Hello I have my local music stored on a external SSD. How can I get Sonos to play my music?Thanks 

I have many speakers around the house.  Sonos1, Play 1, Play 3, Play Base, Move, and Roam.  Until the other day when the power went out everything worked fine.  When the power came back on all units reconnected except the Roam and the Move.  After multiple factory resets and re-adds (per the guidance on the app) I am still not able to add either of these to the network.  Spent a couple of hours on this now so it’s time to post and get some group help or be contacted directly by a technical SONOS person who can resolve this for me ASAP.  Quite frustrating that this is not easier.  And both units behaving the same when adding and the along the way status messages.  Appreciate the help

Wish:I plan to get a setup with 2 Sonos Five’s (stereo setup) and 1 Sub (Gen 3) I want to set it up as a single “unit” playing music, never individually on their own I want to be able to play from an old turntable connected to one of the Five speakers (3.5mm) I want to be able to play using Google Cast or AirPlay from apps on phone or browser on MacBooks, without (always) the need to play things via Sonos appQuestions:If I connect a turntable to a single Sonos Five speaker, can I make it also play the music to the other Five speaker and the Sub, without having to manually activate them every time? If I group the speakers together, can I play to that group using Google Cast or AirPlay(2) without the need of the Sonos app (again, without having to manually enable each speaker to sync with the initial speaker)?If it requires these speakers to always be played as one or even requires an additional piece of hardware, I’d be okay with that. Just if it’s possible at all, outside the Sonos app

I have about 100 GB (over 10,000 songs) of music in M4A format in my iTunes library.  I had been using my ipad’s itune library as the source for Sonos when I want to play these older albums many of which are not readily available elsewhere. I do use Pandora and other media service providers, but I want to still be able to play my library. I had no problem doing so until I upgraded to Sonos S2 Ap. Now Apple and Sonos don’t play well together, and I am extremely frustrated. I don’t want a PC up and running and I want to do this to be as simple as possible. I was told to buy Sonos and my techies to get a montly Apple Music Streaming service, which didn’t help me at all. Sonos still can’t see my ripped CDs that are in the Apple music library, only the media service songs.I currently have Connect and Connect:AMPs in my home.I am thinking the best way to meet my needs might be to add a NAS, but I do not have any experience with this. Could someone help me to understand what I need to do to p

I have an odd problem where all my Sonos devices in the house are (expectedly) using SonosNet, except for my newest Sonos Fives (which I have configured as a stereo pair). Does anyone have any theories as to why this would be the case? I thought that Sonos devices would prefer/use SonosNet when available, and everything in my house (other than a Move which I know only supports WiFi) does use SonosNet. Is there some kind of device limit for SonosNet? In “Sonos System Info,” I do have 16 devices that list WM: 0 (i.e., SonosNet), and so I’m thinking maybe 16 devices on SonosNet is the limit? But looking online, I haven’t found a reference to device limit. BTW that stereo pair seems to be working fine on WiFi, so it’s not a big problem - I’m just curious.

I’ve seen there are a lot of questions on how to avoid the audio delay on analogue line-in connections. I’ve already reduced the delay to the minimum 75ms but as I want to hook up some DJ Equipment to my Sonos Amp so any delay is unacceptable. I’m considering a solution and want to get opinions on if it will work. I have no need for multi-room for this use case.Below is what I’m thinking… will it work?!My plan is to use the HDMI ARC input on the Amp as an audio-only input from the DJ Equipment (I believe this port has no delay). To confuse things further I’d also like to keep my TV connected to the single HDMI input on the Sonos AMP.To do this I’m considering the following (complex!) setup.DJ Equipment analogue stereo output > connects to HDMI Converter (converts signal to audio-only HDMI) HDMI Converter > connects to HDMI Switcher (one of those boxes that allows you to switch between inputs when you want to make the most of a small number of ports) TV > connects to HDMI Switc

Can I connect Sonos Arc direct to HDMI input from blue-ray player. If a Blue-ray player has 2 HDMI sockets can I plug one to TV and the other (audio output) to Sonos Arc? My TV doesn't have eARC so this would be the only way to get Atmos sound from my blue-rays. I know that this is not an ideal solution as I would need to swap the HDMI cables to the Arc depending whether I am using the TV or the blue ray as sound source for the Arc. If anyone knows of another solution, please let me know

