Advanced setups

Hi there!So I have a Sonos system in my house. Included in the system is a bridge which is hardwired to my main router (though from what I read, this is largely redundant, but it’s connected anyhow).I have an outbuilding which is at the end of the garden, and which has the house wifi extended to it via a repeater which is hardwired to another repeater in the house (note it’s not hardwired to the main router as this isn’t possible). The house repeater that the outbuilding repeater is hardwired to is connected to the main house router via Wi-Fi (mesh system - they are all Fritz!boxes).With my current set up, I don’t appear to be able to add a Sonos speaker in the outbuilding as the system can’t find it (it works if I bring it up to the house and connect it there). I think this is probably because, whilst the wifi is extended to the building, Sonos’s own wifi isn’t.What do I need to do to make this work? I have tried connecting the outbuilding Sonos speaker to the repeater in the outbuild

Hi all,I will need your help with this, My Client has sonos system in his restaurant and he is facing some issue. According to him, sometimes some player will stop playing music and came back after awhile, will say is unstable. (Drop) Sonos Player we have:8x Play5 Gen 2, 5x Play3, 1x Boost, 1x Connect We are using TP-Link Deco mesh system, Wifi Coverage no issue at all. Connection: Connect is wired to the Main Deco and a Sonos Five is wired to a Deco Satellite. Boost is being use expand/extend the Sonosnet Below is the matrix table which i don really understand and know how to read.   He intend to add 2 more Sonos 5 for outdoor area which there is no lan point. Can i get another boost to expand/extend the Sonosnet to the outdoor area? will it work?Submitted my diagnostics: 32120121Hope anyone with the knowledge can guide me. Thank you in advance.    

I’d like to have a list of all my music and wonder if there is any way too export/extract the Sonos Much Library I’ve indexed? I expect there might be stand alone music catalogue software also which might do the trick. I only use Apple Music to rip CDs Thanks

Hey, everyone!I use a USB plugged into my router to play a few songs on my Sonos. I used to be able to connect this via Music Library Setup - Add Shared Music Folder - //192.168.0.1/volume9*voume9 is just the name my usb takes when plugged into the router* Now, when I try to do this (on my iPhone), I get this message “The computer 192.168.0.1 refused to let the Sonos Product connect to it.” I also tried it on my Mac and get “There is no shared folder ‘volume9’ on the computer ‘192.168.0.1’.” I logged into my router and ‘volume9’ is still there, is not password protected, the sharing feature is enabled. I also removed the USB and reinstalled in on my router just to make sure that wasn’t the issue. So, how do I fix this? UPDADTE: I changed the wifi I was connected to on my phone to 2.4ghz and it found the USB!

I have a record player connected to a Sonos Port as an input, so I can listen to the Port as a media source on any Sonos in the house.However, if possible I would like to also use the Sonos Port as a source on my PC, using VLC for example.Is there any open network stream on the Port which I might be able to use in this fashion? I’m not sure how the other Sonos devices stream from the Port, but if for example there is an HTTP stream URL I could use, that would be ideal.TIA

I have a Sonos Port and five Sonos: 1 speakers, all connected to an eero pro-6 tri-band. The Port is connected to the gateway eero via Ethernet. None of the speakers are wired (none are connected via Ethernet) but show up in the eero app as if they are wired to the gateway, same as the Port, which must mean they are connected via wifi to the Port, right? (I'm seeing their serial numbers in the list of Ethernet connected devices in the eero app.)The app says it's unable to connect to Sonos and shows the let's fix it link. I've followed that process a gazillion times to no avail. I've tried the find missing devices instructions a gazillion times. Nothing works.It all worked fine before I added the eeros. How do I get the Sonos app to find the devices connected to the eero? Again, only the Port is wired. Only two of the speakers are in the same room, but all show as connected in the eero app. 

