Advanced setups

Hi guys,sorry if this question has been asked before but I am wanting to playing my vinyl through my existing set up (multiple One’s, Move and a Beam) but I have a DJ setup i.e. I’m using a mixer. I understand that there is a delay so the port/amp is not great for DJing but is there a way of when I’m playing to use my powered speakers (not necessarily linked to the other speakers) and then when I want to just play a record to send it to the multi rooms? Would the port be my best option? As I have powered speakers.thanks in advance for your help and hope this makes sense!! 

I'm fully aware the sonos beam is not designed for production use but I really like the sound from it and want to use it as my reference monitor for music production. Although, I can't get over the fact there is a slight delay when playing real-time instruments through it. Like a drum pad or other virtual instruments. I think this is due to the input being hdmi. I think there's some kind of processing going on there that introduces a bit of delay. I think it's ~35ms. That's a lot for my purposes. I was thinking there has to be a way to hack the beam and diy another type of stereo input. Maybe I'm asking for too much from this and I should just get some 'real' speakers?

In this case my installation of a new home theater does not give me the space for a sound bar. I acquired a Sony xr55a80j which is an oles Bravia TV with an acoustic screen. I would like to use the television acoustic screen as the front channel and a pair of Sonos ones and a sub as my career channel. The same Sonos ones and subwoofer are all used also used for Alexa controlled comtent: music etc, when not watching the TV. Has anybody tried this? Do you have any guidance on how to connect rears and sub?

I have a connect amp that is connected to a record player on my main floor. On my 2nd floor, I have a porch with 2 Sonance 62 outdoor speakers. I want to connect these speakers to my Sonos system, but am not sure how I can do so without buying another connect amp, or running wires, which i would rather not do. Here is my idea. Could I connect a rocket fish wireless rear speaker kit to my speakers. I believe the rocket fish should have enough power for the speakers but not sure how to actually tell. I don't care about any delays as it's just for music.  Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I have a sonos port that runs my outdoor non spa os speakers as well as a sonos play in the family room and a 2nd sonos play in the living room.I am unable to put the Sonos play from the living room in a group with the pool and family room speakers because the living roomsonos automatically connects to the wife extender.I get a message that says devices on wifi extenders cannot be grouped. if I move the same speaker that doesn’t connect the the family room it catches a closer connection and plays with no issue.this problem just started happened.  Before all played well together. So question is: can I program the so is play so it never goes after tue wife extender connection?  Is there any solution here? 

Hi,I have purchased a Sonos Amp along with 2 x in-ceiling speakers from the sonos (sonance) architectural range. As the Sonos Amp can play 3 architectural devices at the same time, i was considering buying the outdoor Sonos (sonance) architectural speakers to also link to the Amp.Question is, can i buy a speaker switch that will allow me to turn off the outdoor speakers when we are just indoors, turn them all on, and then just the outdoor speakers for outdoor use?Ive read that this audioflow 3 zone speaker could do the trick but just wondered if anyone else had done the same set up? Hi there, was wondering if someone could help me. So I have recently bought a Sonos Arc & 2 SL rear speakers and I have been really happy with the surround sound on the built in apps with my TV (I have a 2021 Samsung QN95A), it has been working perfectly. My PS5 however, is a completely different story. I feel like I have been playing around with the settings now for over a week and I still have had no success.Initially, I have read that PCM is better quality compared to Dolby/DTS within the PS5’s settings so I started with that. When I switch the output device to AV Amplifier and then ‘number of channels’ to 5.1, Sonos was not identifying the 5.1 channel still only picking up Stereo in the app. So I went into the TV’s settings, where the format was set to ‘Auto’, I switched it to PCM and it was the same. I switched it to ‘Pass-through’ and it flashed up 5.1 on the app however the sound cut out and then it went incredibly deep. Everything that was coming out of the speakers was muc

Hi ,  im hoping someone can help with this . About 5 years ago I brought my first Sonos speakers in my home and as you do keep adding to the list of new products.  I recently set up a Sonos system in my garage which is about 100 yards from my back door and even further away from my router. I ran the cable around the side of the house and put a new box in the garage and connected to a new router. I set up the 5 and 2 x 1’s in the garage and use the app on my phone. I had to start up a new account to register these products. When I enter the house the router changes and loses all of the products in my home as I have been using a different router in the garage and reverts to the account in the garage and won’t let me sign in under the old account. is there a way I can link both speakers in garage and house to the same account to resolve this problem or some kind of booster that will link both sets of speakers given the distance between the house and garage.  thanks 

Can i connect a sonos turntable to my surround system (beam and play:1's) or do i need something else??

