Curious if there is a side by side list / comparison of features on an Echo vs. Sonos One. Even with flash briefings coming and spotify enabled today, seems like a lot is missing.

I have read myriad comments about the Alexa/SONOS relationship and there seems to me to be myriad conflicts in information. As I understand it so far, there is no way to have Alexa play SONOS playlists in the same fashion as a playlist on say, Pandora, without first selecting the SONOS playlist in the SONOS app. OK, I am not happy with that because it involves many steps. But, accept it for now. I have a large investment in time and money in my own music and would like to use the playlists I have designed instead of those someone else I don't even know. I don't wish to spend the same amount of time developing lists in Pandora. The main question that has not been answered is: What is being done, if anything, to get Alexa and SONOS to talk to each other so that I can simply ask Alexa to my SONOS playlists?

All my music is stored on my computer, I don't use streaming services. The Sonos app is able to access my music and playlists, but using Alexa, all I can find are commands to access streaming services. How do I use Alexa to tell Sonos to access the music on my computer?

Hi Folks Happy New Year to everyone! Just bought my 3rd Sonos this week (Sonos One). Alexa is only playing one song on a playlist then stopping which is driving me insane. Has anyone got a solution to this very annoying problem please? Looking at the forum it seems like a very common problem that keeps lingering on which is very disappointing considering the reputation of 2 huge companies Amazon & Sonos. Any help or advice from anyone would be much appreciated? Thanks

What is going on that Sonos connect is not possible with Alexa in Canada ? I’m reading posts that indicate only available in the USA and certain other regions. What are my options to connect Alex and Sonos?

I set up my Vizio P-65 to work with the Vizio Smartcast Alexa skill this week. For some reason, when using the Sonos One, it works fine except it cannot turn the TV on. When I use my Amazon Echo, it can turn the TV on. Is the Sonos One not capable of turning on connected devices with voice commands on Alexa?

Simple question, seeing as Spotify support came early, is there any progress being made on the whole ducking scenario for multi-room Sonos systems? It's driving me mad and ruins the whole experience.

Until yesterday I listened to BBC radio through an Echo Dot hard wired in to a v1 Sonos 5 speaker; the radio would start playing almost immediately after I had asked Alexa to play a station. I now have a pair of Sonos ONE speakers and it takes several seconds to start playing the same radio station after I have sent the command. Have others experienced this, and if so have they found an workaround? TIA, relb

When is Alexa support going to be enabled for Canada?

I have just brought a sonos one I have added my Spotify account and changed it to my default music player on Alexa. Alexa acknowledges the command and repeats it for example playing the weeknd on Spotify in living room but nothing happens I can click on the sonos app on my phone and play the song I want perfectly fine just not with voice command any suggestions ?

I hate to make a topic just to complain, but I have noticed within the past week or so that I now have to substantially raise my voice to call Alexa on my Sonos Ones. I know you guys tweak it over time, but the times I have to say Alexa to get her to hear me has increased significantly. Wouldn't an ideal solution be give us a sliding scale or something like maybe what's in the Discord App or other similar programs where the microphone pickup can be modified, to give users more freedom?

I understand that Sonos will release the ability to access Alexa in Canada in the near future. However, I just want to make sure that it is an app update and that I don’t have to purchase a new Sonos One. I bought it solely because it said it had Alexa built in; which it doesn’t.

When I say "Alexa play The Killers on " the music comes out of my Echo Dot. When I say "Alexa play music on " it plays a random station on the Sonos. That is to say if I tell Alexa to play random music it will play out of my Sonos. Anytime I try to specify what music or service I want results in the music coming out of the Echo Dot instead. What am I doing wrong?

Hi! I'm having some strange connectivity issues between my Echo Dot and my 3 sonos speakers, possibly involving spotify. Only some things play on some speakers at some times, and I can't figure out why. Here's what's happening: Echo Dot will accept commands to play named songs, bands, albums, or playlists from Amazon music OR Spotify music on my Sonos Connect. Echo Dot will accept commands to play "music" on my Play3 and Play:1 but will NOT accept commands to play named songs, bands, albums or playlists on either one of them. This is true whether I have Spotify set as default music service or Amazon music set as default music service. Example: If I say, "Alexa, play [bandname] on [Play:1], it will act as if I said "Alexa, play [bandname]" and just play on the dot. (yuck). But if I say, "Alexa, play music on [Play:1]", it will play an amazon music playlist that it picked for me on the sonos speaker. Why can Spotify play on Sonos Connect but not elsewhere? A friend of mine bought a Sonos One for me from Singapore and I am setting it up here in India. I noticed that the Sonos App did not prompt me to set up Alexa on the One. Although Alexa is available on Amazon Echo products in India since Oct 2017, it doesn't seem to be available on the Sonos One. Anybody else facing this issue? Any workarounds? Or any official comment from Sonos about when Alexa would be active in India? The major reason why I invested in the Sonos One was the voice assistance capability built in. If that is not available then I'll probably be returning the One.

Is there support for using Alexa to play local Sonos playlists, or is support limited to the listed online services?

As someone considering joining the Sonos family, I'm wondering if there has been an update or news on when or if Dolby Atmos or Windows Sonic is coming to Sonos in a new product speaker? Plus, is Alexa etc., coming to other Sonos speakers? Anyhow, I would hate to purchase anything to find out Atmos and Sonic ready speakers would be arriving right after.

I have just bought a second Sonos One. I am using each Sonos One in different rooms. If one of the Sonos is switched off, or not playing music, then Alex responds. However, if one is playing music then the second Sonos will not play anything and Alexa will not respond and tells me to set up the Sonos skills app. However, sometimes, it might switch the music off in the other room and then play. No idea what is going on. So, can you use Alexa on two devices that are playing at the same time?

I have one Sonos Play:1 - I also have an Echo and a pair of Echo Dots. One Dot I have connected to a Bose speaker via an aux cable. The Echo has it's own, good(ish), speakers, and the Sonos is paired with the last Dot. The Sonos is connected to my Dot as per instructions. Works as designed. One supposes. I have an Alexa music group set up with all the Alexa devices. My group name is, an unimaginative, "Everywhere". So I say, "Alexa, play classical music Everywhere". And it does. The Echo plays, the Dot plays with the Bose aux attached, the other Dot just plays music. No Sonos connection. I understand that, in some fashion, this is an Amazon limitation on not being able to play to group attached Bluetooth devices. OK, can accept that. Kinda. But the Sonos, as best I can tell, has NO option for an aux cable, so no (known to me) mechanism to get around the Amazon problem. Is there some magic by which I can get this to work the way I want it to? I am not even sure if A

When I get to the step in Sonos; 'Steps to set up Alexa' -> 'Connect your Amazon account' I am stuck in a loop, directed to amazon prime (authenticated?) then directed back to 'Steps to set up Alexa' -> 'Connect your Amazon account'
