Hi, It's incredible that paying for a premium product you get a cheap and bad service in the delivery. What a irritating and unpleasant experience. DHL service: 1st attemp of delivery: they claim that they tried to deliver the package, and that they find nobody at home. At that time the concierge was in the portal, with the outside doors open. Therefore, it's difficult not to see whether someone came. The concierge said that nobody came at the time DHL mention (nor even in the time frame). 2nd attemp of delivey, the day after: I stayed at home the entire day. At 18:30 a message in their tracking system appear: tried to deliver at 16:33, nobody at home. !!! What a joke!?!?!? They don't even try to call by phone to check... I called the customer service. They will "try" to dispatch the package as soon as they can... What a disgusting experience. I really expected a premium experience when I buy a premium product (or I am wrong???). Have any of yo
Recently moved. Had my system for over 5 years and always update. When I set my system up at my new home I lost pandora, Spotify and amazon music as music service options. In fact the only service I recognize is tune in. The rest are all crazy options I have never heard of. Anyone else have this problem?
I am looking for advice on two items. Big Sonos Fan! I just added my apple music and wow .. just turned Sonos into the go to streaming of my latest music collection. Never used it for this before and now looking to expand. I purchased it original to enhance the sound on a tv placed over a fireplace.. best clean esthetic finish with no existing wiring. I currently have the original playbar with a firewire to my tv, a sub that is wireless connected and a white box (cannot remember what this us for) at my mac. I am first looking to tie in my bonus room system into Sonos being able to steam music to these speakers.. current 7.1 surround.. yamaha amp.. not sure what model.. what equipment do I need.? What are my options both wired and wireless? Second question, I have a basement in planning.. looking to buy another sonos playbar and sub... maybe a few ceiling mount speakers assuming wireless is the only solution but can run wires if needed. My current setup is a cable box, play
The Sonos Community does not remember my username and password for very long. When I go to access it the next day I am signed out and have to login again. I wish that it would remember my credentials (despite me checking Remember Me). Is this an issue for anyone else? I experience it on Safari (Apple iOS 12.1) on both iPhone and iPad and also on the latest version of Google Chrome on macOS Mojave.
When I go to this thread: https://en.community.sonos.com/amazon-alexa-and-sonos-229102/petition-to-add-local-library-playback-to-alexa-sonos-voice-control-6791576 And try to go to page two, after a long pause I get: This page isn’t working en.community.sonos.com took too long to respond. I bought a Beam a few weeks back to go with my new OLED and thought it wasn't quite punchy enough so I added the Sonos Sub to the mix and Trueplayed it yesterday. The result is excellent and am extremely happy with the products. I now get the product and what it is and isn't and why it's configured the way it is. The system is deceptively loud when cranked a bit and does exactly what it's supposed to do perfectly. Streaming music is a new concept to me .... im an old guy:cool: .... but now have my pc library linked to Sonos and about 20 tunein stations Fav. Wife is getting in on the act and setting up her stuff as well and i've been ripping my CD collection so we can turf our stereo and go 100% Sonos. Have over 200 vinyl albums we havn't played in 12 years and might use em as wallpaper actually. I can see a few Sonos Ones in our future and will recommend them to anyone. Thanks Sonos
Me: "I already have the Connect:Amp. I don't really need to upgrade." Also me: "Something new from Sonos? TAKE MY MONEY." ----- In all seriousness: If you have the coin to upgrade and plan on sticking with Sonos long term, I can recommend getting the newer AMP. My B&W CCM382 ceiling speakers never lived up to their potential with the older Connect:Amp. They sounded OK but unremarkable. Powered by the new AMP, they carry so much more punch to them. There's a richness that was simply was lacking in the previous setup. Pluses: modern design, expansion capabilities (up to 4 speakers instead of 2) Here's what I should have known but didn't: swapping out amp devices means reconnecting all the speakers and services that were tied to the old amp. That took longer than swapping out the hardware. If you have neither and you're deciding between Connect:Amp or Amp, spent the extra $100. All day long.
Before the community existed in this form, Sonos had a website where feature requests had a separate status, and could be voted for. Some features introduced back then were based on popular demand. Now, requests are scattered across the community and receive the same (non-)reply every time. I think it would be good to have a separate place on these boards for feature requests, just like the "Ask a question" board. Adding a "me too" button or using the original "like" button, votes could be cast for a feature request. It wouldn't necessarily change Sonos' policy on giving information on the status of development - the previous version of this system even had a "under consideration" and "rejected" status tag - but it would at least give some visibility to highly requested features.
I travel quite a bit, one thing I miss or wish I had when in the hotel is a good sound system to pay my music\podcasts. I think the better hotels would be open to a complete system. How I see that working •Registering with the hotel wifi using your room number. Marriott, Hilton and most others use this method to prevent people leaching free wifi. •Sonos would need to develop a new enterprise back end that would acknowledge that registration\checkout and know which speakers are in what room. The tie into the registration would also allow you to know which user devices are in what room. •Adding a function to the app would grant access only to those devices that in a room. •Device security is always a concern. So Provisions to cable secure the speakers. •Upon check out the registration of the device would be wiped.
