Voice control and smart home

Hello, Recently (in the last 2 months) the Sonos speakers throughout the house chime out of the blue with “Sorry, there was a glitch. Please try again later!”. This happens even when the speakers are not in use … like in the middle of the night! It seems the frequency of this is increasing. I experienced this issue on both Sonos Play:1 soundbar as well as Sonos S2 speakers. I searched online and noticed lots of people experience this, but there’s no conclusion. I tried removing music services, ensuring everything is up to date, even rebooting the speakers … nothing seems to help!  Please help! The chimes in the middle of the night are very disturbing.

Hey there, I don’t like to use services like Alexa or google because they exploiting my data. That’s why I would like to use Sonos voice control but it doesn’t work for me yet.I just replaced my Playbar with the arc and activated sonos voice control. Unfortunately no matter what I ask - except the time, it can’t do it. When I ask to just play music I get „Having issues connection to your music provider, please try again later“…  When just use the app all works fine. I also set Apple Music as standard but Sonos can’t handle it. Any ideas?Thanks!

I see that a lot of people here and on other forums have problems with activating Google Assistant on Sonos. When I first setup my system there was no problem adding it to Sonos Roam. But after some problems where I had to reset my system Google Assistant couldn’t find Sonos Roam again when I tried to add it.This is how I managed to add it back again.Open Google Home on your phone (I run iOS, might be different on an Android). Click Settings. Scroll down to the bottom and click Works with Google. Click Sonos, and unlink. Go to the Sonos app and add Google Assistant as a voice assistant.Hopefully everything works for you now.   

Hello,I juste added two sonos one (1xOne and 1xOne SL) as surround speakers to my sonos beam (1st gen).I deactivated the mic on the beam. The One is near the kitchen so I usually use it as a timer or else.When I say Alexa… is ducks the volume on my beam, and so on the TV, which is really annoying for the one using them.Is there any way to prevent it ?

Hi,I’ve tried Sonos voice new in France.Configuration is ok, basic commands work very well on all my Sonos  But when I try a command like « play Dire Straits in kitchen », all my Sonos answers something like this in french « sorry, Sonos can’t connect to your music service » Same thing for Apple Music, Sonos Radio, and Amazon Music.Any idea to resolve the problem ?

I gifted a One to my parents and my dad called to say he can’t successfully add Alexa to his new speaker that he added to his existing sonos system.  I thought “this guy can’t do anything on his own.”  So, I get him on facetime and remove voice assistant from one of my speakers so I can walk him through the process.  I open up my app, click settings, click system, click on Sonos Move (the speaker I chose as the demonstration piece), click Add a Voice Assistant, choose Amazon Alexa, choose Add Amazon Alexa, Choose add Amazon Alexa, click sign in to Amazon, choose get started, choose allow, get a blank screen with a done option in the top left hand corner, it takes me back to the sonos app/system/sonos move AND I am right back where I started.  No Amazon Alexa added.  I have done this 15 times with two different mobile devices and am getting the same outcome.  WTF????  My dad isn’t helpless.  Or, we both are.  Help me!!!!

I’ve set up my Blink doorbell through Alexa and have announcements on but I’m not hearing a chime when the doorbell rings. Any suggestions? 

I have had one heck of a time trying to get a family Sonos setup working. There are five people in my house, and my goal is to have each person’s Spotify account tied to their voice using Google’s Voice Match.This works well with the Google Home Mini devices in my Google Household. I have also (after many, many times trying to reconnect) been able to get two voices linked to my new Sonos system. However, when adding the third person I get the following error:Can’t add devicesAsk the person who set up these devices to add you to this home in the Google Home app. Check that you’re linking a consumer Google account and not a Google Workspace account. I can confirm that this person is added to the home in the Google Home app, and I can confirm that this is a consumer account. The only other instance of this error message I can find on the entire internet is this thread on the Sonos forum which leads me to believe this is a Sonos issue.Please, please help. I just added Google Assistant to my Sonos and try to play SirusXM through it.  The speaker says SiriusXM isn’t supported on this device.I can play SiriusXM on my Sonos through the Sonos app, but it refuses to play when I say “Hey Google play channel 23 from SiriusXM”…. it’ll say “Alright, playing Grateful Dead from SiriusXM… Sorry, it looks like SiriusXM isn’t currently supported on the music room”Some Google searching has yielded links to this Sonos Community forums where there is a staff member named “James L.” says the followingSiriusXM is not available via Google Assistant on Sonos as a supported service at this time. I don’t believe there would be a sufficient workaround to avoid this limitation.I can certainly pass on the comments that you’d like to see this service be a part of Google Assistant to our teams for consideration. It would be great if this information was published so I wouldn’t waste time trying to get something to work which is not supported.  A matrix would be goo

I used to control my Sonos system in the UK with Alexa. Now I have moved to Spain, I tried to enable the Sonos Alexa skill but it tells me it is not available in my region.  Most posts I am reading here at over 4year old - is it still not available? How weird, Wi-Fi in Spain is the same as in the UK. Any solution? 

