Voice control and smart home

Hi - I currently own 3 Sonos Ones, all located in different rooms of my house. Alexa worked perfectly fine on each of these after the initial set up. I was quite impressed as it could even hear the wake word when music was playing quite loudly. However, after a week or so of use, Alexa's sensitivity to the wake word while music is playing diminishes dramatically (on all 3 speakers at different times) - this gets to the point where I have to stand right next to the speaker and literally shout into the microphones to get it to hear me, even with only quiet music playing. I have found that this problem can be fixed when it occurs by turning the microphones on each speaker off and on again via the button on top of the unit. However, about a week later the problem will return. Again I will fix it by turning the mic off and on, but again it will return. Has anyone else experienced similar? Is Sonos aware of this issue and is there an update planned to fix it? It is getting extremely

Hi, why does my Sonos drop it’s volume in one room when somebody is using an echo dot in another room. The units are not even connected together as I run them separately.

I have 3 rooms with sonos one's. My office, and two kids rooms. We all have our own spotify accounts. I want each of us to be able to use alexa to play music from our own spotify account. I have created multiple amazon accounts so each sonos one is associated with its own alexa and spotify account. But now when i play music from my office, its using my daughters spotify account. In settings my sonos is clearly linked to my own alexa account, and my daughters hers. Is this setup possible?

It's a good thing I set my alarms on my mobile phone as well because my Sonos One didn't fire off the alarm at all. I also can't issue Alexa commands to it anymore which is ridiculous. I disabled the Sonos Skill on the Alexa App. Re-enabled it. Searched for Devices and sadly it can't be detected anymore (I labelled it "bedroom" before). I'm currently at work but I would really appreciate it if someone can try and help me out with this so I can sort it out as soon as I get home. Thank you.

I recently brought a Sonos One with Alexa built in. It now appears that all BBC radio channels are unavailable on Tune In Radio? Any ideas? It was working fine. As we are on the subject of Tune In, if i listen to privately funded stations the adverts are in Spanish! Thoughts?? Simply answer please as i'm not really a tech geek. Thanks in advance 😃

I am unable to get my Sonos One to both shuffle and loop an Amazon Music playlist using Alexa. The following steps are taken: 1. "Alexa... Shuffle Arnold music" (Arnold is my dog) 2. Sonos One starts shuffled version of the playlist, stating it is playing on the Sonos. 3. "Alexa... Loop Mode" 4. Sonos One acknowledges Loop Mode is turned on. After that, the playlist does not loop. Is this a bug?

I have been using my Sonos One regularly for many months. The devices have stopped waking to the Alexa wake up work a few days ago. I have restarted the devices, updated the controller, disable/enabled Alexa skill and rediscovered devices. The device is showing correctly in all apps (Sonos + Alexa) and can be controlled fine through the app. There just isn't any voice recognition. Ideas?

I have three Alexa devices. An original Echo, Dot Gen2, and a Sonos One. I haven't had issues before, but since this morning when I ask to play my Spotify playlists, the echo automatically shuffles my playlists. Before, it would just play my music in order, but now it just shuffles every time. Even if I turn shuffle off either by voice or with the app, and say "Alexa, play My Rotation playlist" it still responds by shuffling the music. I tried on all three devices and same result. I even unlinked my Spotify account and re-linked it but that didn't change anything except now Alexa won't recognize my playlists at all. I think it just needs time to resync.

I have just purchased a Sonos. My primary reason for buying it was so that I could play music through voice recognition ie Alexa. Every time I ask Alexa to play something she tells me it’s not in my music library or that it’s available on Amazon Music Unlimited and would I like more information. I have enabled Sonos on skills in the Alexa app, I have set Amazon Music as my default, I am an unlimited customer. What am I doing wrong???

Hi, Has anyone managed to get Alexa to play 181.FM channels. Alexa kept telling me she did not know the channel. So I manually selected it via the app. Whilst it was playing, I asked Alexa what was playing. I then asked Alexa to play the channel repeating what Alexa had said, but it still did not work. Any suggestions?

Curious if there is a side by side list / comparison of features on an Echo vs. Sonos One. Even with flash briefings coming and spotify enabled today, seems like a lot is missing.

I have read myriad comments about the Alexa/SONOS relationship and there seems to me to be myriad conflicts in information. As I understand it so far, there is no way to have Alexa play SONOS playlists in the same fashion as a playlist on say, Pandora, without first selecting the SONOS playlist in the SONOS app. OK, I am not happy with that because it involves many steps. But, accept it for now. I have a large investment in time and money in my own music and would like to use the playlists I have designed instead of those someone else I don't even know. I don't wish to spend the same amount of time developing lists in Pandora. The main question that has not been answered is: What is being done, if anything, to get Alexa and SONOS to talk to each other so that I can simply ask Alexa to my SONOS playlists?

All my music is stored on my computer, I don't use streaming services. The Sonos app is able to access my music and playlists, but using Alexa, all I can find are commands to access streaming services. How do I use Alexa to tell Sonos to access the music on my computer?

Hi Folks Happy New Year to everyone! Just bought my 3rd Sonos this week (Sonos One). Alexa is only playing one song on a playlist then stopping which is driving me insane. Has anyone got a solution to this very annoying problem please? Looking at the forum it seems like a very common problem that keeps lingering on which is very disappointing considering the reputation of 2 huge companies Amazon & Sonos. Any help or advice from anyone would be much appreciated? Thanks

What is going on that Sonos connect is not possible with Alexa in Canada ? I’m reading posts that indicate only available in the USA and certain other regions. What are my options to connect Alex and Sonos?

I set up my Vizio P-65 to work with the Vizio Smartcast Alexa skill this week. For some reason, when using the Sonos One, it works fine except it cannot turn the TV on. When I use my Amazon Echo, it can turn the TV on. Is the Sonos One not capable of turning on connected devices with voice commands on Alexa?

Simple question, seeing as Spotify support came early, is there any progress being made on the whole ducking scenario for multi-room Sonos systems? It's driving me mad and ruins the whole experience.

Until yesterday I listened to BBC radio through an Echo Dot hard wired in to a v1 Sonos 5 speaker; the radio would start playing almost immediately after I had asked Alexa to play a station. I now have a pair of Sonos ONE speakers and it takes several seconds to start playing the same radio station after I have sent the command. Have others experienced this, and if so have they found an workaround? TIA, relb