My bass was a bit too deep for how late at night it was and the song I was listening to, and I wanted to just go quick change the volume on my bass in that room. I was told it'd been a while since I'd logged in and that I needed to log in again before I could go into settings. What user-friendly advantage does requiring me to log in before I can go and change local settings like volume do for me? I bought Sonos because I was very excited about having wireless sound throughout the house years ago. I've since been told that I not only need an account ( I don't remember when I registered for one, but I did ) and then that I need to log into that account again, randomly, to change some settings like bass volume in a room? Why? This is not user friendly. I didn't want an account in the first place, I don't know what sort of information, telemetry or otherwise, you want from me. I never have any intention of buying any Alexa-integrated products from you; and, I'm really not a fan of be
I have two Play 5s and a sub that I use for TV sound (right speaker and sub) and music (paired 5s and sub). Each time I change from music stereo to TV, I have to repeat the setup steps. I cannot use the stereo setup for the TV, as the TV is not in the central position. Would it not be a good idea if the app remembered the setups so that changing from one to another was a simple app button press. As the number of configurations possible is enormous, the user could record the setup steps they perform in a similar way to the old keypress macros. This would greatly simplify changes of setups and would use a lot of the code already in place in the app.
(1) I know very recent release products, come with Airplay 2 built into them. Question is, why not have ALL prior model devices, that are hitting the manufacturing assembly lines NOW, also come with it. For example, say a Connect made in the factory TODAY, coming with Airplay. Could be just denoted with a slightly different similar model denotation (Connect 2.0 or whatever). So that it is an option for ALL devices, rather than having to do the "Grouping" work around. Side note semi related tangent, I wish Android would get on creating a standard that is the equivalent of Airplay, so that Sonos could feel as though they could adopt it also. Chromecast add-on maybe, so as to be able to audio cast from an Android tablet to a Sonos? (2) I would love the ability to be able to turn a networked Sonos unit on/off remotely, from any location, via the app. For my own specific personal home setup
Before buying my Play 5 I was in conversation with a representative from 'Sonos Chat' One of my questions was "If I find one cheaper will you price match"? Categorically Yes was typed by the representative. Amazon are selling UK plugged Play5 for £449.00 Recently another representative from Sonos chat said they DO NOT price match and whoever said that should not have said it! I'm already over it but just wanted to post in case some of you think ....... Cheers
I have just spent close to £1000 on Sonos kit after reading that the set was a 'breeze'! I cannot add my itunes library despite trying for the last 4 hours - time i will never get back. I have checked all the firewall advice, rebooted all devices and router. Turned off devices close to router. I need this resolved or the system is useless and it looks like it is not just me who is affected - the speakers will be going back. Diagnostic response number is 1167535472.
It would be good to have a few home security features in the Sonos Android remote app. If we receive an alert from our home security system. It would be great to be able to: A) speak into our phone and pur voice to be heard through our Sonos speakers. B) play an alarm & C) play music at maximum volume Would this be possible please? What do others think?
So long SONOS! After years of being an overzealous supporter of SONOS and suggesting to friends, making excuses to my family, spending hours weekly on “some new issue” and still purchasing over 40 SONOS products for multiple locations... I just can’t do it anymore. Selling my units to some other poor fools who are excited by the prospect of wireless sound. It’s amazing about 20% of the time. Then another update comes... I can’t do this anymore.
I have a playbar, sub and 2 x play 1 speakers which is great for tv, streaming and cd’s. I have a separate analogue system for vinyl but would like to play it through my Sonos system. I have been given all sorts of advice on how to do it but it all conflicts, the end reult is I have bought a Connect on the advice that I can pay my vinyl on existing Kenwood turntable through existing Kenwood KA-3020SE amp and connecting the tape out to the Connect. This doesn’t work as it seems to me like the tape out isn’t amplified. My questions are :- in simple terms please! How do I play my analogue turntable through my Sonos sound system? Do I need to buy a pre-amp? Am I wasting my time with the Connect? Given that it’s possible, what connects to what and do I have to hard wire connect an output from the Connect to my Sonos speakers or will it connect wirelessly? No jargon please guys I’m not a young guy and I’ve only just moved on from a wind up gramophone :):):)
edit: Ignore "Beta" in the title of this post. Soon after posting this message I discovered it's not just access to the Beta, it is affecting any attempt to login to www.sonos.com. I have been trying to login the sonos website for the last couple of hours but it just keeps asking for email address and password. Initially it looks like I'm logged in but trying to access "account" or "beta" just re-displays the request for email address and password. Anyone else having similar issues? edit: I've just tried resetting my password. I received the password reset email, took the supplied link and typed in a new password. It made no difference. Any attempt to login is still just met with a request to enter email address and password. No error messages.
