I have owned a Sonos system for 5 years. Never had a problem before today. My speakers are not connecting to Wifi and the app, as far as I can tell, does not let me change network settings unless it “invites” me to do so. I have tried 10 times and failed to trigger the “learn more” message. I attempted to just treat it as a new system setup, but nope, that won’t do the trick either. After not finding my speaker it keeps prompting to try again. I am stuck in a loop. Yes I updated my app. Yes I updated my app permissions. Yes I have power cycled my speakers. Yes I have power cycled my Wifi. Yes I have tried on each speaker. Yes I have moved the speaker.Anybody have any ideas?
I recently bought a 2nd gen play 3 which is set up on the s2 app. I just today bought a 1st gen play 1 and play 3. They came with the little bridge item too. Is there a way i can connect all 3 of these items together and how. I’m struggling to even add the two 1st gen items to the s2 app setup I have with the 2nd gen play 3 right now!! Many thanks for any help
I have an Amp since a year and have been able to run it without problems. Last week I got 2 Sonos One and a Sonos Move and tried to add them to the system. The problem is that the new speakers ended up in a new system and the amp is in it’s own. I cannot choose which of the systems that I control with the app. It seems though as it depends on which of my mesh devices my phone is connected to but not sure about it. I cannot add the missing devices in either system as they will not be discovered. I can see that my amp is connected to my network over the 2,4Ghz band and the other speakers are on the 5Ghz band. Although strange, it seems that this may be the cause of the problem.Does anyone know how to combine my devices into one system?
My Sonos One speaker fails when updating. Its a 2019 Gen 2 model. the unit has a wired connection to home router, and definitely has internet access since Alexa voice assistant is working ok. It stopped playing spotify song requests recently. So I opened the Sonos S2 App and it wont let me do anything except apply the latest update. The update gets to final stage and then fails with an Error code 6 I followed all the troubleshooting hints from Sonos support article regarding error updating :1. Set static IP 2. Rebooted my router and fiber modem (I have a TP-Link Home Mesh router system )3. I have powered the unit off/on multiple times.(https://en.community.sonos.com/speakers-229128/code-error-6-6877525) I have tried several times to do the update, but it fails every time. Have successfully done updates before, I never had an issue. Any suggestions how this can be resolved ? See attached images.
I have had two Sonos Play 1 speakers for maybe four years old in my office, synced and playing together for a long time. Today, all of the sudden one of the speakers was off-line and I cannot seem to get it to connect again - it is the strangest thing. I have pressed all the different reset button configurations, I have plugged it into the Ethernet, I have put it right next to the router, I have let it sit unplugged for three hours, I have restarted my phone, nothing seems to be working. Any ideas??
I recently bought a Sonos One and Ive noticed that it has a static-like sound. It’s not very loud but noticeable when quiet, it is more noticeable when activating the speaker. The best way to describe the noise is almost like a hard drive sound. Is this considered normal or should the speaker be entirely silent at all times?
Drop songs non stop from various speakers. I think the software for sonos is under performing.
First of all, thanks for the help that I received on here the other day. Really appreciated it. Also, a big hats-off to SONOS help desk the other day who resolved my biggest issue. Now, here is a thought; I have my old Play 5 working through the S1 app, and the rest of my system going through the S2 app. I have a turntable that I use RCA cables to go into my Connect (which is S2 compatible). Now I used to use this to play through the house including my Play 5 on the original S1 app until I upgraded to S2 due to now having a Roam SL. To now make my turntable play through the house, I have to Bluetooth it to the Roam and play through the house. Not the end of the World at all, but it renders the 5 all but redundant. But I’d quite like to keep using my 5 as perhaps a line-in speaker for the turntable. So I thought I’d buy a cable that was the RCA to 3.5mm type and put it through the output of the Connect and then into the back of the 5 as a line-in. But this hasn’t worked. Do you t
Hihas anyone in the UK noticed the sound dropping out on BBC1 HD? Hear a lot on the football? Annoying as can’t tell if it’s the channel or sound bar.
Recently purchased a Nest Doorbell (Battery)One pitfall is not hearing a doorbell ring when someone is at the front door and the push notifications have proved to be unreliable and late notices. Would love to connect one of my Sonos products to the doorbell to have the ring come through the speakers. Is this possible?
I have 4 One SL's for music only and just got the Sub. Does the Sub only connect to one of the One SL's or can it be connected to all of them at the same time? When the Sub is connected to one of the SL’s, does it change the crossover of the speaker its connected to but not the other speakers playing or does it know to change the crossover for all that is connected?
My Play 5 line in is not working, under system settings it shows as connected. It plays through to my connect amp but not on the play 5 or my other speakers
I have two Play1 speakers, speaker A I set up using S2 app but I could not get to work. The other, I used the S1 app and is now working fine with the S2 app. Speaker A is connected but says it’s not registered and thus cannot playback. Tried hardwire, factory reset, but cannot get it to work. Has anyone else had this issue before? What did you do to fix it? Diagnostic number 415954629
I am trying to connect my new Sonos one with limited success. I have the new sonos app and have followed the instructions to setting up my speaker countless times, but run into roadblocks when it can’t find my system or connect to my wife, even after my phone hears the chimes it plays but then my app cannot find the system. I have rebooted, company reseted and reseted the app multiple times as well but can’t make any progress.
