Hello! I recently bought into the Sonos ecosystem, but I fear I may have misunderstood how the devices work.My wireless situation is a bit sketchy. Bluetooth, ZigBee, and WiFi all don't work very well in my bedroom. The problem has only gotten worse over time, to the point where Bluetooth audio is unusable in that one room. Wireless performance is problematic everywhere else too.Put simply; I want as little wireless anything as possible. There is a horrible amount of congestion where I live, and I barely get reliable performance out of the handful of ZigBee devices I own. I don't use any wireless protocols for anything, except my phone and the aforementioned IOT devices.I was sold on the Sonos Fives when my understanding was that they supported ethernet, and that I could use my phone to select which media to play, but the devices (even as a stero pair) themselves would fetch it over the wired network.I got two fives for the bedroom and was really happy with their performance, so yester

Hi I have the arc + 1sls +sub gen 3 I have hearing difficulties and have to use hearing aids,I find I need the speech enhancement on but I find it a little to much, I guess my hearing aids enhance the high frequencies a lot. Is it possible in future updates to make the speech enhancement adjustable with a slider instead of just on of off. ? 

Like many in the Sonos community, I struggled with the right recipe to get playlists from a former macOS iTunes app library that had been migrated to the Music app library on a macOS upgrade to Catalina to import and be recognized by Sonos players from a remote network-attached storage (NAS) volume, such as QNAP or Synology.After experimentation, I believe I have developed a script that handles both iTunes app (prior to Catalina) and Music app (Catalina and later) that successfully allows the Sonos players (or at least Play:5 (Gen 2)) to import and play tracks from media and playlists on NAS volumes exported by those macOS apps.It is available at:https://github.com/gerickson/nas-sonos-itunes-syncThis script can either be run manually, one-demand from the command line or automatically, on a schedule as a LaunchAgent (see included example in the project).I have also been apprised of an app on the App Store that will do something similar, but with a nice UI/UX:https://apps.apple.com/us/ap

I’m looking to move to a rear projection situation and I’d like to pick some brains before jumping in.  I currently use a Sonos Amp to power floor speakers and as an interface for a turntable. I’d ideally like to move these to the rear and use these floor speakers as the surround satellites which would bring the Amp close to the projector with a Sub and Arc up front. Does this situation make sense? Do I need to hardwire the Arc to the projector for full atmos and the rest of the surround drives from that or can the Amp push this out?

I have an old HiFi and I would like to find out if and how I could make use of and connect my old radio tuner (Technics ST-CH505) and speakers (Technics SB-CH515A) to a Sonos system. I'm trying to build a Karaoke system using the following components: Samsung Q70R TV - HDMI (IN), Optical (OUT), HDMI (ARC), Screen Mirroring Sonos Arc & surround setup - Sonos Arc is connected to the Samsung TV via HDMI ARC Yamaha MG06X mixer with RCA Audio Output (Red and white cables) - connected to two professional quality wired microphones Is there any way to get the Analog Audio (Red and White RCA cables) from the mixer into the Samsung Q70R or the Sonos Arc? The TV does not have any input other than HDMI, the traditional analog inputs are missing. This seems to be typical of the new Smart TVs. One option may be to use an Analog Audio (RCA) to HDMI converter. I do not know which one to use.Second problem to solve is how to get and mix the karaoke music and lyrics - these are usually available via an app on the phone or TVHelp much appreciated. Looks like I am not thinking in the right direction here.

S2 with almost 30 Sonos products. No Booms or Moves.Comcast Xfinity with supposedly 1 gig.Three floors, 5,000 sf. Router on center floor is connected to a Boost.Other two floors each have a Boost connected to Ethernet ports.No speakers are wired.The system struggles whenever a few speakers are assembled and more are attempted to be added.The Sonos message is that “WiFi signal is unstable”I will spend whatever might be required to fix this.Comcast suggests Netgear extenders or TP Link extenders.A prior responder suggested getting fixed IP addresses, but I am unsure how to do that.are there any good recommendations? Should I ask BestBuy to send a tech?Would the concept of the Netgear or TPLink extenders make sense with the system setup that I described?    

I want to be able to use a pair of Sonos One’s with a wifi capable Blu-Ray player without actual internet access.  The application is in a motorhome with TV/HDMI connections.   I don’t have internet setup/router in the RV. Would like to use my iPhone accessing my Apple Music library via cellular or occasionally wifi via an RV park and playing it over the Sonos.  Also playing DVD’s, BR discs, and music files (Flac, ALAC, etc) stored on a USB drive.There are wifi capable players, but can they set up a local network for my purposes?  

I would like to request a wizard type setup where one is promoted for which room the alarm is applicable and what the volume should. Or the default setting for these alarm properties should be configurable. as the default volume of 25% is way too loud, and having to modify each time I set a new alarm is stupid in my opinion.

Hi, Can someone provide some insight into what protocols are used over a wireless network when a Sub joins an Arc. I understand it builds a small network between the two, however it doesn't establish over my current wireless network. I most likely need to allow enable something in the wireless settings for this to work.Any guidance would be appreciated.Cheers.Update - Title autocorrected to arch for some reason…..