I have just received my SONOS Port. I have followed all the instructions and connected the Port to the AVR with the supplier phono lead. I initially had problems getting any sound at all but after I watched a YouTube video tutorial I found out that I had to have Zone 2 selected on the AVR and also have the Port plugged into Phono.Although this “works” the sound quality is unbearably bad. Also it only plays through the left and right front speakers (I have the AVR setup to my cinema projector and 5.1 surround speakers).Can anyone help? I would ideally like the sound to come out of all 4 speakers and the subwoofer. Also would like it to be using the aux channel. TIA

I have tried to connect all my components, two Sonos Play 1s, a Playbase and a Connect, to a new, closer and stronger network. The sonos Play 1s were a pair. One of them switched, the other did not. The Playbase switched but the other Sonos Play 1 and the Connect amp did not. The top button on the Connect, not just the little light, is flashing red no matter what I do. How may I get all these back to factory specs and start over with the connections? 

I moved to a new house and I want to use components I have from an old setup to use the 4 in-wall speakers in the family room for surround sound and for music. I need instruction on wiring the Connect Amp or the Connect to the receiver so that I can use the speakers for surround sound and for music. It’s a Denon AVR-X2100W. I have 3 Connect Amps and a Connect from a previous installation and I’m not sure of the best configuration.  

I have 2 Beams in separate rooms (my only Sonos products) and I am trying to get both of them onto my wired network (house is wired for Ethernet).The first Beam connects no problem and recognises the wired connection. The second Beam will only connect on Wi-Fi and does not recognise the wired connection at all (it will not allow me to disable the Wi-Fi).Is there a specific technique for getting this to work? 

Hi, turning to community to hope that someone can advise as I’m at end of tether with my Sonos setup. It’s one of those cases where speakers will occasionally disappear from the app, and playback will occasionally stop (prompting error message on app such as ‘Unable to play song - the file cannot be found’ or ‘The file was not encoded correctly’ via Spotify playback). There appears to be no common factor when the errors appear or speaker dropouts happen - can happen two or three times a day, or sometimes it might only happen once in a week. Is getting really frustrating as I use the Symfonisk to play white noise throughout the night for my 6-month-old son, so when the playback stops randomly in the night he can wake up. I have a really good fibre broadband connection, and an Asus XT mesh Wi-Fi system with one extra node at the back of the house, which appears to work perfectly well with all my other devices. I have a Beam plugged in to the main router in the front room, and up until no

So, I have been setting up my own home theater set up in my basement and not sure if I should how to improve the sound. I like everything except the bass. I’m a big fanatic of feeling that bass in music and movies just makes it more immersive listening experience IMO. I can feel only when I increase the sub audio to +15. But, I lower the volume all I hear is the bass and it’s annoying. May be due to the placement of the subs in my area. It is pretty big. It’s 31’x 25’ and also a big and also a little awkward space. My plan was Sonos Arc for front + center speakers (should be here before Christmas 🤞🏻), I have 4 sonos ceiling speakers with an amp for my surrounds and 2 subs gen 3. Would like some advice to make my listening experience better. Any advice would be helpful thank you.  

Unless I switch my play 5 gen 2 on and off at the plug it isn't recognising my record player and even when it does I can't then group it to my play 3 and move. The group would historically always Autoplay and play the grouped rooms. Nothing has changed, my settings are all correct but even after resetting the sonos tonight (when it then played but wouldn't group) when I then changed records the sonos wouldn't play again 

Hi.Probably a silly question but I can't find release notes for updates I receive as part of the beta program so I don't know what iam updating.Any ideas? 

I have the surround sound set (Beam, Sub, One x2) and just got the Five + Pro-ject T1 package.  Everything is in a medium size square-ish living room.   Based on what I’ve read so far, the Beam and the Five do not play well together (though I may be mistaken).  I have an idea as to how I set up multiple rooms and multiple groups from those rooms to have functionally two different setups, which I’m comfortable operating exclusively from the Sonos app:Room 1- Sub + 2x One Room 2- Five +Pro-ject  Room 3- Beam Group 1 (primarily for music)- Room 1 + Room 2 Group 2 (primarily for TV/ movies)- Room 1 + Room 3Is creating multiple Groups with components from the same Rooms feasible?  Any and all thoughts/ tips are very much appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

Can anyone help me to identify burned elecronic parts? 

We wish to connect a CD player to our Sonos 5, but due to its location, a direct connection is impractical. Is it possible to connect a CD player to a Bluetooth transmitter, then connect a Bluetooth receiver with RCA outputs to the Sonos 5? I know this sounds jerry-rigged, but it’s the only workaround that would fit within our room constraints.