Hello to everybody with more knowledge about linking things to Sonos systems than I have!I’ve recently acquired a vinyl turntable, the Pro-Ject RPM 1.3 Genie and I want to know how to get it to play over my Sonos system.I have an Arc and an old Play 1, and I’m likely to be picking up a Sonos Sub soonWhat would I need to get it up and running, either via Sonos kit (Amp/Connect) or third-party/Pro-Ject accessories, and what bit connects into what, i.e Turntable>Amp>Arc or something?Any help would be greatly appreciated!Thanks

Is it definitely possible to pair a Beam (Gen 2) with two Roams, and somehow use the equalizer to get only bass notes out of the Beam, if this makes sense. I've been told that it is not possible to use the Sonos subwoofer (or the possibly-upcoming mini-sub) with the Roams.All three speakers would be in my kitchen (not connected to any other Sonos system), and I first simply need to know that it would be technically feasible to pair a Beam with 2 Roams, and second if it would be possible to set up the Beam to primarily output low (bass) notes.I've looked through the Support questions, and I haven't seen an answer. Any knowledgeable, informed response would be appreciated. if there are any alternative solutions, I’d love to hear them as well. ty

Auto-correct got me. Somis = SonosPort connected to CD audio input using provided RCAs. Port linked in “Works with Sonos” setup. Switching from TV audio input to Sonos streaming works fine. Once Sonos is paused or stopped, is there a way to have the AVR revert to the previous audio input without manually selecting the TV’s audio input on the AVR?

Our wifi spectrum is very crowded. I’d love to be able to set our portable speakers to only use SonosNet, rather than wifi, when not in bluetooth mode. Hopefully this would be possible with a software update and wouldn’t require different internal hardware?

I have 2 routers.  One in my house, and one in my shop.  I have the router in my shop hard wired into my house.  I am having problems connecting my Sonos One to the router in my shop.  It wants to grab the weak Wi-Fi signal from my house.  How do I connect the One speaker to the Wi-Fi router in my shop?

I have a Samsung smart tv that has optical drive and hdmi earc and hdmi arc compatible to sonos arc.I was searching through google and youtube how to get the sonos arc to work on a mixer but i dont find any possible solution on how to get this set up before actually buying the mixer because it will be a waste of money if the set up doesn’t work on my sonos arc and smart tv. I was planning to buy this sound town mixer https://www.amazon.com/Sound-Town-Channels-Microphone-Microphones/dp/B086WY6Y34?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1 to connect on my sonos arc will this actually work if i connect the tv optical audio output to this mixer and then i connect the mixer optical drive to sonos arc via HDMI optical drive adapter. Does anyone tried this setup before? Can u please help me on any suggestions that might work on sonos arc to mixer to TV.

When my Sonos Arc’s Hdmi is plugged into my Samsung Hdmi (Arc) port 3 can u not select Dolby Digital+ any help appreciated

Hi Folks.I have a Sonos Beam gen2 and a Sonos ARC. I’m using Symfonisk Lamps as surround pairs with both of these setups. I’ve switched from RSTP to STP on all my switches in order to accommodate the Sonos gear, and wifi is disabled on all devices.The Beam2 setup is rock-solid, and I never have any problems. The Sonos ARC is a constant headache despite being similarly configured. Both are wired completely, due to living in an apartment in a city and having a terribly polluted RF environ. (I’ve tried using the products wirelessly, but they get out-of-sync constantly.)What I’ve noticed (after troubleshooting) is that sometimes the Sonos ARC will drop off of the network due to losing it’s IP address. Sometimes it’s due to a link state change caused by STP which is another can of worms I’d like to discuss if anyone has insight into running a completely wired setup and accommodating Sonos’ old deprecated STP defaults (I’m using Mikrotik as my “core” routing/switching gear and have Netgear “

Hello everybody,I write this post before contacting Sonos support. I purchased a Sonos Arc + Sonos Sub (3rd gen) in December 2021.After 3 months of use, I am not very happy with the Sub in particular. Because the bass is not heard! I've done all possible configurations, but the subwoofer is as if it's turned off.I try to explain better, the SUB is correctly turned on and configured, I can also change its settings from the Sonos app but the sound of bass is really non-existent.I have made a comparison with another sound system with a much lower price range (300 €) and it sounds much better and it’s impossibile!I need help because my subwoofer can't sound right. It seems as if the frequency used is not low but only very high.What can I do?Thank you a lot!

