Confused by Apple Music/Sonos interface

I must admit I don’t understand the Sonos/Apple Music interface. I can find music I want to play on Apple Music and it plays through the phone.  I can add songs and albums to playlists.  But when I choose Apple Music as the source in the Sonos app, often the playlists and songs I’ve added do not appear.  What is the right “workflow” to use when using Apple Music as Sonos source?

Apple seem to use a separate database for their Sonos integration than they do for “regular” Apple Music, and there is a delay in getting changes from one system to the other.

You can use Airplay from the Apple Music app to stream directly to your Sonos speakers (unless they are too old to support Airplay).

Thanks! This is the kind of info I was looking for.
