Hi,

 

My playbar isnt producing any sound via the optic cable from tv. I tried changing the cable but still no luck. My tv is a toshiba 2016. On the app it shows the tv but no sound. I tried turning the speakers off for the tv but still no luck. I dont know if this is a software or hardware issue as music directly from the app is playing completely fine. 
please help.

How long have you had the Playbar? Was it working fine before?

Check the optical cable

Check to ensure the optical cable is firmly attached at both ends. The optical cable or adapter may have shipped with a dust cap attached to the end. Make sure the cap is removed before connecting the cable to your TV or to your home theater speaker. 
 

Set the TV to output audio over optical

The TV may be set to output audio through its internal speakers. Check your TV’s audio settings to make sure it’s set to output audio through the optical port.
