Advanced setups

I have 2 x  Sonos Subs (Gen 3) connected to my home theatre system in my Living Room - Arc + OneSL (L) + One SL(R)I have purchased 2 more OneSL for another room and want to separate one of the Subs from my existing system to pair with the new speakers.  How do I remove just 1 of the Subs as the tab in Settings just nominates ‘Remove Subs’

I bought a Beam for my parents' TV two years ago, because they were having trouble understanding dialog though their TV speakers. It has absolutely improved the situation. But they still wanted to get wireless headphones to improve their ability to hear some of the time. I bought them a 2-headset pair of Sennheiser HDR 120 headphones. What I did not verify ahead of time was that there was an analog audio out option on their TV. There is not. I looked into various splitters, but gave up after being overwhelmed by all the no-name options with poor descriptions of they could/could not do. Therefore the headphone boxes were never opened.I came to this forum today for something else, and saw someone mention an AmazonBasics HDMI audio extractor, which brought me back to my quest. When Sonos first notified me, a couple of years ago, that they would be bricking the Sonos Dock in a future update, I immediately took my entire Sonos system offline, and  re-connected it to a spare router that does not have internet access.   This has allowed me to continue using the following:Sonos Connect Amp Sonos Play 5 (2 stereo paired) Sonos Play 3 (2 stereo paired) Sonos Play 1 (2 stereo paired) Sonos Dock (I attached my internet connected Sonos app free iPhone - to access online streaming accounts )All of my other lossless music collection is accessible via the USB port of my spare router.I’m still using a Sonos 4.1 controller, and as long as I’ve remained isolated from a live internet connection (via the non-connected router), I’ve had no forced update issues.Does anyone who might be using a similar workaround know whether or not the S1 Sonos Controller for Windows still supports the Sonos dock?  Or was the ‘bricking’ update already built into that version of the controller?

Hey,So I've just moved my system off SonosNet onto WiFi on the basis that we've just installed a new Ubiquiti system so should be more robust?Anyway, our older Sonos (Play:3 stereo pair, and 2x single Play:1s) are having a hard time staying in sync with the wider system.Any insights to be had from this diagnostic report: 1909451360? Cheers!

Building a new house (layout below). and need to make some decisions.  75-85” TV will go in family room and I was planning on getting a Arc, sub and ceiling speakers will be placed behind sofa for surround sound.  I know I will need an Amp for this.  I also want to place kitchen ceiling speakers so when I am in the kitchen, I can play the tv sound without having it blast through the entire open floor plan.  These speakers will play music occasionally but won’t need to play audio from the tv most of the time.  I will also have speakers in the patio for music.  That will be a third amp I will need. This seems like a very expensive setup and I’m not an audiophile but with building a new house, I do want flexibility and don’t want to have regrets.  Here are my questions:  For Family Room, shall I consider the Arc or in wall front architectural  speakers? I assume I’ll need a separate Amp for the kitchen ceiling speakers since it’s will be a different zone?   How easy will it be to turn off

Hi there, I’m new to the platform and I don’t know if this question has been asked before. At the moment I'm using a SONOS PORT hooked to my Denon 3313 receiver. I use a coax cable for the connection. The maximum bitrate of the SONOS PORT is set at 16bit/44.1kHz. The Denon receiver, however, has a maximum bitrate of 24bit/192kHz. I would like to know if - by using the coax connection - I can bypass the SONOS PORT's internal DAC and use the Denon's DAC. I guess this is possible. However, will this also enable me to use the higher Denon bitrate of 24bit/192kHz, and thus bypass the SONOS bitate limitation of 16bit/44.1kHz . I'm looking forward to your input and many thanks in advance.

When you're house is setup as follow:- multiple rooms- per room a Sonos speaker- per room a Google Nest- and each Nest is connected to an accompanied Sonos speaker- per sleeping room, thus a person, a Spotify account  Both Google Nest and Sonos have a hard time dealing correctly with Spotify.  The Sonos app can only deal with only one Spotify account. But this will result into only playing one session at a time.  You can connect each Nest to a personal Spotify account, that's fine. But when the Nest is connecting to a Sonos speaker, Nest will complain that the Nest is connected to another account than the Sonos App. Preferred solutions:1. In the Sonos App, allow a speaker to connect to a "general" Spotify account and a personal Spotify account.  2. Allow the Nest to play as a session as "Started from Spotify"  3. Allow the Nest to play a session as "Started from Google Nest" Or (better yet) ... Did anyone succeed to manage a similar problem? If so, please help.  