Hi Sonos world I have a Sonos one and a Sonos Beami don’t use the app very often, maybe to tweak the sound but usually I use Alexa on the “one” to access music.everything has been fine for years, until..several weeks ago I used the app to change a setting on the Beam and noticed it wasn’t showing in the app. I closed the app, re opened it and boom!there it is, except now the “one” isn’t showing in the app So I turned off both products and turned them back on and still only one shows on the app at anyone time. The app is upto date and trying to add a new product doesn’t work. ti get the ‘one” to appear I have to turn off the beam and reboot the appanyone had this or can offer a solution ? Thank you
Hello, I've had this problem pretty much since I bought it 3 months ago. Every 4 or 5 days, the speaker "dies" - not visible in the app or Spotify devices list - the play button on the speaker triggers the red light to flash. I've so far lived with this issue by unplugging the power, waiting a few seconds and plugging it back in - after which it operates fine again...for another 4 or 5 days. It is connected via ethernet and I have no other Sonos devices. It would be nice not to have to do this...
Absolutely ridiculous at this point. I have not been able to use Sonos twice in a row without having to go through the malarkey of unplugging everything, including my router to use this stupid system. I used to recommend your products frequently, due to ease of use. How ironic I now intend to start shopping for a new system because of the difficulty of use.
Equipment: 1 Boost 12 Sonos One Speakers Formerly 1 Google wifi puck, now replaced with 3 Eero 6+ pucks (same problem though) Approximately 2,000 sqft mostly open space. For years I have struggled with Spotify issues (unreliable, speakers and volume dropping out, “can’t connect to Spotify” messages, skipping tracks etc). However, Pandora works 90% more reliably. Sonos tech help solution was to connect one or more speakers to wifi pucks (not from modem, just ethernet wire from puck to speaker). I purchased the Eero 6+ mesh system due to each puck having it’s own Ethernet port. However, I have since learned Eero says NOT to connect the sonos speakers to pucks as it will degrade performance. Questions:Is it unique to Eero products that I “shouldn’t” wire directly to speakers? Is there a brand/model that is recommended? Currently all of my 13 sonos products are connecting to the puck that is hardwired to my boost and modem, therefore making my other 2 pucks virtually obsolete.
Hi, hoping someone might be able to help. My Playbar has been fine until we turned off the power in the house yesterday. Now it won’t connect and we only have the white light for a few seconds when turning on. I’ve tried all the usual factory resets, “find my product”, etc. this evening I’ve plugged it into the router with an Ethernet cable and tried it all again but it’s the same. The Ethernet is flashing orange so wondered if maybe it’s updating and I should leave it overnight? I am running S2.
I’ve met “error code 1” during updating software on my Synfonisk bookshelf speaker.Does anyone know what this is? I searched the sonos web site but couldn't find the answer. I tried the update several times, including factory reset, conecting with ethernet cable and updating it from different newtork (with different internet connection), but never method works well.Is there any method should be tried? I’d appreciate any suggestions on how to proceed.
hello I have a Play 5 Gen 2 and want to pair a synphonisk bookshelf with it.when I powered on registered it ok with the app but it locked onto the 2 g wirelss netwrok in the house not the 5 that the other sonos product is on . HiI just got a Sonos Five and although streaming works well, I have been having a difficult time with its line in. The sound is DISTORTED (static). I have tried connecting the following:CD player using an RCA to 3.5 jack (two kinds already) DVD player using an RCA to 3.5 jack (the same two cable) CD player via headphone jack to 3.5 line in Macbook (3.5 to 3.5) Ipad (3.5 to 3.5) I have been with Sonos’ customer chat at least five times doing so many things with them (reset the unit, my router, changed wifi channels etc). COULD IT BE that the unit’s line in port is defective??!!
Tv cannot find the Sonia speaker to play through, can use speaker using AirPlay using apple device
Hello! I would appreciate so much your knowledge and support about this issue. I use to have my sonos one wired to my ISP router and I was using S2 app with it with no problems. I recently purchased a new wifi router (Tp-link AX20) to use its WI-FI connection. This TP-link router is conected to the ISP router to get internet and now I use the new wifi network (2.4Ghz) to connect to it. (5Ghz wifi is disconnected). The problem is that now the app won't detect my Sonos one wired to the main router. I run a test connecting the Sonos one wired to the TP-LINK router and it worked so I guess there must be a parameter in the TP-LINK that im missing?-I have the TP-Link with auto channel and same WIFI SSID, even copying the MAC address of the ISP router.I have attached my config. Thank you for your support.
If I go to You Tube in the apps on my television using the tv remote to navigate to it, the soundbar plays at a default volume level and the tv level slider does not affect the volume of the soundbar. The music level slider alters the volume of the surrounds but the volume of the playbar remains the same. This would suggest something is wrong given that the volume of the playbar will not change. It is an LG television. I am not sure if there is a setting for volume in the television that needs to be adjusted.
