I just got a Pro-Ject Phono Box DC preamp to go with my Amp + Pioneer PL-50 setup. Plugged in the Phono Box, dropped the needle, Autoplay worked, and it sounded great. No issues there.Annoyingly, after I stopped the the record, Autoplay didn’t turn off. It’s been 40min and the Amp still hasn’t automatically turned it off. I believe I understand that Autoplay is based on a voltage from the record player/preamp which sends a signal to the Amp, so I guess that signal hasn’t stopped, probably because the Phono Box doesn’t have an on/off switch. Is this just the way it is with a phono preamp that stays ‘on’ all the time? Will I have to get a phono preamp with an on/off switch if I want Autoplay to turn off?TV Autoplay isn’t turned on, by the way. Thanks!
So the idea here is to have the turntable with preamp connected to the Receiver. Then have the Sonos Port connected to the receiver as well. I want to run Zone 2 from the AV Receiver to a set of outdoor speakers. I recently purchased a AudioTechnica Turntable with a preamp. I have this setup currently directly to the turntable to run throughout the house on all the Sonos Speakers. Unfortunately I do not want to run Sonos Outdoors due to constant changing weather conditions. I want to install a set of outdoor wired speakers. This is why the AV Receiver is needed. I think I need to connect the Turntable to an input source? Connect the Port to an output Source? and Connect the speakers to the Channel outputs? I then should be able to listen to music indoors and outdoors at the same time using and second zone for the hardwired speakers outdoors connected to the Receiver? Sorry this is long winded. Looking for confirmation or a correct method of connecting all this. Thanks in advance.Mark
I have recently switched to Amazon Unlimited Family plan. When I play Ultra HD music through Five speaker, the Sonos app shows HD symbol only. Is Ultra HD available with this set up? Thanks!!
I’d like to use my existing 9.2.6 theater setup for music via the Sonos app. Can I use the PORT “without” an input device connected (tape deck, record player, etc) as access to play music through (existing) receiver (RCA input connections)? TIA Rob
Hi. This may sound like a daft question but do TV channels broadcast in more than one format? What I mean is before I had the Sonos Arc I had no idea what format I was playing as I had no way of knowing. Then before I had added the Sonos Sub Gen 3, the Sonos app was showing as, say, Stereo PCM and finally now that I have added 2 surround speakers it is showing as Dolby Digital 5.1So surely the same broadcast must be broadcasting audio in multi-formats at any one time? 🤔
I have a Sonos Beam connected to my TV via eArc with two Sonos One surrounds as my home theatre system. In addition, I have two Sonos Ones in my bedroom and one in the kitchen, too. Plus, two HomePods in the mix. If I’m watching a program on my Apple TV and then switch the tv off to listen to music from my iPhone’s Apple Music app thru any speaker in my house, the Apple TV insists on to playing the previous tv show thru all the speakers. The Apple TV actually switches the song out for the TV show. It takes at least 15 minutes to convince the Apple TV to give up control. Sometimes I just want to through the Apple TV out. Is there anything I have mis-configured?
It will be great to have two sub settings for the Sonos Amp one for music and one for TV/movies.Thoughts?
I have a Sonia Beam connected to a Samsung TV through the HDMI ARC port. When the beam starts, or when it has been muted for a period, the sound is distorted and crackles for the first few minutes. After a while it returns to normal so it almost seems like it needs to ‘warm up’. Is this normal behaviour?
I may be wrong on this, but I am sure when I looked through my album list in the music library, I got a grid view of the album names and cover art. Now I get a list view. This using the controller app on Android. Is it my imagination that it used to be a grid view? I can’t seem to find any setting option to toggle between grid and list views. On my iPad mini, I still get a grid view of the albums.
Every phone, computer, Apple TV, and SVS streamer turned off and powered down yet 1SL was playing music. In fact it’s playing a 67 song playlist which was last thing I was playing but with everything off where is the music coming from?
Hi, Today I’ve been listening to my Apple Music playlist via the Sonos Apple Music service (NOT streamed via AirPlay 2).I noticed that some songs were louder than others during playback and I know that if I was streaming from my phone they’d be at the same volume with sound check enabled (which it is on my phone). Is there an equivalent function in the Sonos settings that will achieve the same as Apple’s sound check? If there was I’d not have to keep upping and lowering the volume.CheersWhingbag
My system is comprised of: a Connect; 4 Ones; a 3; and a Move. The system is "wired" with only the Connect connected with ethernet. My household has accounts with Apple, Spotify, Pandora, and Tidal playing through Sonos. Tidal is the primary service I personally use. I've read historical threads in this forum that Tidal lossless files "need a more solid wireless connection" otherwise song skipping and a 'connection to tidal was lost' error message may occur. I have been receiving these errors recently and it finally dawned on me that these errors did not happen until I got the Move. Could it be that my "wired" Sonos mesh network is solid, but including the Move in the same speaker group is causing the errors because the Move's Wi-Fi connection is not so solid? Anecdotally, this seems to be the case as I've had successful Tidal listening sessions with the Move left out of the speaker group, but this is not proof. I am hoping to get a definitive, technical answer. Thank you.
