Have a chat with other Sonos owners. What's going on in the world of music and technology? What's playing?

I have been a Sonos owner for 10 years now. In that time I have accumulated quite a bit of gear which I actually enjoy and, in the past, have recommended to others. But over time it has become quite apparent that we have different goals. First the S1/S2 debacle which was no more than an attempt to push voice assistants everywhere and kill the analog hole. (Funny how my original Play:1 still works on S2 but the connect:amp won’t and the voice apps are still crap) Now I have just discovered that last spring they killed off playing personal music from android devices. How I discovered this is that my family, like many, have accumulated a large collection of holiday music over the years. Many of the albums are not mainstream and some have been in the family for generations. Long ago they were ripped from vinyl to digital and now reside on an android tablet. A device that a year ago worked fine but not now. No holiday gathering listening to unique music handed down from grandparen
I have three of the Sonos One product. I want to give 1 of them away. How do I transfer part of my system?
BBC Sounds authorisation link fails. It was working OK until yesterday. I've deleted and tried to add to my system but keeps failing. Is there an issue?
I just installed an Eero Pro 6 wifi mesh extender and my whole SONOS system went offline (3 amps). The app says “Sonos and your mobile device must be on the same network. Let’s fix it”. (NOTE: i used the same name and password for the extender as my Fios router/wifi thinking all my devices would automatically pick up the extender, and they mostly have.) The app takes me through the network update and I get a message saying “Unable to join the network “SONOS”. I’ve done a factory reset of the devices and gone through the whole process multiple times and end with the same message. I’m not sure what else to do at this point...and i’m exceeding the limit’s of my technical aptitude.Anyone have any suggestions?
I'm reaching out to suggest a feature enhancement for the SONOS PC application that I believe would significantly enrich our user experience: the introduction of Global Hotkeys, reminiscent of the classic Winamp player. For those unfamiliar, Global Hotkeys in Winamp allowed users to control basic music playback functions (play, pause, skip, etc.) using keyboard shortcuts, regardless of whether the application was in focus. This feature was a game-changer in terms of convenience and efficiency, enabling users to manage their music seamlessly while engaged in other tasks on their PC.Implementing Global Hotkeys in the SONOS PC application would bring a similar level of functionality and ease of use. Imagine being able to control your SONOS sound system with simple key combinations, without the need to switch windows or interrupt your workflow. This feature would be especially beneficial for users who often multitask on their computers, providing a way to enjoy and manage their SONOS experi
Hi!I purchased a Sonos Beam 2 last week. After I set up the devise on the Sonos app but it didn’t have anything pop-up regarding to the apple music promo. I also checked my inbox on the app, there are nothing in my inbox. So I contacted customer support, but they answered that such promo is for ERA-buyers only? It it true? Cause I saw an ad on the website with description of Sonos Beam, that’s why I‘m confused.
Hi..I have a big Sonos solution at a company. It works fine. But if the fire alarm goes on they need to shut down the music. We solved it by turning the internet off to Sonos. When they play radio channels, the music stops after 10/15 sec, it is ok. But if they use Soundtrack/Spotify it plays the complete song to the end, and stops. Is there any way to adjust the buffer, or any another idea :) Thanks.
Hello. thanks for reading. Two topics that may be related. I’ve had my Sonos system set up for about 5 years with help from this community. Pretty much no problems after the initial kinks were worked out. I’m in a rural area and had been using Verizon wireless, a grandfathered plan for the house. A few weeks back, we got Starlink and I have that installed with no obstructions. I have the Starlink installed with their router, turned off in bridge mode, with an ethernet adapter, going to a Unifi Router. The router feeds a Unifi switch with various rooms connected by ethernet (even though it obviously goes back to Starlink). Ever since the install, one room in particular (the kitchen) will have music drop out from playing but you can still hear audio from the paired sub. Then the music will return for a while, then drop out again for about 30 seconds. Random. I have unplugged all devices, re-booted the router, plugged them one by one, assigned fixed IP addresses. Worked for
That way we can delete redundant posts or accidental ones ourselves. Thanks!
Not supporting a feature that has been available on iPhone for more than a year, is a serious drawback to the the service and end user experience. When will Sonos begin supporting this feature?
“Beam, Sub Mini, 2 x Sonos One SL. The App SUUUUUUCCCCKKKKSSSSS. It took me 5 weeks just to get the thing working and it kept cutting out. Then this morning a power outage and the freakin thing is out again. Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.
When there is an outage the pop-up appears on every page opened or refreshed and that gets old rather quickly when looking at a lot of pages.Could it be changed so that the pop-up is shown once per visit (maybe a cookie) so it doesn’t have to be closed time after time, just once.
