I have setup two Sonos one speakers (setup the Sonos skill in Alexa, Spotify (premium account) as my default music service, and Alexa as my voice service in the Sonos app).
I can ask for music by artist or a specific song but am unable to ask for music of a specific genre or activity type for instance saying:
Alexa play 80's rock or Alexa play dance music. Alexa just responds with unable to find any 80's rock etc.
I have not created any playlists or followed any particular feeds in spotify (am new to using spotify) so i am not sure if any of this matters.
Any suggestions on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.

If you want to play a grouping of tracks other than an Album, I use Spotify Playlists. To play a Spotify playlist you need to include the word 'Playlist in the command. e.g. 'Alexa, Play piano chill Playlist' - slightly different genre from your requirement! 🙂

Thanks for the reply that worked. At least you do not need to know the exact playlist you want and it will still return a playlist that is close, my memory is not what it used to be.
