Best Wishes to EveryoneI thought I’d start this post with a valediction instead of the usual salutation. I think it’s appropriate given the time of year and the international make-up of this Sonos Community. As such I want to be respectful of everyone’s choice of how they choose to celebrate (or not) during this time of year. We all come here for what we initially think are our own distinct reasons which are varied in nature. Some to seek help with a Sonos issue; others to offer advice and assistance, and some to vent their frustration(s). Regardless of why you’re here your voice in this community (IMO) is important and has value. I’ve enjoyed reading your posts, offering advice when I can and learning from senior community members. Senior meaning their percentage of issue resolution is quite visible in the community.I believe Sonos will treat us to new exciting product offerings and/or improvements (via updates to existing products) in the coming year. They certainly made good on th
Hi I ordered a pair of sonos speakers (https://www.sonos.com/en-us/shop/two-room-set-era-100)Both speakers were delivered in a single box. One of them was defective and I wasn’t happy with the sound of the other. So, I decided to return both. I generated RMA but I see separate RMA for each speaker. Am I expected to ship speaker separately? can I just put both speakers in the box it came with and send it as one shipment?
Hi there, I previously had a Sonos system set up with a Play3 and a Sonos One but have since changed internet provider so need to update this. I managed to remove the Play3 from my old system and create a new one but now my Sonos app won’t recongise the Sonos One even if it is plugged in with an ethernet cable.Any advice on how to get both on the same system would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks, Gareth
I own and AV company and have installed and sold literately hundreds of Sonos Products. I have to say the RMA process is a complete joke! I had a bad sonos amp that did not power up and still had to spend 45 mins on the phone doing the most ridiculous troubleshooting steps. Get put on hold 20 times and had to talk like a robot to the agent because unfortunately Sonos has their customer service out of the country. You would think a company like sonos and all the money they make. That they could at the very least has a US based English speaking customer service and tech support department. What an absolute joke and waste of time.
I have a question re: STP. It seems like we get constant issues (WiFi drops, network getting slow and then crashing, etc.) with STP when deploying managed switches with Sonos. On these jobs, both Sonos and the networking manufacturer claim that all settings are optimal in the router/switches/etc. Sonos’ site shows: Sonos uses Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) to maintain communication between the products in your system when in a wired setup. Does this mean (they underlined wired) that setting up all of the Sonos units in a WiFi configuration and bypassing SonosNet may fix STP problems? I have gotten conflicting answers from different sources. If this bypasses STP loops, it would be great to know to cut down on this troubleshooting. Thanks in advance!
This ia an ongoing problem and it’s driving me nuts!I have a Dell laptop running Windows 11.I have a Sonos 2 system with 6 Connects and a Roam. It rarely works...says it can’t find my system. I try all the suggestions of restarts...sometimes it will work for a while but then a day later, it is off again. Even when Sonos is working, often I have trouble adding music to the queue.I have a strong wifi connection. My computer sits right above my modem. I have a few Eero devices around my house to cover more area...one sits next to my Connect boxes.Sonos 2 is installed on my iphone but I prefer to access Sonos on my computer where I can easily see my itunes playlists in my Music Library.I tried something yesterday. My Alexa Dots are paired with my Sonos. I said “Alexa, play Christmas music on my Sonos speakers” and voila! Music in every room. What I want to know is, does this shed any light on the problem of Sonos not finding my system when I am on my computer or iphone? Thanks in advance for
Sold my house and new owners want the Sonos S1 system. Do I perform a factory reset and let them register the product on their own account. BTW I will be putting Sonos into my new home - a home is not a home without Sonos.
Is it possible to use the speakers without wifi?
Hello,I aime yo upgrade my Sonos 1systems to Sonos2.Would you please tell Which component Can replace :- Connect- Connect Amp ( "Bridge" for hifi système)?- Play 1?Thanks for answers and considerations. Kind regards. Cyrille SÉGLA
Can I run my Sonos from a phone ie ee as my wifi has gone down and we can not connect until 27th December?
I don’t recognise the email address I used to set up my account - I therefore don’t have the correct password either. Is there a way to reset it?