I currently have a 5.1 surround set up using a gen 1 sub, beam, and 2 One SLs. My sub randomly stopped working the other day and upon trying to reconnect/reset/repair everything, it will not play any audio. Prior to it stop working it was making a random periodic popping sound. This is when I tried resetting it and reconnecting. At first it wouldn't connect, now it'll show it connects fine but will not play any audio when linked to my 5.1 or my other Sonos one in the kitchen. Is the sub just toast now? I've also tried using WiFi and Ethernet, no luck with either.  Here's the diagnostic code: 1200403642

has anyone been able to get boom 3d to work with the sonosor know of a 3rd party AP to connect to the sonos so that u can utilize a full EQ board

Any word on a software update, allowing the Move to stereo pair with another in Bluetooth mode?  It has been a year and a half since the Move came onto the market.  It’s absurd that Sonos didn’t take care of this major issue in the initial release, but it should definitely be a high priority to address it with a downloadable software update.   A friend just bought me a fully waterproof Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 2, which retails for around $100.  You can stereo pair via Bluetooth 2 of these little guys together, but the $400 Sonos Move can’t be? The technology is out there.  C’mon, Sonos… please make this happen!   The Move is designed to take on the go, that’s the point, all features should be available while… on the go!  

Hi all, hope someone can help here.  I have an Arc and two Ones that I have set up as a TV surround system. To prevent unwanted roaming on my network, I set up a unique SSID broadcast from a single access point, and connected these 3 devices to it, and all’s well. Let’s call this SSID “AUDIO”.  I also have two Moves. I don’t want these connected to the AUDIO, I want these to just connect to my standard housewide SSID, let’s call it GENERAL.  Problem is: when I add GENERAL as a trusted network for the Moves, the Arc starts using it.  Is there any way to force my Arc to AUDIO and my Move to GENERAL and have them see & connect only to their assigned SSID? By the way, AUDIO and GENERAL are just SSIDs. They both connect back to the same network and subnet, so I have no control problems. I’m just trying to manage which device connects to which access point. 

Hello,I am trying to understand if something is possible before buying the equipment. I am trying to set my parents house up with Sonos across the house and an outbuilding. House is working great, obviously very easy and pleased how it’s all working.Now for the outbuilding I was thinking of running an Ethernet from the house Virgin router to an access point (AP) in the garden building. Something like an Archer C6 AC1200, for context this is about 35m away.  Reading online this should ‘extend’ my wifi to the garden building. I had previously considered a PowerLine Adapter, but I suspect this will have issues because the outbuilding is on its own Consumer Unit... I am assuming that if the AP has the same ssid and password, setting up a new Sonos or two would be simple enough, and I’ll be able to see and control them all together? (Bit of an amateur when it comes to home networks)

I have a system that consists of an ARC + Sub + AMP surrounds.In order to reduce the amount of competition/traffic on my WiFi I am looking to move these devices over to Ethernet.  The first device with the necessary wiring is the AMP.  Once I Disable WiFi, the music will not play thru them.  They show up as part of the system.  Under “About My System” I can see that it is getting an IP Address.  It is part of the default VLAN and I can ping it from other devices on the same network.If I re-enable WiFi, they work fine as Surrounds.

I have scoured the forums and havent see an exact answer to this. I even called Sonos support and they couldnt even find my products under my email and account! Bizarre.I have S1 setup now as follows on Sonosnet channel 6;- Connect Gen 2 ethernet connected - Connect Gen 1 (not s2 compatible)- Play 5 gen  1 (not s2 compatible)- Beam, Sub gen 2 with 2 One surrounds - One Gen 1- Connect Amp gen 2 So i bought a One SL and want to set this up on same home network, but on S2 app by itself, and i assume with a direct Wifi connection to Router.I dont want it to affect anything to so with exisitng S1 setup above and dont want to upgrade any products yet.From ive read, should I;- turn off the Connect that is ethernet hard wired. Will this disable all the others?- Run separate S2 app and Setup the new One SL Will this then now not affect exisiting setup?Thank you Scott        

Here’s my situation: I bought a house with three levels. On level two is the modem/router. On level one is the game room where the big TV sits, along with speaker wire that runs to speakers hard-wired on level two (the upper level). I have a well-functioning mesh network throughout the house.I had an installer come out and tell me I needed three sonos connect AMPS to run the speakers on the upper level. He also said he had to move my modem/router down to level one (the basement) to plug the amps into the modem/router. He said there was a lot of work involved with moving the modem/router downstairs and is wanting to charge me a lot in labor just to do that. He says the amps need to be plugged into the modem/router to work well - they won’t work well in a mesh network. Is that true?Question, is there a way to keep the modem/router on level two, without having to move it? 

