I have created diagnostic 1390421046Any help would be appreciated
I recently changed my router to a ASUS Zenwifi AX8 Mesh router. My older speakers are connecting fine on WIFI but my Sonos One will rarely connect and is very unstable (keep disappearing from WIFI). Can anyone help with a fix?
For the past few days I cannot reliably connect to SiriusXM on any of the apps (Phone, iPad, Mac desktop). When I browse for SiriusXM channels I get messages like “unable to connect..” This has happened in the past and then for some reason it corrects itself days later. Why?
As move as I love the Move why when using it via Bluetooth does the music cut out when I open Whatsapp? I'm not even playing media sent in a message, just opening the app...🤷♂️😖 Is there anyway I can disable this?
I have downloaded the SONOS app for my PC and it started up fine connecting to my Play:1 and I started to play a song on Spotify. However, when I later wanted to pause, the pause symbol on the app only briefly changed to play and the music continued. Now I cannot restore connection even though I have chosen the option to reset the connection.I can still control the Play:1 from my phone as normal with no problems. Can the problem on the PC be because I in the meantime opened a VPN connection to my work? How to proceed?Best, Lars
Hi all, The Sonos controller app does not work on my new M1 MacBook Air. As soon as the software starts up, it stops responding and the only way out is for me to Force Quit. I have tried uninstalling, re-installing, clearing cache etc. Is this a known bug? Many thanks.
Hello I am using OS X El Capitan, with iTunes version 12.8.2.3. Just can’t get Sonos Move to show/work as an Airplay device. iTunes keeps on quitting when I try a click the move speaker.Tried all the usual stuff, rebooting Move and Mac. Haven’t rebooted router just yet. So, am I doing something wrong? Can Sonos Move actually work on El Capitan iTunes? Many thanks
Sinc I moved to a new home I created a new system for my Play1 (3 pc) and Playbase.I expierenced no problems with the Play1 but the Playbase will not appear in the S2 app.I tried to reset the Playbase (powercord out, press play/pause butoon, put powercord in) but the LED indicator turn into permanent green, not blinking. how can I reset the Playbase and connect to my system??
In the morning often the sonos chime plays instead of the selected radio station. Confusingly, If I open the app I can just stop the chime and start playing the radio station. I’ve found previous questions where the suggested answer was changing the sonosnet channel, but that option is grayed out in my app. I’ve tried moving the speaker around in the room but no success. I also upgraded the home wifi, which fixed the problem for a couple months, but now it’s back since a couple weeks. Diagnostic report: 1282918493
I have 3 Sonos connects s15. They are grouped and connected to my phone. I play music through the app. No sound through the speakers. Why?
I have a Sonos Move that I have been using with Aiplay 2 via my iMac for several months with no issues. Yesterday it stopped connecting or playing via Airplay. It shows up in the Airplay menu, with a checkmark, but no sound comes through the move. Other Airplay devices, Homepods, are working. I can connect via Bluetooth with my phone and that works fine. I have reset as new, updated firmware, reconnected to the WiFi network, but it still won’t play.
We run a sonos system with different players but without bridge. Excellent wireless network. But we loose every few minutes the contact to the radio stations. The duration of loss and the intervall of loass is never the same. Our internet connection is via fibre and stable. A restart of the controller did not help. Software is said to be updated.
Hi,Myself and my partner have a Sonos beam and 2 Sonos 1 speakers setup in our living room, the Sonos account under my partners email. We both have the Sonos app on our phones, both signed in under his account. Everything has been working fine, both of us able to control Sonos either using the voice command or selecting songs through the app on our phones until 24 hours ago when suddenly I tried accessing the account on my phone and the account, system, services & voice options were greyed out. I was also getting the error message “unable to connect to Sonos”. What’s weird is that my partners app was working completely fine with no connection issues. We have tried unplugging our router, switching off our Sonos products at the plug, even doing a factory reset and yet are still having the same issue. What’s weird is that now we have reset it all up through my phone it’s now working fine but now my partner is having the same issue on his phone ie. the above options greyed out getting
I recently bought a new wifi router/access point an ASUS RT-AC88U Once I switched over to it I found that I had sporadic access to my Sonos speakers (Play 3, Playbar + Sub). Sometimes I could connect to the speakers, sometimes I couldn't. When I could connect I'd sometimes be able to see all the rooms and other times only 1. I played with a bunch of wifi settings and finally tracked down the culprit. Wireless menu >> Professional Tab >> Airtime Fairness This setting is enabled by default. When I disabled it my access to my Sonos was restored to it's former fully functioning glory.
I just received a Sonos 5. I used to have my turntable running into my gen 1 connect amp. It successfully streamed to all my other Sonos speakers in the house using the Sonos 1 app. Now that I have replaced the connect amp with the Sonos 5 and upgraded the system to the sonos 2 app I’m unable to stream the turntable to the other speakers unless I have the Sonos 5 plugged directly into the router. Any thoughts on this.
Hi, approx 2 months ago I started having issues with Spotify connect. I am no longer able to play directly from Spotify app. Most of the time when in Spotify app, I can see all my Sonos speakers as available but when trying to choose either one of them I get:error saying that Spotify is not active on this device and music is still being played on my pc or phone nothing is happening it switches to Sonos speaker and shows that the music is playing but there is no sound coming from actual speaker and at the same time Sonos app shows that nothing is being played also on Sonos app I am getting errors like: the connection to Spotify was lost.I swear I have tried all suggestions I have found here including shutting down router/sonos speakers/laptops/phones and bringing back in correct order in case there’s wifi noise (all my devices are using 2.4gh), logging in and out, reinstalling, pretty much everything but factory reset for my speakers. Can’t be more frustrated now because nothing helps.
Both my amp (for built in speakers) and my playbar can be played individually from the s2 app. However they cannot be grouped together. I ran diagnostics and the associated number is 2060087850.
When I play music through my surround sound it cuts out. I have isolated it to my play bar. (Television works fine.) I have rebooted, tried it connected to eathernet and on wifi. Problem is consistently the same. I changed router settings as per sonos and it is still doing it. All other sonos speakers are fine. Any ideas?Case 02573886