Currently I run my music library through an external hard drive through my MAC.  My music library is much bigger than what Sonos allows so I am selective in what I import to Sonos.  THe music is imported through iTunes and then syncedto SONOS.  I have a Synology server that I have not been able to get to communicate with SONOS.  I am looking for a better way of managing the music that does not slow down my desk top.  I have read mixed reviews of the PLEX system.  Has anyone figured this out?

Would it be possible to add LPCM 7.1 support on the sonos beam as it was the case for the Arc recently? I have a lot of problems with voice/image synchronization on my ps5, I ordered an HD Fury Arcana hoping that this will solve the problem.... I find it absurd to have so many problems in 2021 with formats that should have been standardized a long time ago.

This is a very strange situationMy computer is connected to the same netgear switch as my SONOS play 1.I have another ethernet cable connected to this switch to my main router.Last week i noticed my laptop was dropping the network connection for a few seconds every 5-10 minutes.I diagnosed it today as my laptop connecting to the internet via my SONOS PLay 1.  To do this i disconnected the main network cable going to my router and the laptop still had an internet connection - all be it around 10% of my expected speed. When I discconected the LAN cable of the PLAY 1 it was fine. Anyone else experienced this?  

Hi All, I’ve just looked at my matrix and can see that the ‘Master Bedroom’ is a weak connection… however the matrix also shows that from the kitchen to the master bedroom the link (if it were chosen) is pretty good. So my question is why is Sonos deciding to link the master bedroom directly to ‘Bridge’ which is a wired device, rather than hopping through kitchen… i.eRather thanBridge → Master Bedroomwould it not be better to chooseBridge → Kitchen → Master Bedroom Any thoughts on the logic? After the most recent update, I have lost 4 one’s ( 2 are sl 2 reg latest version) Yes, I have been in contact with Sonos but the more that go down ( zero power ) the more I get scared to even plug anything in. I have probably 10K in Sonos devices. I have had an electrician even come out to make sure no surges and nothing wrong at the outlets. Within one month I lost 4. I have or had many products on this series of outlets but only the ones are affected. When you deal with support you get different ideas but I have tried everything to check and make sure all of my products are safe. Any ideas or any ways to fix the power issue? Yes, they are in process of replacing but its a pain in the a**2 arcs1 beam 4 fives4 subs gen 210 ones3 ampsmany in wall and in ceiling speakers + outdoor4 bookshelfs, 2 lamps, 2 picture frames so you can understand my fear from the list I have  Any advice is greatly appreciated 

 This is the set up recently put together but I’m having a hard time setting up the AMP as surrounds. The ARC & TV are outside on a porch. The amp is inside in a basement utility closet.  If I try to set up the amp as surrounds wirelessly, it doesn’t connect, which I would suspect would happen because it’s in a basement below the Arc and there’s an exterior wall between the two likely interfering the 5Ghz connection the Arc puts out. However, I ran a CAT6 cable between the Arc and Amp, but when I try to set up the surrounds with that plugged in, it’s still giving a network error.  Should the Amp be plugged into my wireless router instead? I’m stuck!

Humour me here, but is it possible to create a mixed wired/wireless network where the wireless devices are connected to regular wifi and SonosNet is disabled?Here is my scenario...I have a large 5x AP wifi network which provides great coverage throughout my house, but obviously I am using all 3 non-overlapping 2.4GHz wifi channels to provide this coverage.I have about 20 Sonos devices, all connected to the wifi, working fine.But I also have in excess of 100x IOT devices on the 2.4GHz wifi - low bandwidth, but can be quite chatty. I’d like to offload as much traffic off the 2.4GHz network as possible, so I’m thinking of wiring some of the Sonos devices. I have wired Ethernet in a bunch of places where I could easily wire to a Sonos device, but not all Sonos devices.I want to avoid the wired devices setting up SonosNet, as I don’t want to be creating interference on any 2.4GHz channel. Hi wonderful Sonos Family!Hope you are doing well.I am in need of your expert help in one of my Sonos Setup!I have three rooms listed below1- TV Room (Sonos Arc, 2 One SLs & Sub Gen3). Arc is connected to TV2- Living Room - Two Sonos Five3- Media Room - Sonos PortI have external Device (Clock play specific sound on different set)  connected to my Sonos Port (Media Room) as Line in to Sonos System. In Sonos App on my Media room which is Port device having Auto Play Setup. In Sonos App there is option which room you want to choose for Auto Play so I choose TV Room for Auto play and when Sonos Port detects any audio signal then it plays that music on my TV room automatically even though some media is played on TV because auto play take priority on that room. That is totally fine and I really want that but there is option in the Auto Play to Include Grouped Rooms so I choose that option so I can play to my all other rooms but its not working.I believe the issue is even though I have gr