I have a Sonos arc connected to the arc output on my tv. however I have another device that I want to play sound through the Arc without plugging and unplugging. I currently use an Sonos Arc->HDMI switch ->TV Sony                                         → other audio device (optical) since the hdmi switch is bi-directional it does sometimes work but very unreliable and now the ARC(Bravia sync) does not work and I’m not able to control the  arcs volume. Every now and then it starts working again. I do use the optical dongle to make the connection to the other device.   anyone can recommend a switch that can do what I’m looking for? Or a way to reconfigure this setup?

We are putting a four screen tv wall into our office via a hdmi matrix. It will have multiple input sources (computer, android tv/google tv, gaming consoles, etc). These sources can display on:single screen (different sources on different screens) or TVWall (single source on all screen's processed into one large screen).We want to hook our office sonos system into this so different zones can listen to different sources from the hdmi matrix, or all zones can listen to a single source from hdmi matrix.Is this achievable? If so, How?

I have Sonos set up across three different locations/ homes.I was hoping to be able to take my roam from one home to the next , and for it to be able to connected to different Sonos systems via the app via wifi that is operating other Sonos speakers I registered the roam at one house & have now moved to the next , however I can only use this roam in Bluetooth mode , the new system will not locate this device ! how do I connect it to the currents home wifi ?

We live very remote and our home broadband will never get much higher than the existing 2mbps! Has anyone got info whether 4G mobile broadband is a viable alternative as I have heard that Sonos does not marry too well with such an internet source??

As the topic says, I'll try to connect these speakers on the sonos amp, is there any trouble? Or i need an a impedance selector for the amp detect the speakers in parallel to 4 ohms? Help pls

Since adding BT Whole Home Wifi Discs to fix dead spots I have been having serious problems with Sonos components disappearing from the network.   Looking around the forums, this seems to be a common problem, with most mesh systems, not just BT.One suggested solution seems to be to move over to connecting via SonosNet (with or without Boost).  When I tried this by connecting one of my Sonos One devices to an Ethernet port it did seem to resolve the problem - except for the fact that the Roam won’t connect to SonosNet - only to WiFi.So basically we can’t win.  Virtually all major network vendors are now moving over to mesh based systems, but Sonos won’t work properly with these - and the SonosNet workaround is ruled out by Sonos’ bizarre decision to not support this on the new battery powered devices.Is there any fix for this - apart from giving up on Sonos !?

Buen dia, tengo un inconveniente bastante delicado en cuanto a la configuración de sonos , tengo un sistema luxul que consta de un router epic 5 un switch administrable, y varios access point que distribuyen wifi, resulta que por un tema conocido como broadcast storm, que es generado por el sistema de comunicación de sonos, me resulta afectando la red de wifi, sobretodo la de 2.4g, tengo varias preguntas dado que he intentado todo cuanto he encontrado en internet para solucionar dicha tormenta.tengo 4 barras Arc de sonido, 4 amp,  1 port, y 2 sub. 5 de estos equipos cuentan con cable y 3 de estos equipos se encuentran conectados vía wifi, hemos configurado el protocolo stp en los puertos que conectan los sonos, pero estos están conectados a switch no administrados de 5 puertos y este a su vez esta conectado al switch principal administrable, con la configuración recomendada para controlar el stp, pero no he logrado estabilizar mi red, la pregunta es que consejo me da sonos para realiza

This may be the most convoluted question of all time, so please bear with me, and answer as if you’re talking to a rather dull five-year-old, which you essentially are, though I’m actually in my 50s:I have two Sonos Ones, which were set up as a stereo pair at my old house; we have since moved, and got a Sonos Beam, primarily for the big new TV, and I also have a third, new Sonos One.Ideal situation: I would like to have each of the three Sonos Ones in a different room (so no longer a stereo pair, which sounds really bad now, having one in two different rooms in stereo). The Beam works fine for the TV, but I would like to be able to play music out of it as well at times, i.e. essentially having four different speakers.How do I get there from here? The two I’ve already set up are 1) in stereo and 2) calibrated for rooms in our previous house, which have much different dimensions than the rooms in the new place. So I assume I need to somehow wipe them clean and then start from scratch as