There are several Sonos products supporting digital cable input (via Tos or HDMI). The following article lists Sonos speakers capable for playback of 48/24. Playbase is not listed :( https://blog.sonos.com/en-us/hi-res-audio-guideAnyway, sorry for my question: I want to feed digital stereo 48/24 to Sonos, e.g. via HQPlayer, and group those with 48/24 capable Sonos speakers. Will this work out? Or is the digital input not capable of 48/24 AND sharing it to the other speakers? I assume the Tos Input from Playbase is not capable of doing so? Did someone try it already? Hi I have just setup a connect to my Samsung 550 soundbar via a fibre optic from my tv to a splitter and connect to the splitter then on to my soundbar. Works great only problem is the soundbar is capable of a lot more power than it’s getting from the connect. Is there anything I can do? Thanks 

Hi,I am looking for help. Would it be possible to connect two TV’s to a single Sonos AMP by using a Switch? If so, is anyone aware of an auto switching Switch that could do this? For context, I have an LG CX 48” for PC and above it I have an LG CX 65” for movies. I only use one of them at the time. I would love to find a solution where I could connect them both through the HDMI ARC port and not have to introduce extra steps when switching screens. Thanks for looking.

Currently, I have a Play 5 gen 1 that I use an Apple airport express to play my music because it’s an airplay router. Works great.I just purchased a new 5, and someone told me that I can “group” them together, and both will work.Not sure if that’s true, and it’s my first experience trying to do this.Any suggestions?Thanks

Hello, I am in the process of renovation of my apartment, For my living room area I would like to have 5.1 sound system. My plan is to add 2 inceiling sonance speakers above the sofa connected to sonos amp, the room is only 4m wide.1 sonos arc1 sonos sub The sonos amp would be in technical cabinet speakers connected with audio cables.From my understanding you have to connect the arc to the TV thru HDMI arc port and set the in-ceiling speakers as surround speakers and it should work? if I want to have also a video projector how will it work? would I have to unplug the HDMI to plug it to the projector? Also can I use all speakers when playing music from the sonos app directly?Thanks for your answers. For now i mostly want to choose my set up and know what cables/wires to route in the ceiling and walls to make sure everything works fine once i purchase the entire system.Mael

I have a Playbar, Sub and 2 Sonos Ones in my living room. I have a 3rd Sonos One in the kitchen which is connected to the living room essentially making it one large room. I currently have them grouped together but I want the kitchen One to be able to control the living room volume via the physical buttons and Alexa commands initiated from the kitchen to control the living room. Basically I'd like to just have all 3 Ones added to the living room but that doesn't seem possible. For a long time I just swapped the right side living room One and the kitchen One which accomplished the control issue but of course sacrificed on the sound. Is there a proper way to do this?

HiI have a Sonos Connect:Amp that I’d like to hook up to my Cyrus amp, which is connected to external non-Sonos speakers. I want to do this so I can connect everything (CD player, turntable and streaming) through the same thing (the Cyrus). Is this possible? How would I do it?Thanks!

Hi all I need some help…I can’t seem to find a clear step by step of how to do what I’m trying to do, which is connect our Beam (gen 2) so it functions in the easiest way possible with all (or as many as possible) of our devices. We have an LG OLED C1 (picture below for all ports), at minimum we’d like to connect our Apple TV 4K (2nd gen) and our PS5 to function with the Beam. If we could get the XBox on there too that would be great, the Nintendo switch doesn’t really need to be connected to the Beam but for the sake of this exercise if someone wanted to connect as much as possible, how would we do it? Willing to buy whatever connector necessary.  thanks in advance!