So I am an outlier and know this.  I have 36 devices on my system and it keeps booting out or dropping the stereo pair on devices once I exceed the 32 speaker limit.  So I’ve resorted to putting the other 4 on a different account.   There are many issues to this though, Amazon can only link to one Sonos account at a time, I cannot seamlessly hop between systems easily because they use different email addresses for the other services like amazon that get tied into it, and more.   Researching has shown this is something that has been discussed for some 5 years, but I’d think at this point and in technology given all my stuff is under a year old, Arcs/5s/1s/Subs/Moves/Roams/and one beam, there is no reason a workaround shouldn’t have been developed.   I’m curious if Sonos is going to ever move forward or we keep citing the UPNP limitation of 32 devices…. I do use Airplay and have no issues with this.  But it ties in with Apple Music and Alex is a failure say the least.

HiAm I right in thinking that I can add a old Sonos5 series1" to my Sonos Arc & x2 Sonos1 surrounds Setup/Room & play my vinyls through the 5s but enable playback through my arc & 1sThink that make sense 😳!🤣!& will there be any issue with the 5 being Series1 & the appI'll control everything from the new Sonos App so I can't see any As far as I can understand I'll just be using the 5 as a vinyl bridge into my Sonos Setup 😉!🤔!......

I’m using a 100watt/channel Rotel amp to power B&W ceiling speakers.  Occasionally the music cuts out at low volumes and randomly comes back on.  I’ve checked all of connections on the professionally installed rack and consulted with Rotel yet nothing seems to work.

Allright… looking to upgrade my system at home and was wondering if this setup would work.I am looking to get the Anthem MRX 740 receiver. I read this on it’s specs: “Channel reasignment: MRX Series Receiver channels can be assigned in many ways. Unused amplifier channels can be re-assigned to Bi-Amplify demanding front speakers, power surrounds, presence speakers, or a second zone” Would it then be possible to set up this receiver with a Sonos port and then three zones:primary zone set up with 5+1 speakerssecondary zone with one of the left-over outputs reassigned to a single stereo speaker in the bathroomthird zone with the last output reassigned to a single stereo speaker in the office Would I be able to control output for the different zones from the sonos app? My guess is that it’s a no but figured I would ask if there’s any chance of getting it to work. This way I would avoid getting a sonos amp as well. Can I pair Playbar with Sonos One or Sonos One SL?

Hello,I’m having a weird issues with my Sonos setup.Let me first give some information about my setup.I have a dozen Sonos devices (Play:1, One, One SL and Roam). All these devices are connected through WiFi to my Wireless network (UDM-Pro with UAP’s). So I do not use SonosNet, nor wired Sonos devices.I have a separate IoT subnet for my Sonos devices, and my controllers are on another subnet. My UAP SSID’s are also split up into different WiFi networks.Although my Sonos devices are on another network, for now I have allowed them through the firewall with restrictions only based on their static IP (no port restrictions). I have also enabled mDNS, IGMP snooping, Multicast enhancement.My controllers are installed on 4 devices: Windows PC, Surface Pro 2017, Samsung Android phone, Huawei Android phone.Below is a per controller device issue description:1. Windows PC (Wired) - No issue, connects and works, sometimes with limited delay.2. Surface Pro 2017 (Wired) - No issue, connects and works

Additionally their developer site has gotten woefully behind what the APIs actually support. So my questions for Sonos here are:Is stackoverflow still the official way to get support for their APIs? Do they plan on updating developer.sonos.com with the newer APIs that are missing? Do these APIs even have a future? We know that Sonos are going to lock down the developer site soon, but then what? Developers need APIs, and those APIs need support from their owners.

Hi Sonos Community.  I have Sonos set up in every room except my main room, which is pretty large and has 10 built in wall and ceiling speakers.  In that room I use a receiver with a center channel speaker.  But, I’ve noticed I really don’t seem to get much out of any of the speakers other than the center and rears.  I’d love to my whole house on the same app and controls.  So, even though the Arc can only do 3-2-1, I’m trying to figure out whether I really lose any audio quality by getting an arc, and pairing it with a bunch of Amps for my speakers, and dumping the receiver and center channel.  Any advice/thoughts from those out there who really understand audio and acoustics?