I was wondering, is there a way to get a push notification of currently playing track to my raspberry pi device in my local lan?

Yesterday I registered for the developer portal (integration.sonos.com) and successfully logged in, developed my first PoC. but today the login doesn’t work.When I try to log in, it’s telling me password or username error.When I try to reset the password, the password reset page redirects me to the “SONOS - Looks like something went wrong!” page.Also when I try to register for a new account with different mail address, at the end of the registration page it’s showing me the error page, and no account activation mail is sent.I reported it already to the 24/7 support agent, but seems I am the first reporting the issue today - even if it occured already an hour ago and is still ongoing. Do others experience same issue, or does the login or account registration or password reset on developer.sonos.com / integration.sonos.com work for you?

I have a sonos surround setup with a beam and 2 play ones in living room. Is it possible to play music only on one speaker within the group? Let’s say I want to play only on the left side play 1. Is that possible? I use the android app.

Newbie here.  I’m building out a covered porch right now with the “dream setup”. Outdoor fireplace with TV & ARC above it, and am planning on using AMP + Ceiling Speakers as rears for that system.  Everything is getting framed and built out right now, and I’m trying to figure out what wiring I need run.  Below is a rudimentary diagram of my plan.. but here’s the crutch of my question:  ARC will be hooked into TV’s eARC HDMI port.  I’m hoping that ARC can wirelessly bond to an AMP so that those are a single Sonos Room together (and the AMP ceiling speakers set as rears), but my concern is my planned location for the AMP is in a utility closet that is about 25 ft away from this porch (through walls), AND that’s through an exterior brick wall. Unfortunately the AMP is backordered until late August and construction will be wrapped up by then, so I can’t test all this while all the framing is still exposed. Should I run Cat5 (or another cable?) from the TV / ARC location to the utility

Hi, My new ARC when i plug it into the power and wired network, the S2 app says it needs a update. The update does not happen because its in WiFi mode and it storms the network. All other SONOS devices on  network are wired.Is there anyway to set it up as wired before it tries to update ?  

Does anyone have experience of using the Move as just a speaker for skype or teams calls. I'm using my laptop, but the speakers are terrible and want better sound. I've seen several posts complaining about not being able to use the microphone but that's not an issue if its only used as a speaker. Is it possible? Is there hideous lag? Am I barking up the wrong tree? Not going to buy a cheap Bluetooth speaker if the Move does the job as it would be a great addition to my sonos setup, but equally not going to buy a Move if it won't work for call audio and I still need to buy another speaker. Thoughts from anyone who has tried it would be appreciated. 

So I’ve done searching through here and find some similar but slightly different questions, so here goes… in house 1 I have an S1 system with a bunch of play 5’s, connects, one, play bar.  now in house 2 I want to set up an S2 system with several new Sonos amps.  also I use the same WiFi ssid and password for the networks in both houses so how do I set up the new S2 system and are there any complications with the existing S1 system? TIA

I’m an authorized Sonos dealer.  Installed a system 6 months ago in a cabin 100 miles from my office, configured system with S2 on my Android tablet, system working fine when I last left it.  Customer does not use cabin during winter.I wanted to know how to completely delete the current Android configuration created with my company credentials and start with a clean install on customer’s iPad.  Sonos agent wasn’t sure how deleting configuration would affect Sonos upgrades or any other effects.As another option, I had questions on transferring the system to customers account that’s to be created next week on their iPad.  Needed to know if a 1 - Boost, 3 - Amp configuration created on a current Android tablet to an iPad will transfer without a complications.  I’d prefer to delete and start from scratch but need a possible back up.Complete frustration with call - escalated and told best they could do is email transfer instructions (Android to Android?) just before call dropped.
