I got a new SL1 and can’t get it to work it goes through the setup in S1 app then I get a message SL1 is not compatible with your system you can either launch s1 app to manage your system or setup a new system in s2 app but it does not work in either

A new Sonos One SL is S2 App compatible only. It will not work with the S1 App. As stated here…

@Stratto,
To setup the One SL in the S2 App, power off your S1 speakers. Install the Sonos S2 App from here (assuming you are not already running a separate S2 Sonos System on the subnet)…

Ensure your mobile controller meets the system requirements for the S2 App shown here…

Check that the One SL speaker has a flashing green status LED from initial power on state and if not, reset the speaker using the instructions here…

Then in the S2 App create a brand new Sonos System and setup the One SL in the App.

Note: If you already have an S2 System in place, then perhaps start from factory state and open that S2 system and use the ‘Add Product’ option in ‘Settings/System’, but I would perhaps still power off your S1 products whilst doing that, just for good measure.

Hope the above helps you to resolve the matter.👍