Some help please...Why can't I see both my Sonos speakers (Ray and Beam) that are set up as different rooms at the same time on the app? I can only see one at a time. When I’m in one of the rooms, I see that one. When I move to the other room, I have to both press the power button on the speaker and refresh the app and then I can see the speaker in this room, but the other one has disappeared. I have set up and connected both of them. Both are connected to TV’s and work fine with the TVs. I can play music from only one speaker at a time ..when the app is connected to that speaker at that time. I want to group the two speakers together so i can play music from them both simultaneously, but the ‘group’ button/tab appears as faded light grey so is therefore unselectable (I’m assuming this is because the app is only recognising one room and that I have one speaker connected). How do I get to see the two speakers at once and have the two rooms show up on my app at the same time? Thanks in
I have been a Sonos owner for 10 years now. In that time I have accumulated quite a bit of gear which I actually enjoy and, in the past, have recommended to others. But over time it has become quite apparent that we have different goals. First the S1/S2 debacle which was no more than an attempt to push voice assistants everywhere and kill the analog hole. (Funny how my original Play:1 still works on S2 but the connect:amp won’t and the voice apps are still crap) Now I have just discovered that last spring they killed off playing personal music from android devices. How I discovered this is that my family, like many, have accumulated a large collection of holiday music over the years. Many of the albums are not mainstream and some have been in the family for generations. Long ago they were ripped from vinyl to digital and now reside on an android tablet. A device that a year ago worked fine but not now. No holiday gathering listening to unique music handed down from grandparen
I have three of the Sonos One product. I want to give 1 of them away. How do I transfer part of my system?
BBC Sounds authorisation link fails. It was working OK until yesterday. I've deleted and tried to add to my system but keeps failing. Is there an issue?
I just installed an Eero Pro 6 wifi mesh extender and my whole SONOS system went offline (3 amps). The app says “Sonos and your mobile device must be on the same network. Let’s fix it”. (NOTE: i used the same name and password for the extender as my Fios router/wifi thinking all my devices would automatically pick up the extender, and they mostly have.) The app takes me through the network update and I get a message saying “Unable to join the network “SONOS”. I’ve done a factory reset of the devices and gone through the whole process multiple times and end with the same message. I’m not sure what else to do at this point...and i’m exceeding the limit’s of my technical aptitude.Anyone have any suggestions?
I'm reaching out to suggest a feature enhancement for the SONOS PC application that I believe would significantly enrich our user experience: the introduction of Global Hotkeys, reminiscent of the classic Winamp player. For those unfamiliar, Global Hotkeys in Winamp allowed users to control basic music playback functions (play, pause, skip, etc.) using keyboard shortcuts, regardless of whether the application was in focus. This feature was a game-changer in terms of convenience and efficiency, enabling users to manage their music seamlessly while engaged in other tasks on their PC.Implementing Global Hotkeys in the SONOS PC application would bring a similar level of functionality and ease of use. Imagine being able to control your SONOS sound system with simple key combinations, without the need to switch windows or interrupt your workflow. This feature would be especially beneficial for users who often multitask on their computers, providing a way to enjoy and manage their SONOS experi
Hi!I purchased a Sonos Beam 2 last week. After I set up the devise on the Sonos app but it didn’t have anything pop-up regarding to the apple music promo. I also checked my inbox on the app, there are nothing in my inbox. So I contacted customer support, but they answered that such promo is for ERA-buyers only? It it true? Cause I saw an ad on the website with description of Sonos Beam, that’s why I‘m confused.
Hi..I have a big Sonos solution at a company. It works fine. But if the fire alarm goes on they need to shut down the music. We solved it by turning the internet off to Sonos. When they play radio channels, the music stops after 10/15 sec, it is ok. But if they use Soundtrack/Spotify it plays the complete song to the end, and stops. Is there any way to adjust the buffer, or any another idea :) Thanks.
Hello. thanks for reading. Two topics that may be related. I’ve had my Sonos system set up for about 5 years with help from this community. Pretty much no problems after the initial kinks were worked out. I’m in a rural area and had been using Verizon wireless, a grandfathered plan for the house. A few weeks back, we got Starlink and I have that installed with no obstructions. I have the Starlink installed with their router, turned off in bridge mode, with an ethernet adapter, going to a Unifi Router. The router feeds a Unifi switch with various rooms connected by ethernet (even though it obviously goes back to Starlink). Ever since the install, one room in particular (the kitchen) will have music drop out from playing but you can still hear audio from the paired sub. Then the music will return for a while, then drop out again for about 30 seconds. Random. I have unplugged all devices, re-booted the router, plugged them one by one, assigned fixed IP addresses. Worked for
That way we can delete redundant posts or accidental ones ourselves. Thanks!
Not supporting a feature that has been available on iPhone for more than a year, is a serious drawback to the the service and end user experience. When will Sonos begin supporting this feature?
“Beam, Sub Mini, 2 x Sonos One SL. The App SUUUUUUCCCCKKKKSSSSS. It took me 5 weeks just to get the thing working and it kept cutting out. Then this morning a power outage and the freakin thing is out again. Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.
When there is an outage the pop-up appears on every page opened or refreshed and that gets old rather quickly when looking at a lot of pages.Could it be changed so that the pop-up is shown once per visit (maybe a cookie) so it doesn’t have to be closed time after time, just once.