Why don't these ***** make a device that can be used as a PC Speaker? Do they want us to chuck the triangular thing into a ditch and get a proper speaker? Utterly disgraceful -m they care more about here own profits than the user experience. Hello,This is my first post on this forum. I’m probably not the first to suggest this, but why doesn’t Sonos allow us to use their ceiling speakers as satellite speakers (not rear speakers) in a Dolby Atmos setup? I own the arc, and no matter what I try, I can’t hear any sounds from above me. I’ve tried turning up the upward firing speakers in the app, but all it does it make it louder. I can still easily tell that the sound is coming from right in front of me instead of above me. My ideal setup is to be able to use 4 ceiling speakers in total: two in the front and two in the back for complete immersion. I hope Sonos is listening and adds this functionality asap! thanks for reading and feel free to provide perspective!
Hi, I currently have play1 s set up as L / R plus sub. Really like this setup. We are redoing our living room and the new design is forcing me to consider in ceiling solution. I am planning on going with sonos in ceiling speakers with existing sub and amp. We already have the wiring ( previously installed ). This will be purely for 2 channel music. Does any one have this set up ? How is the quality of sound compared with two play ones + sub.
Hi. I have recently bought a Sub 3 and I have been experimenting to try and find the best position to place it.I have tried in the corner of the room, underneath my settee and behind me on the floor but I like my current position the best on the floor by the side of my TV cabinet. However should I be concerned that my Sky Q digibox is only around 2ft away from the Sub itself as I know that strong speakers (that are in the Sub) can affect hard drives abd there's one in my Sky Q digibox! Many thanks for any feedback.Cheers 🍻
I am very interested in purchasing a Brennan B2, however before committing I would like to ask those who have the knowledge on this forum will it work with older Sonos equipment?I have the following kit -3 x Play 3 speakers, 1 x Connect and a CR200 controller. I have the Sonos S1 app on a smartphone and PC.Many thanks
Hi,My sonos play5 was working well, suddenly it stopped nd smells like burn something. i think my sonos motherboard has been damaged and warranty had been used already. now i want to buy compatible motherboard for my sonos play5. From where i can get the original one?thanks.
I have a customer who wants to install a stereo pair of speakers using his Onkyo receiver as a source. I can wire one speaker directly to the receiver. However there is a fireplace between the receiver and the left speaker. There is no rug, There is no basement, there is no attic. Is there a Sonos wireless solution to this problem, Additionally, this is a “Budget” installation. If not a Sonos solution, does anyone know if there is such a thing a a set of bookshelf speakers that uses wireless technology to send a signal to to the “other” speaker ie. that doesn’t require a wire between speakers?ThanksGene
Can I add two Gen 2 One SL Speakers as separate front left and right channels to a Sonos Home Theater System that includes a Sonos Play Base, Subwoofer, and two Play Five Surround Sound Speakers that were all purchased in 2018? The Play Base is connected to an LG 4K TV via an optical cable. The rest of the speakers are connected to the Play Base via WiFi.
My order for the Arc emersion kit shows backordered, Ship date from 2/25/2022. Is everything backordered or just the Arc? Can I get a partial shipment? The ones and the Sub? Assuming there are many of us on the backorder list. Can you tell me what order dates are being filled now? Just want an idea where I am on the list.
HiI am new to sonos and really enjoy my Sonos one. We are 4 people in the house and I'm the only one who installed and configured the Sonos app and One. When someone asks Google to play music from Spotify on the Sonos, which Google and Spotify accounts are in use? Mine? If I leave the house with my phone the music stops. So who owns the music? Who controls the device? Hope my question makes sense. Thanks
Hi folks - a friend of a friend is considering selling these speakers - can someone help me identify the specific models? I see Play 1’s on the lower right...Thanks…
Hi AllNewbie here and my 1st post.Soon to be purchasing some Sonos gear but need some advice please.I will soon be buying an LG Oled TV. to go with that I would like a great (surround) sound system.I have been advised that I should get the following Sonos Arc sound bar Sonos Amp Pair of Sonance/Sonos Ceiling speakers It has also been suggested to me that the Sonance/Sonos Ceiling speakers have there own amp built into the speakers, therefore they only need power, and I would not need a Sonos Amp.Is this correct ? Also the Arc soundbar would be wired to the TV, but how would it connect to the Amp ? would it need to connect to the Amp ? Hope you can throw some light onto my quiries Thank in advance