This song was being demo’d on the Sonos set at Best Buy on 9/15/23, and I can’t find it anywhere! My video on YouTube of unsearchable Sonos songI cannot find it anywhere. It's not on Shazam or SoundHound... no search of lyrics or combination will lead to anything. The closest I found was Sukihana - "Price Going Up" (from her classic album, "WOLF PUSSY,") but it's definitely not the same song.thank you
Has anyone returned a duplicate order before? I placed a 2nd order because I missed out on a cash back opportunity. Probably a dumb question but if the orders are the same exact set does it matter which one I send back? I’m guess yes because of serial numbers. 🤔
I have AT&T fiber and has worked flawlessly. Recently, last couple of days I’ve had WiFi drops. Tech came out this morning and changes a wire outside . Nothing else was changed. I have the same modem router and same password as before. Everything in the house is connected to WiFi and working. Two rooms with Arc, sub, and ones are working. However , app says Sonos not found and has to be on the same network as devices. Only thing I see different is iPad has this privacy warning on the WiFi (see pic) but iPhone does not..Again , same everything as before. Pics show what I’m experiencing . Ideas?
I installed Sonos in my living room with the following configuration: * Beam Gen 2 connected via HDMI Arc to my TV* 2x Sonos Era 300 on the back of my sofa* Apple TV with Plex, Netflix, Disney+,...* Trueplay calibration doneSo far, I'm disappointed with the result. The content watched isn't just movies and the sources vary (Plex, Netflix, Disney+ and TV channels).I find that the Era 300s at the rear don't add much. The sound has to be at a certain level for that to be the case. But the sound isn't often high, because there are 6 of us and someone always thinks it's too loud.I previously had HomePod v1s, which weren't bad at all, although their main use wasn't as TV speakers, but for music. It was more a Logitech Z906 kit. What was particularly good about the Z906s was the ability to choose the source of the sound, and in particular to output the same sound to all the speakers. This means, for example, that dialogue can also be heard on the rear speakers, thus reducing the sound level,
HelloI currently use different sonos product under my account in my main residence. I have replaced my Playbase with a Beam and would like to install the Playbase in my summer house. This requires me to cretae a new system with a different wifi network, correct ? How should I proceed ? May I still use the same account ?Kind regards,Xavier
Didn’t see this posted anywhere else, but the Boost is officially dead. It has shuffled off its mortal coil, it is nailed to the perch, etc.https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/boost-end-of-saleIt did a fine job for nine years, but SonosNet is clearly getting deprecated and some will have to live with crappy home routers not working correctly causing speakers to vanish from the app randomly.
It would be great if sonos would support Fcast Technology. It is an opensource protocol and would be an amazing way to support direct casting for Android phones and other Clients. https://fcast.org/
Hello Everyone,I have just built a mother in suite above my garage. I would like to split my current Sonos system into two separate systems so that guests can listen to music independent of the main house. Both systems would be using the same WIFI network. I would like to move over 2 sonos move 2, 2 sonos five, and 1 sonos sub. 1-How do I create a second system on my Android S22utra to control the new and old system separately?2-I am guessing that the speakers being moved from the main house to the mother in law suite need to be reset?3-Will both systems be able to be operated at the same time independently of each other?4-I have EERO pro WIFI. Thanks for any help. Please dumb it down so that I can actually be successful in following your instructions!
We have 2x Play 5s (Gen 1), a Play 3 and a Play 1. We want to add new gen speakers (a move and two Era 100s) but want to continue using the old ones as well.I understand we will have to set up a second Sonos group using S2 (I think) and that they will not be in sync. Do we need a separate controller for each or can the S1 and S2 apps coexist on the same controller (iPhone 14s in this case)? What else should I do or watch out for! Thanks to those who've gone before.
How do I let renters access the Sonos system in our vacation property?
Hello all, I’m extremely frustrated with SONOS customer support. I purchased a move, saved up and purchased a second one to use together. I mistakingly assumed or missed in the small print that these portable speakers can not pair via bluetooth. When I explained this to a customer service agent she was kind and understanding, she set me up with a return and said there will be no problem returning the second move that was purchased a few months previously, that it would just require some additional paperwork because it’s just over 45 days.I moved on and accepted that I would have to use another product so I went ahead and ordered replacements after being told a return wouldn’t be a problem. So I waited, followed up, waited, followed up and eventually got a reply that my return request was denied because I was just over the time limit. If this was the case I don’t understand why I was told I would be able to return the second unit, or why a request was even made given that the represent
Fantastic experience returning my Era 300. I followed Sonos directions for returning merchandise and the day they received my return they processed my refund. Customer service was quick to respond to my questions and provided helpful information. On 2 seperate occasions I had issues with my orders, both were problems I created. Customer service was excellent in helping me and I have no worries should I need assistance in the future. All in all, my experiences have been positive and their customer service is a model other companies should strive to emulate.
Current groups setup for alarms is ridiculous. If there is a reason that Sonos can't set up alarms with groups attached, please let us know. Thx