Sonos Purchase - ETA late Dec/early Jan - "5.1.2 Surround Set (2 x One) with ARC + Sub (Gen3)"Projector: Optoma GT1090HDR with HDMI Inputs - 1 x v2.0 4K, 1 x 1.4  Sound Output from Projector - L/R (Red/White) RCA jacks only - I would think I do not want to use these.Various devices for Source:-Sony 3D Blueray Player - BDP-S5200 - hdmi output with "orange" Digital Out Coaxial-Apple 4K TV - hdmi output only - Bluetooth for audio??-Roku Ultra - hdmi output only - not sure if options for other audio.-Dish Network Joey - hdmi output - L/R RCA Jacks and Optical-PC with RTX 2080ti - hdmi output - optical from Motherboard-PC with RTX 3080ti - hdmi output - sound card orange/black/green 3.5mm jacksI'm assuming, 99% sure, all of the sources above I can get my audio via hdmi.What kind of hub do I need, for the 6 different sources, to extract the audio from the hdmi signal, sending the video to the projector, and then sending the audio out (via optical?) to the ARC?  I know nothing about Bluetooth

Hello, I am completely new to the community and to Sonos. I have seen some reviews and plan to get the sonos beam 2. Before doing so I would like to check that I can have a proper setting to connect everything I want to connect to it.I am planning to use the Sonos Beam 2 in my living room which is relatively small. I would like to use it connected to a beamer which will be located on the opposite wall. My beamer is an optomo HD144X and does not have HMDI arc nor an optical output. I don’t think it has a sound output at all but I can be wrong. I would like to output the sound of both on the futur Sonos beam 2. My issue is that I can not connect the PS5 to the Sonos directly since the only HDMI present on the ps5 is connected to the beamer. I guess I will need a sort of switch to plug multiple HDMI to all those devices but I hav

Is it technically possible to create a virtual switch in the Sonos S2app to switch for the HDMI input in between music and movie?In my opinion, it's a bit annoying if I watch YouTube music videos on the TV, and they don't come in music stereo.

Symptoms: device powers up, but doesn’t show on either network and refuses to factory reset. LED remains white no matter what.I have cracked it open following this teardown https://www.reddit.com/r/sonos/comments/1zf9n9/sonos_playbar_teardown/ but nothing obvious stands out. The power supply is fine, based on everything I can see.I am aware of wifi card failure, but I assume when that fails the wired network will still work, and that factory reset should also be available.By the way, these things contain some serious mechanical engineering. Respect. And also they were a bargain in their day.Suggestions?

Can you connect airpods to sonos playbase or thru Sonos app?

Hi,I have an Apple TV that sends the audio signal through Airplay 2 to the Sonos Amp (connected to two speakers, right and left). Does this configuration enable to get a true stereo audio?Thanks for your help!JV

Hello,We are deploying Microsoft Defender for Endpoint to our users.Mobile devices are fully company managed devices, but we do allow users to install their own apps, as long as its installed from official app stores. We received some complains that users are not able to use their Sonos App after configuring defender for endpoint. Defender for Endpoint is a enterprise endpoint security product and it uses a “local” VPN solution to filter malicious or other unwanted traffic from device. The thing is, because it uses the VPN (event though its a local vpn and not a real vpn) the Sonos application does not allow you to scan for local sonos devices. Is there any documentation or other information available that we can verify  if this is a an issue that could be solved by Sonos or is it something that should be fixed by Microsoft?  

Hi all,Before buying the Sonos Beam Gen 2, I would like to know how to connect the Firestick to the soundbar and tv using only one arc hdmi port in the sonos beam. There is no hdmi in / out in the Sonos Beam. Thanks in adavance. David

Hi allI use a Synology NAS as my main music library through my MacBook, however, i back up all my music on my Sony NW-A55 mp3 player. If my NAS failed, how could i use the Sony as a music library until the NAS is replaced? Is it something simple that i just can't see and where would i point Sonos at to link the library? Thanks in advance for your advice

Hi I’ve been into Sonos for a very long time. I’m reasonably familiar with both the S1 and S2 apps. I’m currently running 2 Sub Gen2, 1 Sub Gen3, an Arc, a Beam Gen1, a Beam Gen2, a Playbar, 2 Play:1, 2 Play:5, 4 Play One SL, and 2 Play One. In an 1100 sqft apartment lol. I only seem to recognize my illness when I type it out. So again, I’m reasonably comfortable with the company’s products.So I’ve decided that I need to thin out the herd.My Arc is bonded with the Sub Gen3 and 2 of the Play Ones. Really really nice setup. I love the sound. I’m not messing around with this. I currently have my Beam Gen2 bonded with 1 Sub Gen2. I have them in my small studio (I’m a painter). I have them for movie / YouTube while working. “Maybe” a 12x12 room. It’s not an Arc, but it’s good. I haven’t decided about the 2 Play One SLs. It’s such a small room. I don’t want to hamper ATMOS.Finally, I prefer to listen to lossless music. Now the problem space. I have a something like 13x20 Lounge / Living Room

I recently bought and extra OneSL to stereo pair with my exisiting One.  I also have a Play:5 2nd generation.  I’ve put them all on the same bookshelf, with the Play 5 in the middle and the Ones off to both sides.  It sounds pretty awesome.  Question: Should I adjust the equalizer to increase bass output on the Play5 and increase treble on the ones?   Would this make much difference?  Would the Play 5 actually provide more bass by doing this? I’ve played around with it, and so far it seems dependent on the music as to which sounds better. 

I have two Sonos 1 that are connected to extenders.  Neither are hard wired nor can they be (router is in a closet).  So, they go out of synch.  I am told that I should purchase a mesh network and connect one of the Sonos One to the mesh.  Is that right? I am looking at Linkys and EERO.  Does anyone have any experience with this?  WIll one of these work?  I understand I need to shut off the verizon router and then override it with the mesh. Thanks in advance for your help.

I have 2 Fives set up as surrounds in our living room. Occasionally I would like to use one on our patio. I physically moved the speaker to the patio, removed surrounds from living room on Sonos app, set up patio as a separate location, But I can’t get just one speaker to connect?Help.Different topic, How do I remove a room from the Sonos app? I accidentally added Living room 3 and would like to remove it. Thank you.