Trying to play tunein, it says tunein live isn't available! I don't have tunein live and just want to play talksport. I can play it from sonos app but not through alexa! Please help 

the bcc has announced that it will only be available to listen to on its app can some one tell me weather Sonos will support this when it happens which I believe is very soon 

My Amazon Echo Show and Dot both are able to play music on my Sonos One. But when I attempt to join them together, the Alexa app says the Sonos is not compatible. Surely by now this should have been sorted.Any help appreciated.Asking in hope.

I have several Sonos devices across my apartment (Play1s,Play5s, Connect:Amp, ZP100) and also several google devices (Pixel Phone, 2 Alarms, Google Hub)All Google devices work properly in  playing spotify or streaming radio on any Sonos Device.EXCEPT my GoogleHub where I love to have my radio streamed with my first coffee and its driving my crazy. Early in the morning I do not want to fumble around my phone for the app but use the convenience of voice commands.That's where I get the "This”mode is not available on <Sonos Device Name>” while the GoogleHub shows me the Sonos controls on the screen (which does work btw).Already checked country settings, spotify accounts (it's also TuneIn btw), re-connected all services.Any ideas ?

Has anyone had any luck with this?  Everything works as it should except the alexa functionality.

When I say “hey google” on my Sonos Arc, it is not aware of the timers I set on other Google Home/Home Mini devices (even though the Google devices themselves are aware of timers you set on others).  There isn’t an issue with linking accounts. I am surprised.  I also noticed commands like “hey Google turn off the TV” which normally works on a Google Home Mini responds with an error on Sonos (oddly enough I can do most other things via Sonos Google Assistant like turning lights on/off).

I purchased the Sonos One SL two years ago for my sister who has since passed away.  I’m going gift it to my neighbors and need to find some documentation to point them to.  I’ve checked the online manual for the One SL and it makes no mention of the built-in Alexa feature.  Is there another version of the document that I’m missing?  TIA

My sonos roam can connect to the em internet and app fine. It also can respond via Alexa or Sonos voice, changing volume etc. However it does not start streaming anything. The only way to start music or play the news is manually via the app.It used to work before I set up a new mesh wifi router.please can someone help

I have an Echo+ in my Kitchen and a Beam in my front room. Anytime I asked the Echo+ to play music it defaults to playing on my Beam. It used to be intermittent but happens every time now. It's the same for both Radio & Spotify 

I’m using Sonos Voice Assistant with Amazon Music. A few days ago, it suddenly stopped working. Almost any content I request gets denied. For instance, I say “Hey Sonos, play Michael Jackson”. Unfortunately, the answer is (almost?) always “Sorry, your Amazon Music subscription does not allow you to play this content.”. I don’t have Amazon Music Unlimited, but Prime Music. It used to work just fine. Furthermore, it does still work if I choose the same content via the Sonos app or the Amazon Music app. Thus, I guess this is an issue with the Sonos Voice Assistant. Maybe it got something to do with the latest changes for Amazon Music, which increased the number of available songs from 2M to 100M I think? I already removed the Amazon Music service from the Sonos app and re-added it. Didn’t change anything.

Hi all!My Sonos One arrived yesterday, haven’t unpacked it yet. I live in Croatia, Europe and google assistant is not supported on Sonos. I will change my Sonos profile to USA or UK. Will it work? Yes or No? Also, I get that google and alexa is not supported everywhere but why does Sonos voice control not work around the globe? It should not be region restricted.Neven

I know there are tons of topics and megathreads explaining how to control your Sonos system using an Amazon speaker/Alexa however they all seem fragmented with different procedures and troubleshooting steps and are daunting to try and get through. I wanted to detail out the method that finally worked for me (and that Sonos Tier 1 tech support never reviewed with me).I am a custom integrator and at some point I found out that some of my customer’s Sonos systems no longer worked in conjunction with an Amazon speaker that had previously worked just fine. For example saying “Alexa, play some holiday music” to an Echo Dot with holiday music following in the associated Sonos zone...this stopped working at some point.
